http://www.picmatch.ca/Home/Pricing/EN there's this never used it

Its a bit pricey!  360 for 10000 images - I had that number in PB........

I am amazed with all the photographers out there that there isn't an easy way of finding infringements  :o ::)

Am I missing something or isn't easier just to put the image in Google images? I believe a while back someone was publicising a batch process to do this? You can add copyright info via many cameras. I'm not sure its a very time effective pursuit tbh and bear in mind someone could easily strip out the exif data.

I can search the for images one at a time..............  I was thinking there might be a quicker way to do it.

Realised that EXIF can be stripped, but might not happen every time.

I've had a couple of instances now where I've found someone has used one of my images without permission.

Because of the Photobucket problem I am re-uploading my pictures to other storage places and I want to "watermark" them so that I can find if there is any infringement in the future. They already have a visible watermark on them.

What I want to know how to do is to put a unique string of text in to the picture information (EXIF data?) so that I can search for that to pull the images up in Google Images.

There are some ads on the detail pages - small ones from Google I think. It looks more like something you would have seen 10 years ago by someone who thought they could make money on this sort of thing. Doubt if it earns very much these days.

Steve

Ah, adverts.  Well running Ad-blockers means I don't see them......

Thanks for that.

Always, always pursue infringements if you are certain your work has been used commercially without license. Most of my work is RM and I chase every infringer with the threat of legal action. I make a significant income from infringers each year - plus, it teaches them a valuable lesson and deters them from illegally using images in the future.

If we all simply shrug our shoulders when people use our work without permission then there is no incentive for these people to buy licenses.

Is that site a commercial site?  Where are they getting their money from?

I've had a picture removed from here (http://www.cheshirenow.co.uk/links.htm) because they had stolen it from an online photosharing site.

I've asked for a payment, and they have dodged the issue by not mentioning it in their reply.

My apologies for not replying sooner, as I usually do not check emails at weekends.

This image was sent to us, we were not aware at the time of posting it that there were copyright issues regarding it. The image has  been removed from our site today on receipt of your email. Please accept our very sincere apologies.

Pursue, or not pursue, that is the question - any advice welcome.

General Stock Discussion / Re: Bridge Cameras

Thanks for your help.

I've tried Alamy and Shutterstock with the FZ38 and they have rejected everything I've uploaded (for various reasons).  It seems like it take 10 minutes to get into the Shutterstock dashboard because of the "I am not a robot" captcha - perhaps they are psyching people up to the tedium of adding titles & tags and then spending 10 minutes trying to get the system to accept that I can actually spell Scarborough correctly.

Really - how much of this stuff is WWW bound to be shown on rubbish monitors, how much is going to be used for throw-away publications and how much is actually going to be printed out 4A0 and bigger..........

Bridge Cameras - are they suitable for Stock Photography?

I have a Panasonic Lumix FZ38 and a Panasonic Lumix FZ82.

Thanks.
