Dreamstime.com / Is it worth going exclusive these days?
« on: April 30, 2016, 10:22 »
I don't have a large portfolio (220 images), but I upload them to about 10 different agencies. I earned most on Shutterstock definitely, on second place Istock, and the third is DT. I have few exclusive images and they do have a lot more views and downloads, but, is it worth going exclusive on DT these days?

General Stock Discussion / How do you sort your files?
« on: December 22, 2015, 13:26 »
I have about 450 stock photos on my hard drive, which are all numbered, but they weren't uploaded on all sites, and some of them are skipped at some sites.
For example:
on Shutterstock, i uploaded all from 0-450
On Istock:  0-100, then 220-315
Fotolia: 0-15, then 100-130
and so on...

I'm already loosing track of what I uploaded and where, so I'm looking for an idea how to keep everything tracked so I know what I'm doing.
Do any of you have any advice? Like writing it in Excel or something like that...
Thank you in advance!

Hello everyone. I'm Alex from Serbia and I'm newbie on this forum, but not new to stock photography.

The question is next:

Over a time of almost 3 years, I've been uploading stock photos to 5-6 different agencies, but I haven't put much effort into it, so on every of those sites, I have approx. 200 images in portfolios. Over that time, I have earned about $600 totally, which is ok for how much effort i have put into it.
- Now I want to put it to the next level and start serious uploading. One thing I learned from not being frequent is that on some agencies (Istock, Dreamstime, Fotolia), the earnings stop increasing as soon as I stop being frequent in uploading new photos, and agencies like Shutterstock, Photodune still keep going even if I don't upload for months, by Shutterstock being the best at it.

What I was wondering is, will my photos maybe be seen better by buyers if I cancel all of my accounts and start from beginning, or should I just keep on with this accounts and be more frequent? It may seem crazy, but I don't know their philosophy of showing your pictures to buyers, as that definitely changes by how frequent you are, more on some sites and less on other...

Thanks in advance!
Alex
