Hi

Considering that we've all started to test new agencies it would be amazing if you could update the FTP server for YAYimages (video upload) sftp://intake.yayimages.com and maybe build in support to submit to them

Some changes
- They now support editorial
- They have a new FTP for video sftp://intake.yayimages.com
- They have support for video now

As always, love Stock Submitter

+1

But I don't think they support editorial. As far as I know, they used to but stopped some time ago but they kept selling their old editorial content.

Curious to know what people are getting paid for on demand sales.
Yesterday I got two, $2.75 and $3.28. I am level 4.
I was not expecting that much to be honest, but apart from that it is a disaster...

Just got 10c on demand. The same as the subs. I should feel lucky that I also got 50c demand. Wow.

 :'(

What? 10c on demand!?

Do it Adobe!

Yes it would be great if Adobe started to accept editorial (not just illustrative editorial) images and footage.

Dreamstime.com / Re: Dreamstime increasing royalties

Smart move by Dreamstime! They say they want to help during this pandemic trying times but I feel it is more a response to Shutterstock new earning structure. Hopefully more agencies will act fast to destabilize Shutterstock even more.

123RF / Re: 123rf no longer accepting video?
« on: April 03, 2020, 08:49 »
got a weird difficult to understand message from 123rf where they are saying they are no longer accepting video.

Yes, strangely worded email. I had to read it two or three times to understand what is was about (and Google search Inmagine)

They say they will send out an invitation to selected contributors to participate, but to participate in what exactly? A new stock footage library?

Adobe Stock / Re: I cannot see my recent photos in portfolio
« on: February 25, 2020, 03:44 »
Hello Everyone!
I've uploaded about 90 photos last week and they were all approved. The problem is that I cannot see those photos in my portfolio nor they are coming up by searching them on adobe stock with any keywords possible. Is this normal or some kind of error?

Thanks in advance!

This is a known issue that the time between approval and visibility in specific portfolios is slower than usual right now. To my knowledge, this should be back to normal reasonably soon.

Thank you,

Mat Hyaward

Thank you Mat

I have just used the 'contact us' form on Adobe Stock. You will find a contact button in the bottom left of your dashboard page.

Same issue here. What is more concerning is that they are not showing in a regular search by keywords. I contacted them a few days ago and then received an email saying that my case was closed and resolved but it is not, my files are still nowhere to be found. Since then I had new files approved with the same result.
I already had this happened to me some months ago. Since then I always check that all my newly approved files are indexed in their database. But everything seemed to work fine recently until the last one or twee weeks.
Hope they fix that quickly because it is really frustrating. And the longer it takes for them to index your 'lost' files, the more buried they are by new content when doing a search sorted by most recent.

Great news even if I am not emerald (yet)!

The only one I know is Mostphotos but don't expect huge sales there.
Also on Alamy for time sensitive editorial pictures you can send them to their Live News upload service but you have to apply first.

Canva / Re: Canva - did I miss something?
« on: July 08, 2019, 04:21 »
My sales dropped very dramatically as well. Canva went from hero to zero very quickly, it had became my top site by earning, but I knew it was not solid because the majority of my sales came from just a handful of pictures.
At the beginning of the year and until beginning of May, I was averaging at least 50 downloads per day, in June it was less than 5 per day.
From my stats, I noticed the drop started on May 3.

So I decided to contact Canva support and I got this reply:

"Thank you for reaching out to us.

Yes, we're aware of the decline in contributor sales and it's something we're looking to improve.

The decline will be as a result of the Getty partnership as well as a free images experiment that we ran (now finished). Both of these are efforts to keep users happy (content to fulfill all search queries and free images, respectively) however we've become aware that there is a major downside which is a decline in contributor sales.

We value the ongoing contribution our generous contributors make to Canva, and so as I said we really want to remedy this asap."

Canva / Re: How are the earnings going?
« on: February 07, 2019, 03:34 »
For the first time in January Canva became my best earner in front of SS, and this despite having a couple of good footage sales on SS.
I don't understand why Canva is not even in the middle tier agencies.

Needs 50 votes to get a rating and tier number.

I did not know.

Are you specialized in backgrounds?

Not really but it is a handful of background pictures that makes the majority of my sales.

Definitely Fotolia! Transitioning from FT to AS is tough...

Sales on Alamy can be reported months later. So September might have been good but we will see the result of that in the coming months.
I had a picture licensed for one use in a single editorial article on 07 November 2015 and the sale appeared in my Alamy account on 13 June 2016.
Let's wait and see...

General Stock Discussion / Re: Adobe Stock and Fotolia
« on: October 05, 2016, 03:45 »
I notice that the ninety percent of the latest downloads are coming from Adobe Stock. The email announcing the sale come from Adobe. I know...The order of the factors does not alter the product. That seems to show the power of Adobe cloud.

How do you know if a download is from Fotolia or Adobe stock?

I haven't noticed any sale increase since Adobe bought Fotolia, disappointing...

The Photojpeg looks much better but as stated by Shooter I have experienced some banding gradients.
I know Photojpeg is the preferred codec at Videoblocks. I do not think other agencies state their preferences regarding codecs.
So I use photojpeg now except if I have banding.

Alamy.com / Re: New to Alamy? Read this! :-)

Hi James,
Coming from microstock it is difficult to know which images to submit to Alamy rather than the other agencies.
If I am correct RF pictures can be sold on Alamy and the microstock agencies as well but not the RM ones?
Thanks!
Thomas

Hi Thomas. You can sell the same images on Alamy as you do on microstock sites but you shouldn't have conflicting licence types - so if you're selling work as RF elsewhere it needs to be RF on Alamy as well.

Likewise, if you've got RM work on other agencies, just make sure you place it as RM on Alamy too.

If you've got any other questions, just let me know.

Cheers

James A

Thanks James.
