General Stock Discussion / Crestock uploads suspended for months???
« on: September 05, 2018, 05:14 »
Just checked in with Crestock and found the following message:

"Uploads Unavailable
Please note that we are not accepting any new content for several months as we prepare for major changes to our IT infrastructure. Apologies for the inconvenience this may cause."

SEVERAL MONTHS?!! Getting a really bad feeling about them. I'd just like to keep going long enough to get my FIRST payment from them, after many years, but I think in the long run I'm just going to end up losing what I've accrued and never get to a payoff amount.

Still upgrading their server. How long does that actually take? I'm starting to wonder.

Me too.  I've been trying to access files I sent through FTP for three or four days, and I keep getting that same message.

They closed on 11th Feb and all business has been transferred to IS. Why would you expect the site to be 'up'?

I thought they said they were going to maintain the site for access to account information.  ???

I had four sales fairly consecutively back in May-June 2008, but nothing since then.

Print on Demand Forum / Re: Any experience with Zazzle?
« on: August 24, 2009, 08:50 »
I've been on Zazzle as SJS Creations since March of 2008, and a few days ago I sold my 100th item.  Mostly it's been small stuff (stickers, postcards, a few posters), but occasionally I get a decent big sale.  The traffic on it is pretty steady, but I advertise my store on Myspace, Facebook and Craigslist.  It's fun, but it can be time consuming sometimes.  If you want to take a look, my store is at the following link: http://www.zazzle.com/sjstevenson*

New Sites - General / Trouble With Fotomind Site?
« on: May 26, 2009, 00:24 »
Has anyone else besides me been having trouble logging into the Fotomind site?  I haven't been able to log in for a while (it seems like weeks).  It just takes forever to load and never goes anywhere.  Same if I try the "Contact Us" link to contact them directly and get information.  Just stays on the home page and loads forever.  Nothing.

Press release issued by Canstock on 11-12-08 as follows:

Stock Photography Company Can Stock Photo Inc. Acquired
(Halifax, Canada November 12, 2008) As the result of an acquisition, microstock innovator Can Stock Photo Inc. is now an affiliate of stock photography pioneer Fotosearch. As part of the new relationship, Fotosearch will distribute Can Stock Photo imagery, allowing Can Stock Photos contributors access to the robust worldwide distribution network Fotosearch has built over the past 10 years. Can Stock Photo contributors will be able to present their stock photos to millions of Fotosearch visitors every week.
Contributors to Can Stock Photo will further benefit by having their images marketed as prints and their best content licensed in a professional brand. Its only been a few days and weve already had a tremendous amount of interest from photographers in adding new content to Can Stock Photo as a result of this relationship with Fotosearch, said Can Stock Photos founder, Duncan Enman.
Can Stock Photo will continue to operate as a separate company, and its already easy-to-use upload process has been improved to accept vector files. Further enhancements to the site will be made in the near future, including the acceptance of footage content. As a result of the new owners growth strategy, Can Stock Photo will be marketing its website more aggressively to attract even more stock photography buyers. Enman, who created Can Stock Photo while a university student in Nova Scotia, Canada, will remain involved with Can Stock Photo.
Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

« on: March 07, 2008, 17:31 »
I am surprised that more people are not upset with the 50% acceptance rule.

Lets drive the conclusions home:

1. You have a portfolio of lets say a 100 images, some sales, some money in your account and about 65% acceptance rate

2. You continue uploading, but most of your images are rejected and your acceptance rate falls to 49%

3. Now you are blocked from further uploading. Do you understand what this means? There is NO WAY to raise your acceptance rate without more uploading and you have just been banned (forever?) from further uploading.

4. Now your 100 pics online are locked in forever, your $40 in pending payout money are blocked forever, and all you can do is hope that the pics you've got online will one day bring you enough money for minimal payout, but you are practically banned from EVER uploading to the site again (unless you open another account)

Am I the only one who thinks this is outrageous????

The following was posted on CanStockPhoto's forum today:

Just one thing I don't get. If someone does go below 50% rating, are they effectively barred forever from uploading, it's not made clear. So once they go under the 50% they might as well leave, is that what it's saying?
How will it work? How can they get back to uploading?

It seems this question is still waiting for an answer. I'm sure there are several that would like to hear this answer. Duncan???????

RESPONSE FROM DUNCAN:  March 7, 2008:

Actually I answered it in the thread about upload limits.

For the time being we are allowing a 1/day limit for people below 50%. This is subject to change, but gives them the opportunity to carefully raise their rating back up.

Zymmetrical.com / Re: Zymmetrical questions
« on: February 03, 2008, 00:25 »
I had the same problem with their FTP upload, too, and I sent a note to them about it.  I got the following response from Keith...

"It seems our FTP server is not registering the new artist accounts in it's database as it should be - we are investigating and I will drop you a note when this is repaired."

I checked earlier today and it still wasn't functional, but they are working on it.

General Stock Discussion / Re: Fotomind?
« on: January 08, 2008, 22:20 »
I've had one sale for .60 since joining in October of '07.  The biggest problem I'm having at this point is getting the balance of my portfolio reviewed.  I have well over 200 photos that have been sitting in review since the beginning.  I contacted them in mid-December and they got back to me pretty quickly, and advised that I had uploaded my photos prior to a server upgrade and that everything had to be moved manually, causing the delay in review.  Unfortunately, I'm still waiting for them to be reviewed, and it's been nearly three months.
