Hi all,

As many of you are aware, we've experienced unusual levels of fraudulent activity on the Videoblocks Marketplace over the past three weeks which has caused a lot of sales to be refunded. We absolutely hear and understand your concerns.

We know that seeing refunds isnt comforting by any means. Our team works hard to protect your content by mitigating any instances of fraud on the Marketplace. The refunds that you have been seeing are related to a string of fraudulent attacks that our team is actively working to block. Here's what we're doing:

-We have been improving our fraud detection and prevention over the years - automating risk alert systems and blocking accounts up front so this doesnt occur.
-In response to the most recent incidents, we have made several enhancements to our fraud filter. In addition to automation, we will also be manually reviewing more transactions and delaying access to final files until those accounts are verified.
-On new subscription signups, we are delaying the access to the Marketplace content itself for riskier members.

In the instance that you discover your content being used in an illegal manner online, were here to help. Please dont hesitate to reach out to our team directly and we can assist you in issuing a takedown notice where possible.

Fraud is not something we take lightly. It violates the rights of our creators and everything you work for. We're with you and promise to continue pouring efforts into improving security and preventing these occurrences going forward.

Hey videomaker,

Our site is experiencing a technical issue with the Safari browser at the moment, which is causing this login problem. Our web team is aware of this issue and working towards a fix now! In the meantime, you should be able to access the site using Google Chrome or Firefox. Thanks!

We are always testing ways to drive sales of our subscriptions and your clips. This is one test that allows a non-member to check out, its a temporary membership fee (which is how its split out in the customer invoice). We think that more people seeing Marketplace clips will generate more sales to you. Another test that is live right now is a discounted membership with the purchase of a Marketplace clip. Were covering $50 per subscriber in their first year with the hope of attracting more members that buy from the Marketplace. Were constantly coming up with ways to drive sales and subscriptions, so youre likely to see lots of changes that push Marketplace sales. Always happy to chat further!

Thanks for voicing this concern!

Our team has been hard at work updating our Tax and Payment Information sections in the portal to make for easier workflows on VideoBlocks.

Due to this transition, tax percentages have temporarily been reset to default withholding amounts, so you may see different withholding values in sales emails and your Finance tab. Not to worry! This change is only temporary and your earnings, commissions, and final payouts will not be affected. Our interface will be updated next week and our team will update these amounts to reflect the correct withholding rates as soon as possible.

We stand by our 100% commission and our mission to make VideoBlocks the best agency it can be for all creatives. Thanks for your patience as we work to improve the overall site experience.

Hi Mantis -- Thanks for your post.  As you know, fraud is a real issue across all stock sites (and eCommerce in general) and VideoBlocks is no different. The most common reason we offer refunds to our customers are in cases of payment fraud. We take this matter very seriously and are actively pursuing remedies that help identify and deter fraud, but not even the latest technology and best operating procedures are able to prevent all fraud. Fraud is painful for us, even as a small percentage of overall sales volume, and we know it is painful for you, too, in any form.  Please know that in any case where you are seeing refunds, that VideoBlocks is not profiting from those transactions in any way.  We work hard to provide the best service in the industry to our contributor and we are always happy to look into your case specifically.  Please give us a call directly on 888-802-7316 and ask for me (Mike).  While we keep an eye on the forums, a phone call is always the quickest way to have your needs met.  Thank you so much for your engagement and trust!
