Delete button is now up, but it doesn't work right...

Hey, what kind of problems are you having with the delete feature?
I haven't received any bug reports on it.

Hello, we had some problems with IE8 telling us that they where IE6 but it is solved now.
We had a long discussion about if we should keep IE6 support or drop it but we looked over our visitor history and we talked to our clients and we came to the conclusion that we would not miss out on any large nr of sales and we will have a lot more over time to make the site even better.
All pages need to start blocking / telling users to upgrade to help the web evolve. There where a lot of errors on the page if you use IE6 so we decided to send them to a page that will display the way it should and where we could explain why we can't let them on the site.

Mostphotos.com / Re: Watermarks disabled on Mostphotos!
« on: September 06, 2009, 08:48 »
Just cheeked and mine have the watermark and the search is working now.  My user name and password isn't stored though, using chrome.  That needs to be fixed, having to type that out every time takes too long.

There where only a few members that had their settings changed but we will update the site tomorrow and it will be back to normal. We will add a "keep me logged in"-cookie so you don't have to login each time.

Guys, check your settings on Mostphotos and see if you have enabled watermarks. I had enabled watermark, but now after upgrading to new version this option was disabled, so my images were without watermark. I noticed there are several users with the same problem.

To enable watermark go to Settings, then again fing "settings" link on the left in the menu, click it, then click "watermark" link, click "enable" button to become green, and finally click button "Spara" which means "Save".

Regards,
Ivan

Hey, thanks for reporting this. It seems that some member settings where reset during the upgrade. We will look in to it right away.

The voting system will be gone in the new version (see earlier posts for more info) and we have also made a few adjustments to handle images with poor quality (more about that later). But we are still in the start up phase and the sales count is pretty low at the moment but we will start more aggressive marketing actions after the launch of the new version.

We wanted to make sure that Mostphotos was as good or even better than the competition before we start to make a lot of noise about it, and we really think we accomplished that with the new version. So we will start promoting the site as soon as the new version goes live.

Hi All .. i am pretty new to all this and am really more interested in the learning process then the sales - at this point in time  .. although any sales are of course very welcome  ;D   ... my portfolios are very small and certainly not extraordinary by any means, which maybe why i am little suspicious of the following  ....

i received the following message from "sokona77" (who appears to have a buyer account with MP) and am wondering if i this is normal practice ? I am also looking for some advice as to whether to reply or not ? Can anyone tell me if my actual email address will be provided if reply through the MP mail ....

"Nice to meet you, how is everything, hope all is well with you. My name is miss Sokona Nnam, I found your contact after reading your profile I picked interest to contact you. I've something very important which I would love to share with you privately, therefore, would advise you to kindly write me back on:([email protected]) so that I'll give you details. Waiting anxiously for your anticipated corporation"

anyones thoughts appreciated

Whiteview.

Your real email will not be visibile to any member so you can respond using the internal mail system if you want.

I've just joined recently - and hoping to make some of those good sales I see everyone writing about.
I have to say - I LOVE the site. Uploading is super simple. The AJAX implementation works particularly well for me :)

I'm glad you like the site and if that is you favorit part now you will love the new site even more =)

Hi micke, what's going to happen to the thousands of images already accepted by MP with noice, out of focus etc. are they going to be re-reviewed? ;)

We will still be accepting all images and our index scripts will go trough all existing images and apply the correct index based on the new variables and the same goes if we add or change the variables in the future.
The goal is to give everyone a chance but we still need to present the buyer with the best possible picture that matches their search terms

Hey everyone, I'm the project manager at Mostphotos.com.
We just sent out a newsletter (yesterday) with some more information about the new version and we where also asking for members that want to help us beta test the new site.

One of the changes we are making in the new version is a major change to the rating system. We have heard your complaints about it but we also have a lot of members that really like it. So we decided to compromise a bit.
We will be removing the 1-10 ratings and replacing it with a simple "I like it"-button. So if you see something you like and you want to complement the photographer, simply click the button and if you don't like it you can just continue to another photo.

We have also made some really huge improvements to the Mostphotos index by adding somewhere around 50 new variables. We will for example take resolution, noise and correct tagging in to account when ranking photos. We will also add the option to opt out of comments on all your photos or just some and a feature that just lets your friends leave comments.

We are always looking for ways to improve the site so please, if you have any suggestions please send me an email (micke [a] mostphotos.com or get in touch with me in some other way.

I really hope all of you will like the new version of the site and that you at least give us a chance  :).

Mostphotos.com / Re: Most photos - new "midstock" site!
« on: October 18, 2007, 04:19 »
Hey everyone, I'm the project manager for Mostphotos.com.
Its sad to see that you have experienced problems registering and uploading images on our site but i i promise, we do everything we can to find solutions to the problems you listed.
Clivia, i would really appriciate if you could tell me what browser you where using when this problems occurred and if you have javascript enabled in your browser? We have a few Ajax solutions on the site that requires javascript to be enabled.

And regarding the speed issue, we are currently hosted on a 1gb/s connection and the site is running on two brand new 2,4ghz quad core high performance servers from dell so my best guess is that its a routingproblem. We have a few members from the states and Canada that reports good connections speeds, but we will try to solve it. It would be great if i could get the ip address for your ISPs gateways so we can do a trace route to try find the problem.

We are aware that its a problem to host the servers here in Sweden and the next step will be to set up some servers in the us and in some other locations. But we just launched so it would be great if you could have some patience with us until we are up and running full speed.

But as i said, we will try to fix the problems that you report and i hope you all will help us to be as good as we can be.
