123RF / Re: 123RF sales stopped.

Does anyone upload videos to an FTP server?

They stopped accepting video a couple of years ago.

Edit your image and then upscale it. After upscale it is an illustration with details filled in by AI and any major color changes will result in break-up of gradients, shadows etc.

Is this website dead? I received a small payment from them today but the website seems to have disappeared.

I asked SS support (why did i bother?) if i could submit images made w their generator and they said definitely no

So, what is going on, i still am not sure i understand! They are building a crowd-sourced AI image collection, but made by customers testing their generator and not by contributors like you that know what they are doing with AI. Sounds weird as most people will just prompt a random thing just to test the generator and will probably never create something useful.

On the other hand they save a lot of money building the collection this way, because if they accepted your generations then they would have to pay you!

Thanks Jo Ann,
i was aware of their generator but hadn't realised that the generated images would be available for sale. I thought that a customer could generate an image and use it, not made available for everyone to buy.

I'm not sure i understand what is going on on Shutterstock with the AI generated images that are on sale. They generate their own images on Shutterstock's AI and sell them? Or are these generated by customers?

So has the ClipDealer situation gotten any better or still the same? I, too, had to use legal processes to get my money a few years ago.

I requested payment in April 2021 and still haven't received it...

It is still possible to tell if it's AI or not as long as the image is at a size where you can zoom in (maybe 4 mepapixels and above). It is not possible to tell from thumbnail size images like these.

Does anyone know if sales from Dribble are reflected on Creative Market or do they have to be requested from Dribble?

Thank you for the reply, i appreciate it!

does anyone know if it will affect payment from any of the stock sites if i change my Paypal primary currency from dollars to euros? I need to change this because of a website i sell music records and cd's. On some of the stock sites i receive payment in dollars, on others i receive payment in euros and british pounds. I signed up to most of the stock sites more than 10 years ago and can't remember well but i think on some it was advised that the primary currency should be in dollars to receive payment.

Sorry for the off-topic but does Canva accept video? I see mp4 as an option on the web uploader.

Great news! When the pandemic started i was expecting agencies to react with some sort of bonus to contributors. Hopefully more will follow DT's example.

There are no worker's rights in this business. Agencies don't pay, agencies cut earnings, agencies don't report sales and there's nothing we can do, take it or leave it. The sad part is that the same agencies present themselves as politically correct on all aspects except respecting the people that work for them.

We've gotten so much rain in California in the last few months that people has finally shut up about blaming global warming for everything.

When ice melts, water evaporates and there will be more rain. Scientists have said we should expect more rain due to global warming.

Well i'm just a stock photographer but yes, that's how i understand it. It gets colder where you live because it is warmer somewhere else. It's like the chaos theory with the butterfly etc. When in Saudi Arabia they have heatwave for months that means the earth temperature rises and so melts the ice on the poles causing colder winters in areas close to the ice like Canada in your example.

Logic fails when one person, which is why I started this, claims that global warming, causes colder Winter events.

I tried to explain this with the ice and glass of water example. When the icebergs melt the ocean will become colder and cold oceans make for colder winters. When all the ice melts then the water will start getting hot.

Of course the earth is not a glass of water with ice and is much more unpredictable.

"I'm just pointing to an interesting contradiction, that warming causes cooling"

A very simplified way to look at this is that it's like what happens on a much smaller scale with a glass of water with ice on a hot summer day. First the water will become very cold as the ice melts and then will start getting warmer and warmer.

Thanks for sharing. Looks like more of a good thing to me. Ok it will render watermarks obsolete but other than that it's impressive technology we will all use.

Over a year for me and no payment and no reply. If Leaf is reading please remove the Clipdealer link from the right so no more people get scammed.

StockFresh / Issue with black and white photos preview?
« on: November 13, 2016, 11:26 »
There seems to be an issue with the way black and white photos are displayed on the preview on Stockfresh. My images look a lot brighter than the original files. Anyone else?

Hi, wondering if any of the sites provide some sort of photographer ID for us? Can be useful in many situations.
