""Consider this image that I just got online at Getty Images house collection. You do not get much further away from microstock than that. This image would have been rejected again and again and again on microstock. But last month I just sold this image for 1200USD on Getty.""

This photo was taken with Nokia 808 (at 36+Mpixels):

Soft? yes! But.. if you re-size at 5 Mp you got a pretty sharp image

And if are about to go there:

you would like to have something smaller and lighter than your Full Frame Camera and your excellent but heavy lens..

And in some cases makes an excellent camera for editorial..
(because the most important things usually happens when you don't carry your camera with you...)

My humble opinion is that we must accept the everyday miracles of technology. Otherwise we would still using Daguerreotype.
In other words, Istock maybe is not setting the standards of quality lower, but just accepting the fact of that the quality of images produced by mobiles is getting higher and higher..

I think -Jsnover-  has cover this subject..
Fotolia - 1 lisence per print... ( Don't really now how can this be tracked yet, after the first download )
Thank you jsnover,  thank you all for your replies..

I contact Mr Panagiotis and everything is OK. He has the proper licence for it..
Thanks everyone :-)

Hi everyone.
I recently found an image of mine in this store:
http://www.stickit.gr/en/new-products
(This is the photo: http://www.shutterstock.com/pic-80092114/stock-photo-acropolis-parthenon-by-night-under-full-moon-athens-greece.html  )

These people are selling prints, at any size you ask for, for a price that goes even to hundreds of Euros.

The question is: The licence of RF, covers something like that? Is it legal?

Thank you for your time...

Thank you so much Anglee ...

Blogs all over the world must be few billions. I perfectly understand that no agency can track down  all of them.
The only solution would be a bigger watermark. (my first post here was about fotolia's text watermark. They finally changed it)

But then again, after the first sale and the first (legal) web use of an image, thefts are there, waiting to download and use (illegally) with no watermark, with a touch of a button (printscreen)

Anyway, this problem will always be No1 at microstock photography world...  And as my grandfather used to say about thefts: "worms must eat too"

By the way, 123RF is my favorite agency.. :-)

Another image is stolen from 123rf.

An image of mine (thumb with watermark) is at this site.

( I don't care in which country this site is located... )  :-)
this is my photo on 123rf :

Watermark is like a lock. Every watermark can be removed. Every lock can be broken.
There are good locks, and there are cheap ones.
Fotolia right now has no lock at all, not even a door.
Everyone can steal.

thank you @Leaf

@click_click
thank you for your answer.
I have always spoke my opinion free. And there is not much things I am afraid in life.
I can not see the reason for fotolia banning me, or anyone else that says his opinion to this important matter.
Actually, if you think it over, I am helping Fotolia. Helping people who work there understand the  size of the problem.
I have not offended anyone. And not intend to.
I have just started to built my portfolio, and the easier thing for me is to stop uploading there, since I am unhappy with them.
But with Fotolia was the first sale of one of my photo's, and get a little bit sentimental with this..
Anyway. The truth is that I don't have time for those things..
And maybe it was a bad idea to start it..

thank you all for participating

thnks for the reply.
That's a good idea. That is the reason I have started a conversation inside fotolia. http://us.fotolia.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=34521
to grub their attention. Perhaps it would be a nice idea, to transfer our conversation there.
I am sure they are listening..
 thank you...

YES: 11
NO:  1

I suppose that the one answered NO, uses the samples images for free.

thank you Liza..
Nothing ever changes when we do nothing about it.

Anyway. It feels much more easier to stop uploding there, than fighting for their own good..
Thank you again. I will spend some time to enjoy your portfolio. :-)
