Off Topic / Re: Anyone have assistant?
« on: July 23, 2008, 15:54 »
At the studio we got smart  ;D instead of assistants we have interns....
.... We got lucky and found some great girls, they get to learn more about photography + earn college credits.  We get free help.  It could help some of you out to check with your local college & high school photography programs, & after you teach them enough you can sign them up under you on the stock sites!  :-*

did you isolated it, or shoot in studio? I dont see any shadows under shoes?

Peter, We shoot all of our isolations (such as these ones of Bobby's) on a 16x20 Cyclorama.
You can see pictures of it on our website www.vegasvisionstudios.com  It looks kinda like a big white halfpipe. :)

It works fantastic for getting in-camera-isolations.  Usually requiring only a little clean-up around the feet.

The Dodge tool you saw in the upper left corner was most likely from cloning out one of the softboxes that creeped into the frame.  ;D

On a More cheerful note,  Bobby Did you notice that she is almost too page 2 in overall votes?  She has alot of friends and family rooting for her too. :)

I think we should completely ignore the hateful people here and hopefully restore this thread to what it was intended for.

the fact you came to this forum to pimp your image makes it a public business. SHAME SHAME!
from someone who has worked many years in STS and a personal friend of many deaf ppl, the consensus among us at work with is still tacky.
not on Stacy's part, but on your part. Shame! 8)

Do you really need to go this far out of your way to tell someone you don't agree with something? We get it! You Don't agree! Do you really need to keep posting over & over? 80% of this negativity is from you.  Let it go. Jeez!  Shame on you, for carrying on this arguement!!
Your just as bad as your buddy Miz!~
Just what we need is another member who likes controversy.
Shame.  :(

, because most of the people who came in to your defence did so, more out of a personal vendetta rumble on MIZ because MIZ had turned their cranks in other threads 8).

Thanks for speaking for me.

I have disliked Rjmiz for years now,and this is not the first time I have argued with him. My sticking up for Bobby has nothing to do with rjmiz's pathetic attempts for attention.

I stuck up for Bobby because he is my friend, mentor & business partner.  Also because of the fact that we work together and I have inside knowledge of this situation and a close friendship w/ this model Stacey.

Bobby is promoting her, not his photography.

If we get HER closer to HER goal because of a few "tacky sympathy votes"  then I'm sure niether Bobby or I will have any problems sleeping at night. And niether will she, You can ask her personally if you want??? I'll provide you w/ her myspace link.

Miz mind your own  business. If I want your opinion I will fish it out of the toilet you have absolutely no credibility to me.

Amen to that.  What a freaking idiot.

This is so ridiculous, what a bunch of sour grapes.

This cover contest is not about Bobby as the photographer. It's about Stacy as the model.  SHE entered the contest and he is trying to promote HER.  Some of you speak for her as if you know her, I DO  know her well,  and I know that Stacey herself is pimping . out of this image as well.  All over her myspace, her email, friends and family and her website.  The Make-up Artist is promoting her in all the same avenues, as am I!!  When . did it become wrong to promote your artwork anyway????

Thats what these model search contests are all about.  Popularity Contests, If a magazine sees that a girl can drum up that much interest then they see that she will sell magazines.
If any of you disagree with that then you are misinformed.

Also, if you don't think that Stacey herself will use her disability to drum up interest for her modeling career then your kidding your self.  She has true passion, she'll use whatever she can to get there (I know this from actual conversations w/ her)

Rjmiz, it's always Funny how you jump on the boat to attack anyone that is more successful than you.

I'm sure there will be a bunch more of you that will be calling Bobby out, thats how it is over here.  One person jumps on the bandwagon then the rest of the haters come in.   Luckily there are a ton of us out here that know his true character.  From all of his employees (and their families)  His Family, Stacy, the DEAF (omg!!) model that we have spent countless hours photographing & promoting. And many, many of our peers here on these forums.

Sorry Miz... my last post was a little out of line.  :-\

As you probably know, I have met and have formed close friendships w/ many people from these forums & microstock in general, through the workshops that Bobby Deal & I hold.   I get all bitchy & overreact when I feel like people are attacking my friends.

I'll take your advice and stay out of your threads from here on out.

I can understand why you would not want to read my posts. I am very opinionated.
I express myself in such a way as to make sure I am not mis-understood.
I am very frank, and honest in the way I feel.
I don't lie about my feelings.
I can be very controversial at times.

You give yourself entirely too much credit.  Your just a lonely old man, who constantly craves attention and wants pats on the backs for his imagined successes in microstock.  I usually do choose to stay out of your narcissistic ramblings.  It pissed me off this time because you were calling out a friend of mine.

"Shouldnt this kind of constant ranting be posted on Miz-takes?"

Lemme ask you a question:
Why do you torture yourself by reading my post all the time?
Seems to me you enjoy being beat up!

You leave us no choice.   When you make 3 a day, we all eventually stumble.

Hi-ho,

I consider myself a photographer some of the time,

Your totally a photographer!!
I know, because I'm more than a little  jealous of your horse racing stuff.  :'(

lol... nice work

Shouldnt this kind of constant ranting be posted on Miz-takes?

Can we make a forum just for him so we don't have to wade through all this???
lol, I forgot. he already tried that.

"I'm so good, I even wrote a book"

Who your talking about has been in the game long enough & is good enough to have written a book.

It's great that he shares his knowledge, he has helped many people.

Don't you basically write a book on this forum every month sharing your views & hints???
Don't throw stones when you live in a glass house & all that Jazz.  :-*

Yes I'm a photographer.  This is All I do to make a living & support my self & my family. Stock is a small part of it.

I've never said any of those things that you mention above. (nor do I know many people that have)
Just because I'm dedicated to my passion does not make me a snob.

I think if you look around, you will find alot of pros out there that dedicate their time and energy to helping beginners rather than trying to belittle them.   ;)

If your still unconvinced, I extend you an invitation to our studio here in Vegas.

I love reading all these great comments about Dreamstime!  Mostly because they reflect my own experience and feelings about the site too :)

:)  My Favorite for reviews too...  If they refuse an image it's justified (for me at least)

Still my highest earner as well.

How many buyers do you think have seen one of those 3 images and *never* gone back to the site?  That's all I'm askin. lol

Very Few....

Designers know & are taught that sex sells.

I believe that contributors are the the main reason for content filters.

Mantonino..  please don't sell yourself short, if you found (nude) images on MostPhotos wrong.. then you are prude! Stand up and be proud.. ;)

I'm just sayin...if you were a web designer/graphic designer and you were downloading pics off MostPhotos and your boss walked up behind you while you found these:

Not work friendly pic 1

Not work friendly pic 2

Not work friendly link 3

would you have a job?

How many buyers do you think have seen one of those 3 images and *never* gone back to the site?  That's all I'm askin. lol

(Note: I don't mind searching for more. ;)  Like I said, I personally am not a prude in this respect - but image buyers are *mostly* people doing a job for someone else)

None of these links offend me.  Personally,  I think it's funny that they would offend someone else.
But hey, It takes all types.  :)

Half of us have Vaginas in this world... & hopefully the other half of us have seen one or two by now.

I'm a mother, and I just don't show my kids these type of photos... lock the door or hit that little x in the top left of your screen when they walk in.  (if you've chosen to open the image beyond the thumbnail in the first place.)

Plus, your boss would most likely be pissed anyways that your on a microstock site instead of working, regardless of the nudity~lol.   And if your a designer he would most likely understand.

....Nobody should tell another what to say, photograph or write.  ;D imho
