It's dataset earnings Just check in financial page of your account, easy to find
The email notice is confusing. Wooooo, $.11 on my exclusive profile. Their contributor profile page is not working. Neither is their Facebook login app.

Can you make up your mind?
Yep. I was previously incorrect. Further research can do that.

No, it is income and not what is considered royalties. You will need to pay self employment tax.
Depends. True if it's active and makes the majority of your income. If it's passive, then it's Schedule E, no self employment tax.
At least that's what my CPA said.
Incorrect. Even though an individual is retired and not currently involved in his or her creative pursuit of income, any royalties received are business income if the individual was engaged in the business at the time the material generating the royalties was produced. https://www.thetaxadviser.com/issues/2013/dec/kelley-dec2013.html

Seems the Adobestock 1099 values are based on $$$ of record at the end of each calendar month (summed to one yearly value) and not on how/when the contributor takes their payouts?
That is correct. The 1099 is based on royalties earned. The cash out amount is not relevant. If you were paid a royalty in 2023 but cashed it out in 2024 the earnings would reflect in your 2023 1099 and not 2024.
-Mat
This is why the 1099s are irrelevant to me. I report my income on a cash basis and not accrual.

I dont care. I just track all my income and report it.
Same here been doing this way since 2010. I only report income that has been paid to me.
The number on their 1099 never matches what I show, even though it's taken from their own monthly earnings summary; and I don't have a lot of downloads, so there shouldn't be a 14% difference. But my tax prep guy said that if I report mine and it doesn't match theirs, I could get questioned about it down the line.
It all gets thrown into an income number. Theres no way anyone would know if anything matched any report. It doesnt get broken down by agency.

Im seeing quite a few. Adobe is kicking SSs @ss to the curb.
Shutterstock's photo revenue is less than 1/20 of AdobeStock's so far this month for me.
Almost the same here. Wow!

Stock content should always be clearly marked when used in editorial content to help ensure people are not misled into thinking a real event is being depicted by the stock content
What if the stock content represents a real event?

Thanks... but - what is considered a "good" amount of sales?
Say one had 1000 images, & 1000 videos, relatively all unique/saleable (but no people shots/model releases/etc - so content other than people shots).
Would you... estimate making $10/month? $100/month? $500/month? $1000/month? Just curious what kind of average return there is, and what people consider "a lot" or "a little" in terms of revenue... thanks!
When I started back in 2014 or whenever, I could make a couple hundred a month. Now a make a couple of ... dollars. Maybe.

I do find this annoying because prospective buyers will assume that I added this keyword myself. They would likely think that I'm trying to mislead them.
Its funny you think buyers would care about this.

For those contributing to Canva, it's worth noting this section:
"(d) For the avoidance of doubt, if you withdraw entirely from the Contributor program, Canva will retain the right to use your Stock Media to develop and improve artificial intelligence or machine learning models, unless you opt-out."
So opt out before you quit or they can use your work forever
That sounds like a lawsuit.

Im guessing the opt out doesnt include AI training. From todays email about changes 3. Use of Stock Media to develop and improve Canvas products & services: Weve included new terms and conditions that allow Canva or its third-party service providers to use Stock Media to develop and improve products and services, including through the use of artificial intelligence and machine learning. Weve also included details of how Creators can opt-out of having their Stock Media used for some of these purposes. https://www.canva.com/policies/contributor-agreement/

Does this mean that if you get a sale on SS you can get royalties as low as 25 cents with POND5 exclusive content?
Yep! Exciting news!

@gameover
this is the smart way to do localized ai images. Use a real image as a background and just ai content at the front.
Great work!
Looks pretty fake to me.
