mcuda, I would be carefull with making generalization like you did. Trust me, many people in third world have more honour and self respect than people in first world. I suggest you to be more carefull to not injure others  ::)
He didn't generalise, he said there would always be SOMEONE, that's not a generalisation. If he had said "all the togs in the Third World would shoot for pennies" that would have been an insulting generalisation. It's actually you who are generalising by effectively claiming that nobody in the Third World would do that, and then you decide that working for low wages shows a lack of self-respect, which it doesn't. You put your misinterpretations together and manage to make yourself feel insulted.
some parts of the USA are third world country. and soon it will be a third world president (donald clown) running the white house (if americans do not react soon)

What a disgusting move by 500px / KT.

Goes to show that KT apparently wasn't simply a messenger when they cut royalties at iStock in 2010. Now we see a clear pattern. Everywhere he goes, he turns promising ventures into turds.

What can you expect from Mr. Unsustainable?

He is only doing so well because he is up against a bunch of unelectable candidates.  I think he could do well against Hillary Clinton, as she has a lot of problems but surely he can't beat her because she acts vaguely human and has so much ammunition for the debates.  How can Trump pretend to hate her when he was a big fan a few years ago?  He is going to come unstuck at some point.  Nobody can switch political positions as much as he has and keep their credibility.  How will he avoid being hoist with his own petard?

who is more corrupted, the briber or the bribee?
I'm sure this guy wants to quit making "donations" and start receiving "donations" instead, and of course do his own businesses "donation free", a "tremendous" business, for him and his "associates".
At least Hillary does not plan to crucify 11 million immigrants, "punish" women for having abortions, start trade wars, etc. etc.
Very dangerous this "american Berlusconi", dangerous for USA and dangerous for the whole world

Trusting Trump is an act of faith, he says a million times he is going to make America Great again but he does not say how, he does not even believe in his own words. He is selling himself to the american people the same way he was selling apartments few years ago. He is the used car salesman of the politics.
Trusting Trump is trusting a guy that filed bankrrupcy several times, a guy with a "tremendous" ego. A guy that use hate and bullying to imposse himself over th others. He is the last person you want your children to take as a role model.
Trusting Trump is foolish.

If Trump ends up winning it'll be the biggest PUNK'D America has ever seen! LOL!

The only true that Trump has said so far is that if he wins, Mexicans will pay for a big wall. Of course they will, to stop Americans from entering Mexico running away from Trump's USA

Every country have the government their citizen's deserve. I hope Americans will never deserve to be governed by someone like Donald Clown.

Who? Yuri? The name rings a bell, think he was some guy who used to be relevant in microstock...

;)

Yuri is a guy who predicted 2 years ago that today all of us would be shooting with nokia smart phones.

Pd: Nokia used to be a finish brand name for smart phones,

I told you so, the chinese will buy getty and will squeeze even further photographers pockets

8
They did not sell splash to the chinese, but splash is empty, all photographers and executives that had a minimum experience in the business are gone, only bean counters are left to run a boat that is clearly sinking. Corporate BS killed Corbis and will soon kill Splash as well. Getty will be owned by the chinese in a very near future.

9
Looks like the chinese will eventually buy getty too.

Last place I would invest a penny is Deposit Photos

If you have your images for sale in DP, you deserve to be ripped off and abused. We all know who these guys are, their methods and their ways of making business since long time ago. Knowing all these facts if you are willing to stay in DP you deserve everything they decide to do with you.

12
Credit sales are not dead, Credit sales are murdered. Murdered because GI wants to squeeze the lemon even further in detriment of contributors pockets. Greed murdered credit sales in IS.

Corbis still owns veer? I understood many Corbis executives are leaving the company

General Stock Discussion / Re: Kelly Thompson to 500PX

It is worth to waste the time uploading to 500px? Sales, as far as I know, are an exceptional event, with or without mr Thompson

When a company becomes insolvent and its cash revenues are insufficient to support debt and operations, they often seek court-protection. And to do that, they have to file Chapter 11 bankruptcy. When that happens, it sends a serious chill to all stakeholders such as employees, vendors, suppliers, customers, etc.
There are two serious loan deadlines looming on the horizon in 2019 and 2020. So, it will be interesting to see what transpires between now and then.

Corbis is in big trouble too, executives are running out like mice out of a sinking ship

If they go bankrupt, can they still sell images without paying the contributors?

I do not see any name calling anywhere here, neither hate. Some people maybe think that not agreeing with the leader is equal to slander, name calling etc.
Yuri accurs not long time ago, HERE, in these forums made predictions that never happened, and today he write more analisys and predictions that maybe are true for him but not for the rest of us. During years he was the champion of being independent and suddenly he joined getty/istock exclusivity betraying his own principals. Why now he should be listened seriously? How he dare to came here to cry about name callings inviting critics to go to his own web site where he can easily control better and maybe censor what  we say about his predictions and statements?
I will not be surprised if in the future he join adobe as exclusive star if conditions are better for HIS own interest there and came back with new statements and predictions.
Yuri should be respected, yes, but he first has to respect himself and the others.

We are talking about the same guy that predicted couple of years ago that today every photographer (including his photographers) were going to be using nokia smartphones in their photoshoots instead of DSLRs

i would maybe agree with yuri if I could have the same deal of exclusivity he has with getty, the same percentage or comission (above any other exclusive), the possibility to sell my pictures in other places beside GI owned, content privileges etc

iStockPhoto.com / Re: New One month subscription plan
« on: October 08, 2015, 13:04 »
This scam might bring them some extra cash in the short term but it will mean the end of getty in short-medium term. The genius that came with the idea might get a cash bonus by the end of the year. He better keep it because soon he is going to be looking for a job

23
How can they call it subscription? They are selling credits packs and calling it "subscription" in order to steal the money from their own contributors? How can one remain exclusive of these kind of con artists? They must be desperate for cash what means that they must be going out of business soon.

Soon news will be Istock/GI going out of business, their karma sucks

25
This is a scam and an insult to exclusive contributors. It makes no sense to remain exclusive. Shame on stock/getty
