As contributors' portfolio sizes change from hour to hour without adding or deleting images Sstock are either incompetent or manipulating numbers ...🤔

It's nice to see that dissension and enmity aren't peculiar to the Shutterstock forum
Makes me feel at home.

This has likely been covered before, but is there a way to collect data on  Shutterstock's photo collection size on a daily or even weekly basis. Hopefully historical and future. A friend is looking to chart the daily intake of photos into the collection.   Thnx

You can only collect future data if you have a time machine.

The highlighted text is a charming euphemism for making reviewers ie actual people (in the US and overseas) redundant and using 'robots' instead. SP is the master of obfuscation. Sstock is such a caring company. Not.

Unfortunately there is no number for content quality, however the decrease in assets should ring alarm bells for investors

Some alarm bells for contributers
- Focus on royalty restructuring
- focus on subscription
- focus on AI reviewing
- the hope that prosumer buyers will come in driven by low price

Guess this gravy train has ended, time to build somewhere else

Where is the focus on AI reviewing mentioned? I can't find that. Thanks.

The forum is mended.

It is a pity for people who continue to upload their work to Shutterstock. Sometimes this is a very complex work, clearly not worth 10 cents. But smart people say that the whole world is gradually moving towards a slave-owning society. To replace capitalism.

Capitalism supports modern slavery and of course slavery isn't uploading photos to SS and being paid a few cents.  That's not slavery.  This is slavery:

Remember this is a company that doesnt even fix major customer facing faults or legal complaints on weekends at all.  They seem to only work office hours, monday to friday regardless of what's broken or on fire.

So if this is a bug, dont expect it fixed until after 9am Monday new york time at the earliest.

The more cynical side of me thinks this suits them - nobody moderates on weekends so they cant delete and remove negative comments so it benefits them to have no weekend posting.

I agree and actually I think it's been about a week now since the forum was defunct.

In case anyone has tried and failed to do this, it only works I think if you are already logged into the SS forum.  I can't do that on my Android phone but I managed to log in, disable Java, refresh and post via Chrome on my PC.

This last move by SS (whether a deliberate move or a fault they are deliberately ignoring) really does illustrate the contempt they display towards their contributors.  They shouldn't bite the hand that feeds them.

Apparently disabling Java Script then allows posting.

What does that mean in English?

in your browser click on settings and under privacy and security you will find java script just add the forum address to the blocked sites for java

Thank you. Tried that too but it didn't work. I get the security code message but no box to click in.

Apparently disabling Java Script then allows posting.

I disabled Java for Firefox and Chrome on my android phone and Firefox on my PC but it stops me from logging in with the message 'security code required' so I can't check the box to say I'm not a robot. So although I see one or two people have been able to post this may not help everyone. It's nice to feel welcome  :D Au Revoir SF.

I can't test because I'm banned, but can anyone non-magical post? Only Sean's post is newer than Tuesday afternoon at the moment

As mentioned in the other thread, I cannot post. And I can't send private messages either. At first, I thought I was banned. But maybe that's not the case after all.

They have put the whole lot of us in the naughty corner. Saves them time. If they don't have a forum to monitor they have more time to spend their excessive profits.

Nope and from my phone I can't log in. From my PC I can log in and still not post.

It looks as though SS has removed the forum. If it were a bug even SS would have probably managed to have let us know by now.
Although I'm not surprised considering how badly they have treated contributors over the new rates it does show utter disregard for us.  I wonder how they expect people to keep uploading or reactivate their portfolios with this kind of treatment.
A complete absence of communication about it.  The least they could have done is to let us know what's going on to save people the trouble of trying to post.
There are a lot of contributors still joining - they must wonder what's going on.

What is the final goal of the protest?
How realistic are all these energy and time consuming actions?

Revolutions and wars rarely have a final goal at the start. They evolve, mutate and build momentum.  The end result can justify the energy and time expended and the blood shed. Who knows what the end result will be but 'times they are a-changin' for sure.

Just heard back from 'support'. Apparently if I use my web browser rather than my mobile I will be able to post on the forum and pigs may fly. I will give up now or I may have to contact the Samaritans.

20
Might be just a bug. If they suspend forums that would be huge

I reported it as a bug to the inappropriately named 'support'. From my phone I can't even log in. One of their super helpful 'experts' asked me for a screenshot. I asked how I can do a screenshot of nothing.

21
Thank you Cathyslife.

22
Shutterstock isn't famous for their super communication skills so I don't expect we'll have the courtesy of an explanation.  We have been silenced.

23
I think they have suspended it. Only one Hummer Thread post has got through in the last 24 hours+. New threads can't be started either. The only thing that is working is the voting.

Shutterstock.com / Shutterstock forum suspended?
« on: July 23, 2020, 00:48 »
Does anyone know what has happened to the Shutterstock forum?  I can't post on it and I don't think anyone else can (just one fluke post yesterday on the Hummer Thread that got through but that's all in over 24 hours). It looks deliberate to me rather than a fault. New threads can't be started either.  The only thing that you can do if you manage to log in is to up/down vote comments already there.  Has Shutterstock suspended it due to negative comments?
