I came here to find information on what was happening at SS and because of that I disabled my portfolio of 6500 images 5 minutes after first 10 cent sale. I was a level 5 contributor and it was a painful thing to do but after reading the forum's here and at SS i knew it had to be done and a strong message had to be sent to this boardroom about who really owns their products.
I hope all who are involved also disable/delete their portfolios on SS and move on to better things, as of the first of June SS has forced thousands of people just like me to literally start working for every business they are competing against and in the same market.
Personally i think that its a done deal that SS will never retract on this and are just waiting to see what the fallout does over time, most of the board members are from pre public ownership and have been in the industry for a long time and have seen when other stock agencies tanked like this for exactly the same reasons. So they are well aware that this was going to happen i think SS arose from the ashes of Istock anyway.
Anyways just wanted to show my support to you all and let you know there are more people with you than you think.
Above all remember there is also a global health pandemic to deal with so keep yourself and your loved ones as safe as you can.

Payments take about 2 weeks from end of month totals here in Australia anyways, then takes another week to go from PayPal to bank account for you hope that helps and congrats on making payout  Sean

I also take many photographs of strangers in my travel photography and submit them as editorial with no problems at all.
I do however check that the strangers in the images are not shown in any disparaging light that may embarrass them if they see and recognize themselves.
IE: a women's dress caught in the wind or someone stuffing a hamburger into their mouths or things of that nature.
It is up to you the photographer to initially decide were you draw the line on what is acceptable and for the very few times someone in the street has asked about why they may be in one of my photographs i always will show them the image i have just taken and find that they are always OK with it as they can find no hidden motive or agenda on my behalf.
Lastly though you should give regard to children and people with obvious police/military uniforms or insignia's as they may have sensitive information (serial no's etc)
But if any member of the public ask to not be in a photo they have seen me take I would also be happy to delete that image and take another without them in it think along the terms of women escaping domestic violence or any similar situations.
But in reality you will be OK 99% of the time as long as you behave in a proper manner and show respect to all.
FYI i will stand in an open area during any public photography and will be visible to all around me with my intentions quite clear that i am taking photographs of what is around me.

I just checked and found a lot of my photos here to , they all have Dreamstime watermarks although they are also on other sites as well as DT. Im new to the industry and not sure how to deal with this as its the first time i have become aware of my photos being used like this, Is it worth informing DT about this and will they do something about it as if its theft its theft from their site, have so far found 50 plus of my photos before i stopped looking in despair, and a lot of them have had the captions changed into other languages as well

Well I have just contacted DT with a link to my DT images on this site and I will let you all know how they reply

Hi All First time for me posting to the site but I have followed the threads for a while now and gained some valuable information and inspiration from you all so first my thanks for sharing your knowledge and experience. I think i saw a post here a while back about a java script that allows the locations of buyers on the map on my homepage to be shown. Could any one please point me in that direction and apologies if this has been covered before.
