Computer Hardware / Re: 2k or 4k monitor for photo editing?
« on: July 05, 2022, 14:25 »
so does it 2k and 4k will make the text on lightroom, or photoshop very tiny to read?
Its not a problem.  I use Dell 32 4K monitor. In Windows settings you can set the size of interface elements including text size for e.g. 150 %. The in menus etc. in PS is OK, but it is much easier and more comfortable to edit and evaluate your photos or videos

Hi Matt,

I have a question from the other point of view. Is this free collection available only as the 10 free photos for a new member signed to Adobe Stock and then he/she cant download more for free but must either cancel or choose one of the paid plans?  Or is the free collection available also in another way?

And if only as a free trial, is it possible, that someone who cancels a free membership after a month, will create another Adobe ID with another email address and will get another 10 free images?  Or do you have the means not to allow such a procedure by one person or company for a longer time?

HI, Matt,

Is this for US/Canada citizens only? There is only State/Province field in the form, and no Country field. And I am from Poland

Adobe Stock / How many Fotolia credits = $500?
« on: September 04, 2018, 12:53 »
Hi Mat,
I live in Poland and my earnings on Fotolia site are shown only in Credits, and my earnings on Adobe site are shown only in Polish PLN. I couldnt find a way to view from Poland my earnings in US dollars. So my question is: How many Fotolia credits equals $500?. I have earned 470 credits this year so far, so if 1 Fotolia credit = 1 USD, I hope to qualify soon. But please confirm.

Regards
Chris

Shutterstock.com / Re: SS vs DT
« on: September 10, 2015, 17:00 »
For me, total earnings in SS in last 3 years are 10x higher than in DT. As to the number of sales, average monthly sale in DT now equals average daily sale in SS. And I have much more sales not only in IS and FT, but even Deposit Photos works for me better than DT. Sad, as I like DT and it was my first agency :(

DepositPhotos / Re: Deposit Photos - worth it?

Strange what you all write, because I have just an opposite opinion and I like Deposit Photos.
I submit to 18 (so almost all) agencies and for my portfolio the number of sales and income from Deposit Photos is on the third place after SS and FT but before even Dreamstime and 123RF.

General Stock Discussion / Re: Slavery

I happen to be a microstock contributor, and a publisher in another domain where I pay royalties to authors, so I know the business from both sides. And I feel comfortable as a contributor and I prefer agencies like SS, who pay me e.g. 20% but sell 1000 of my images, than other agencies that pay me 60% but sell one or two images in the same period of time. I am interested in my gross earnings and not in my share. Because I'm conscious how much money and work 7/24/365 it needs to promote the agency like SS to be nr 1 in the World and keep selling my images around the world in such a quantity. Never would I be able to do it myself. I shoot and postprocess my image once. Then they work and sell my image for several years.

I advise to all of you complaining just to open your own agency and try to compete with SS. Then you will understand what I mean.

I've got this email, too. My ~250 portfolio generated 3 sales in 2013, 0 sales in 2014 and 1 sale in 2015. In the same time about 2000 sales from a bit smaller porfolio in SS.
