General Stock Discussion / I was given 10.000 videos lol
« on: July 23, 2022, 18:50 »
I have friends that work in the artificial intelligence field, they record thousands of videos and images so that they can train the A.I to recognize things on it's own.
Today I saw the folder of one of my friends and suggested them that they should upload it to microstock websites, they weren't interested, thought it was too much of a hassle and told me "You can do it if you want".
So now I have a folder containing 10.000 videos, most of them being 1920x1080 (Some are 4k) lol. (Example of what the videos look like: https://stock.adobe.com/video/large-crocodile-lies-in-the-water-panorama-over-the-body-of-a-crocodile-panning-shot-of-an-alligator-laying-in-the-swamps-alligator-is-a-large-crocodile-in-the-water/209268716?prev_url=detail)

Seems like the main website that I will be using is adobe stock, shutterstock only allows 100 videos a week so it will take me years to upload everything, my 123rf submissions are still stuck on 'Pending' for about a month now, and from what I read here the other websites have very low sales, so it's not even worth uploading there.

So the question is... How much you think I'm going to be making? I know the industry isn't like what it once was, but I except atleast a couple hundred dollars every month, since the videos sells better than photos.

The reason why I'm writing this thread is because I started uploading 2 weeks ago, I have around 5000 videos in the portfolio and I made a grand total of:

So my exciting is turning to disappointment, anyone with experience here can tell me if it gets better??
Thank you!

Antivirus detected BatchPurifier as a Trojan :o.

Is there a software that deletes specific metadata from multiple images at once? Thanks.

I did all those things except for the last one, the model chose to use their name as their signature, what should I tell them? Should I use a cursive font instead?

General Stock Discussion / How do I fill a model release?
« on: June 14, 2022, 14:52 »
So my model release was rejected without any reason given, can someone show me how I should fill it?
I used random info but it will give you an idea on how I filled it:

I have thousands of pictures of models, but they are all inside the same folder, what's the fastest way to organize each model in their own folder?
I'm using Adobe Lightroom's facial recognition, but it crashes a lot and does a lot of mistakes, I still need to do a lot of manual work which takes hours and hours.

Is there a more reliable / faster method?

Knowing shutterstock... It's hard to be optimistic about this.

I just uploaded 100 pictures to 3 sites, it took me half a day even with the AI keyword tool and stuff, and I have thousands more.
There must be a quicker way to upload these files, what would you recommend?

You can still make money if you make quality images/templates/illustrations.
I would say the majority cannot rely on this market to survive, it has become a 'side thing', especially when you compare how things were before.
You shouldn't be discouraged, but do other stuff on the side, maybe freelancing, YouTube etc.. (Which are saturated as well, but I think you have a bigger chance at succeeding and making good money).

Couldn't make even a hundred dollars a month with a portfolio of one thousand items.
Not worth it.

since SS has a minimum for payout & they pay automatically at the end of the month, there wouldn't be any funds available earlier.  if you have them send to paypal that would, of course, be usable to DL

Of course, but I can't use PP right now, I was looking for a website similar to graphicriver that has a normal review process.

Hello!
I'm interested in buying stock videos but there are some problems/limitations with my credit card at the moment, since I'm a contributor I would like to use my generated revenue to buy them directly, problem is Shutterstock does not allow for that, during the checkout only PayPal and Credit Card options appear, what websites allow you to do that?
I know GraphicRiver does but I lost all hopes for that website, seems like the review process is just a coin flip, I have had templates that generated me hundreds of sales in other marketplaces only for them to get hard rejected because of being 'Low Quality' but yeah..
Thank you!

Hey there!

A series of unfortunate events just dropped out of nowhere into my life, the most crucial ones being me losing my job and a member of my family needing some important and expensive medications.
And, in my country, finding another job is close to impossible because of the pandemic.

If I can't earn anything the next few months, I will literaly not be able to survive.

So, after some days filled with panic and suicidal thoughts, I started looking for ways to earn money on the internet, I picked up an Illustrator course and started learning to make flyers/business cards... With the intention of uploading them to all microstock websites.

But after reading this forum, it was really depressing to learn about the effect of the pandemic on the market, and the SS changes.

So, I just want to ask, if I work all day long, and produce 100 vectors a day, can I expect to make ateast 500$ a month? Just the time to find a job.

Thank you!

General - Stock Video / Re: how upload to istock ?

I think $150-250 a month for 90 videos is pretty good.

Newbie Discussion / Re: why can't I start a new thread?

It seems like I can't start a new thread even though I have a couple of posts, any idea why ?

What do you mean by "special signature videos"?

Thank you very much!

You need to improve your skills.

You need to make something there isn't already an abundance of.

I'm going to focus on these two.

19
I'll let you interpret those numbers.

Ok you convinced me  ;D

Can I ask you where do you get access to those stats?

they've not confirmed whether the change is permanent yet.

They said the conversion rate increased for about 5% in Videohive and 50% in themeforest, and they're very happy with that.
In the thread related to the announcement, 99% of the elite and non-elite authors are unhappy about the sales drop, and they're threatening to leave the site.. but again.. Envato have shown time and time again that they don't care about the authors, so as long as they don't lose money, I don't think they're going to change anything.

And as Pond 5 show best match rather than newest... there's no guarantee you'll show up top there either.
In best match there's a mix between new items and best sellers, so if you put the right tags/description etc.. you might get some visibility, unlike VH.

Quote
No other agency comes anywhere close to the sales numbers.
Well that's not the case anymore, unless you have a bunch of best sellers items, all newest items are invisible.
Take a look at the Top new authors of the month, they used to have between 20 and 200 sales, now it's hardly 10 sales for each one, that's just sad.

I guess I'll start uploading in Pond5 and see what's going, at worst I'll just take my templates and put them somewhere else.

Hi!

I recently decided to start selling After Effects templates, the first website that came to mind was VideoHive, but if forcing you to sell your templates at a very low price, reject 80% of your items, and take more than a half of your money wasen't enough, they made an update that makes it impossible to find new items, they only advertise best sellers now.

So while searching for an alternative, I found Pond5, I would like to know your opinion about it ? Is it possible to start making a living there? Even for a (really motivated) new member? How much sales do you make on average? How long are the review times?

And if it isn't worth it, anyone knows any other alternative?

Thank you very much.
