Basically it looks like business as usual .....the apocalypse is postponed but the growth in images vs incomes means we will have to pedal faster to stay in the same place......or work smarter

Wright... And as he said on page two: "And despite the significant quantity of submissions we receive daily, we still review every single piece of the content to ensure it meets the rigorous quality standards we have implemented." I really don't agree with that. A lot of junk (example: http://www.shutterstock.com/pic.mhtml?id=379512685&src=id) is added every day, I mean if you just make a regular search, you'll know what I mean exactly.
For them it is maybe a good sales increase, but for us, the contributors, is a total loss, because we are not any more visible in search, as we were before year 2015. And I am not talking about quality, I am sure we all are getting better, but about quantity...

Hi

It looks great to me, I like the way that images move and how they stop when you pass over the mouse.
Who knows, maybe will make some serious money too, in the future, not only promote artists...

The good thing is that they take copyright protection very serious.
This is very important, for photographers, this days.

StockFresh / Re: eps vector upload stockfresh
« on: February 26, 2013, 01:35 »
Actually, I wasn't talking about using 3d tool, just illustrations that are more complex, and that contains a lot of elements, in the end they end saved with more than 15 MB, sometimes more than 20 MB too.

Think about a nice texture witch you just have finnished and it has 22 MB. No open pats, strokes or whatever.
Just simple curves or any ather drawing elements, but many of them. And you can use it just as a preview, because the vector it's too big.

It is full of simple illustrations on the web and I think that the simple is good, it sales good too. But if it's complicated, it doesn't matter that doesn't have potential.

Hello Peter,

Any chance in the future to upgrade the size for eps\jpeg uploaded to SF to be bigger than 20MB?
I know that SS size for vectors is just 15 MB, but I think they should make it bigger too.
Thanks

General Stock Discussion / Re: Any Ivantaggi contributors here?
« on: February 12, 2013, 03:53 »
Hi again,

It looks that you don't have to bother with the keywords and categories, after all.
This is a part of an email that came from them, just today:

"When you finish loading, send me an email confirmation and will charge our employee to add tags and categories to your images."

Now, you will choose alone if you want to join them or not. FTP is easy to use, after all.
Good luck

how consuming is that for an agency we pretty much will end up with 1 or 2 sales a year?

p.s: and its down!

Hmmm, good to know, thanks

Hi there,

I just joined them, and awaiting the pending process.
Did you have uploaded something yet, or not?

« on: February 06, 2013, 06:13 »
For those that have a SS account, they can see this link, after they are logged:

http://submit.shutterstock.com/refinfo.mhtml

So, if it's like this, it cannot be done. Am I wrong, or what?
Of course, the link will change, probably, shortly.

I agree with Ember Mike, not nice from SS. I would have prefered the old version of referral program.

Nice clean layout, and it seems they are also selling photos.

We're probably losing a lot of opportunities by sticking to American and European agencies only but...
we could even manage to find out where's the signup button but what if they require keywording in Japanese?

They don't require keyworing in Japanese. They are translating the keywords for you.
The only thing is that you'll have to send the signed agreement to them by post, so it will take a while.
After that, you'll have to wait also for the review process, maybe a month or two.
In my case, they said it will be a month or two. :D

Good luck

New Sites - General / Re: Art Film Stock
« on: August 31, 2011, 10:31 »
We are contacting the contributors directly.

Please contact me also, I want a ftp account. Do you sell only jpeg illustrations, or I can upload vectors also?

Thank you

Sure, we will contact you shortly. Our team is now moving all files to the new system.
We plan to go live next week with it. Can we ask you to wait until then?

Sure, I'll wait. No problem for me.

I would love to hear your thoughts on the contributor area - any suggestions for improvement or general feedback would be greatly welcomed.

1922 IMAGES WAITING REVIEW FOR MORE THAN 60 DAYS!!! CAN I SUGGEST A REVIEW? IS THAT TOO MUCH? OH, ALSO, CAN YOU ANSWER EMAILS TOO? THAT WOULD BE SO NICE, THANK YOU ON BEHALF OF ALL SUBMITTERS....

Oh yeah, it would be very nice to see the our files reviewed, this year if possible. My problem is that my files are not any more in pending, they are not refuzed or approved. I would like to know why.

On the other hand, I am happy that Isignstock has sales, maybe if the review could be better and somebody would answer e-mails, everithing would be great.
Thank you, Johnnie, in advance, if you'll answer .

Yep, that's Anglee's way of telling you that they rejected everything.   ;D

Hmmm, don't think so. They are one of my best sellers also, and I don't even remember them rejecting anything.
Of course, it doesn't sell like SS, but it is somewhere around FT and DT for me.
All I can say is that for me 123rf rules.

Cutcaster / Re: Zipping files for Cutcaster, and rasters...
« on: March 07, 2011, 17:51 »
It's no difference about the zip files for fotolia. If they are zipped together in one archive, that doesn't mean that they are in a folder. They want to say that you shouldn't put them first in one folder and later to zip that folder. Just select the vector and jpeg and send them to one zip archive, after that upload that archive to cutcaster.
I'm not sure if they can generate jpegs, all I know is that I am uploading the same zip files that I use to upload to fotolia, with http, and they go without problems to cutcaster.

If you need more assistance, ask John, he will answer you quickly. Email him here: [email protected]

I hope that helps.

Hey Leaf, you should say something about vectors too. I'm sure they are also vector newbies here, too...

You just replied to a rumour that was five years old. Five years is a long time in microstock.

Yep, you're wright. No problem for me, thought.

Newbie Discussion / Re: checking views at different sites
« on: March 02, 2011, 04:34 »
Hi,

I am not sure you can do that, still, you can check your downloads for your images, pressing "more" button in the write bottom of the page, then "download stats of your images".

Maybe I'm wrong, but I remember I never was able to see my views for my images on 123rf.

I have about 1000 illustrations in pending for about one year, they completely forgot me. Sales... nothing yet. 15 files online. I think I'll quit this one.

StockXpert.com / Re: January 2011 Earnings Posted
« on: February 24, 2011, 09:29 »
Great, I have found some money, in there... ;) Totally, 42$. Not bad, for a month. It is good to know that they are still promoting my stuff. Thank you, Stockxpert, or Thinkstock, or whatever... Good luck everyone.

Anyone, have a clue how to submit to Thinkstock? If not on Istock, as an accepted contributor? Thanks!

robertosch

Yes, a number of clues:

There is only one way now, be an accepted IS contributor and allow Partner Program "PP" sales from there. All images are not automatically sold on ThinkStock. It also seems that nothing has moved from IS to ThinkStock in six months. That's not for sure, but from various reports from individuals.

Previously anyone who was accepted at StockXpert could have their portfolio transferred to ThinkStock, but we had no choice, they went through a migration review, so some photos didn't make it.

Not confusing enough? IS also has partner sales on Photos.Com from the partner program, but not necessarily the same images that got selected for ThinkStock. So some things I have are for sale on three sites, some on two and a small number only on one. Good luck!

Here's the good news, they are now offering 28c per download (12% raise for those who like percentages) with is a huge 2 cents less than when people were happy with Photos.Com sales. Maybe people can make that up in volume? ;) Every extra sale covers the shortage for each 14 sales that they used to get on Photos.com. In no time it will add up to enough for a McDonalds dollar menu item.

My first download on ThinkStock was July 2010, one sale for the whole month. Last StockXpert commissions were listed as January 2010. OD downloads were $1 and subs were 30 cents.

So if you were going to jump in for the 28c sales, too bad, you need to be accepted at IS or there's no way to get images up for Sub sales on ThinkStock. (or Photos.com if I read that site right?)  Photos.com is not affiliated with StockXpert

Thanks a lot, Race Photo. You've been the only one with a good response to my question.
Wish you great sales, everywhere.

Somebody must have very slow reflexes, it's week after Easter :-)

Well, Merry Christmas, then. And a happy new year with lots of sales. Ho, Ho, Ho.

Thanks a lot Roberto. I'll upload more  ;)

You are welcome. And try to improve your skills every day. The better you are, more sales you will have. You don't need only many images, but also good ones. You need to work hard, and the money will come.

Good luck
