They have always had the date in the dateline. Don't blame somebody else for you not reading the instructions. Now you know why they are rejected, and click bottom box for editorial not anything for released.

Thank you, thanks to all. I agree I was not attentive with captions' rules. But anyone has a right of erring, isn't it?  ;)  If there was a feedback not like "editorial flagging problem" etc, it should have been much easier and I won't start this thread. However I am glad if it made any use to someone else.

Meanwhile, their RELEASED flag in connection with submitted images definitely means they were set to EDITORIAL mode. If you work with SS, check it yourself. That is really not too precise, alas.

Now I will resubmit all these pix and look what happens.

.
coincidentally, that happened to me many times...
which i too suspect there is a certain fool there in editorials.

Thank you indeed... That's what I was thinking, too. The worst problem here is that I am badly loosing time submitting to be rejected if the answer is so simple  :o

Don't you know, what might be the right contact there to address a polite question? I keep both rejected submissions live still at the SS site, so probably if there will be someone ready to examine the case of double rejecting the same content with wrong attribution, and their system stores the source data intact, he would easily see what may be wrong.

Otherwise I feel myself like a fool. Or being left, which is not a big difference

Netscape? Is someone forcing you to use Windows 95? Illegal Operation once for yes, twice for no.

Not at all, of course, nothing illegal. Sorry to name if so old name. To be exact, that's Mozilla Firefox v. 45, just checked  ;)
I have it at both home and office machnies, with Windows 7 (okay, not so modern, too, but that's real - and generally I have no problems with these)

I've been having similar troubles sometimes.
are you sending from your mobile app? i think sometimes the mobile app doesn't update with the newest changes to metadata before you hit submit and its bugging the heck out of me.

I was using ordinary desktop tool with Netscape, from 2 different locations, to upload

Preview in ZIP file? I wouldn't open that file.

It is exactly meaning that the images are set to editorial. If thhe "released" valye shows N, it means that it is NOT editorial and requires release

What I can see in your screenshots is a "Y" for "released", not sure if that means you set the images to "editorial". Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

I did not apply dates to captions, only the location. Before they never claim that there should be the date as essential, too.

I have a persisting problem uploading to Shutterstock.

First time I faced to that about 2 weeks ago, when after posting a batch of photos I received total rejection for a large part of it with similar reason like "Attribute images with proper captions and set them to Editorial". Then I thought I made a mistake when setting up the upload menus.

But two days ago I faced to total rejection due to same reason. Okay, I thought again; maybe I'm badly wrong and doing all wrong - so I tried again with same pictures, yesterday. To be sure that I've done right, I made screenshots of the Shutterstock content editor pages, where it is vividly seen that all photos WERE set to Editorial mode.

But - oh, God - tonight I get the same response. Rejected. All. Because of "captions and editorial mode".

Does anyone know what may be wrong? All pictures HAD unique captions (like "this-type-tram running there and there", etc., as I photograph mostly transportation and especially trams) and were flagged as editorial, as it can be seen from the shots.

Many thanks for your care. I really feel badly disappointed and upset because oif loosing so much time on that with zero effect. If the pics were rejected because of quality reasons, it should not be so troubling, because understandible. But this what happens looks totally different. I applied also to the SS support with that problem but don't believe they will be fast responding if even responding with something beyond patternalized phrases from the "About", so I need help from the community.

The SS initial confirmation screens for my two uploads, where from one may see those "Ys" showing that pix were actually set as editorias, are here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/zn0pz4tugqpp1kv/ss_upload_screens_editorial.zip?dl=0

And here are some specimens of what I'm uploading to there, just for your reference (maybe they do not want such content?) https://www.dropbox.com/s/z792yqo7v69u3jb/ss_pix_specimens.zip?dl=0
