I've been using this for almost two years, submitted some bug reports and some feature suggestions.

I have to say I've had very few problems with it. I really like it (apart from the lack of a decent scroll bar).

I was ALMOST expecting long term beta users to be able to continue using it for free, and definitely expecting a discount, thinking maybe $1.99/month max. But $6 a month is around about 5% of my monthly take, which I think is a lot for something which doesn't aid productivity that much.

For that reason, with regret, I'm also out. Shame.

I'm doing photography full time and I would like to do some heart surgery at a side. I'm not so interested in the money but I love the comments I do get from my kids and their friends after I successfully band-aided them. I can imagine people are even more thankfully after a successful heart surgery so any tips to get into the business and to offer my free surgery service would be very much appreciated.
Best post I've read in ages :)

iStockPhoto.com / Re: June statement is here
« on: July 20, 2017, 08:51 »
Most of the sales reported in the "June Statement" were actually from May. So my May suddenly became BME, but June was a disaster. Maybe my June sales will be repored on 20th August?

Anyone else?

Hi BN

To me, the cups look very blue/grey, and the coffee looks very yellow.

Did you apply a "Hollywood Blockbuster Movie Teal and Orange" filter?  ;)

Can't tell how sharp they are, but other than that, submit and see. I've sold a few tea/coffee shots, and if you were there anyway, and drank the coffee, then as Paul says it didn't cost you anything!

I had a $5.73 sale today, the first this year
30% for Alamy, 40% as Distributor commission and 30% ($1.72) for me!

Yeah, Alamy is great!!

I'll take $1.72 over 25 cents any day! :D
Hmm, yes, but I'll take 10 a day at 25c, over one a month at $1.72, any month...
Of course, if you're GETTING 10 a day at $1.72, that's great :)

Still broken here in UK, and Adobe site also not working  :(

As far as putting type on the image, I would not suggest it. It limits your sales, and designers can add it if they choose to.

You need to be careful with spelling too. Coffee is wrong.  ;)

 :o :o :o
I just got notified that of the 123 I submitted a few weeks ago, 73 were accepted!
That's 59%

The usual random rejections though, some accepted that were rejected elsewhere, best-sellers elsewhere rejected here...

My first submission of 10, they rejected 9. Maybe about 100 is the optimum number to submit ;)

Of course, sales are the proof of the pudding, but I might as well submit some more.

Newbie Discussion / Re: How long until I make sales?

Hi Rachel

To be honest I'm not sure  :)

IMO you have a nice portfolio, and your keywords look OK too. 104 is still very small though. I have just under 500 at present, and at the moment on SS I'm not even getting 1 subs sale per day.

SS is definitely going through a bad patch for SOME contributors. I know my sales haven't gone up in relation to the number of images.

I would also submit to BS (high acceptance rate, relatively easy submit process, OK RPD - Return per Download) and IS (use DeepMeta to submit, takes a long while for sales to pick up but you should eventually gain traction).

FT (Adobe) sales a re less frequent than SS, but RPD is much higher.

So in short, keep doing what you're doing, and expand your agency list. Alternatively some people advocate going exclusive with your best images, maybe on FT or IS, but I haven't tried this myself.

Good luck

Ha ha, I got 1 out of 8 accepted, that's 12.5% :)

Ironically, these 8 were the same 8 photos that I submitted as my initial portfolio, which was accepted. Mad.

Anyway, I think I'll adopt the "throw all my mud and see what sticks" approach. Like someone said, it's an easy submission process...
