Maybe u need to not give up the day job :)

I've been following this on the forums for a while now: every time some poor devil posts something critical or less than flattery, they immediately get pounded, patronized, their portfolios reviewed (negatively), etc etc by a whole bunch of 'loyalists' who are much harsher and less flexible than even the actual site admins???

Is this some misguided pride or exclusivity or some other pathological psychology? :)

put it down to the nature of the beast. Unfortunately a lot of these photogs are ill-educated, self-employed egomaniacs and they exist on eveyr forum. None of these numb nuts would get a team job never mind function in one hence their inability to handle any type o' criticizm. That said there are some really good guys on here too but very much in the minority fraid to say.

Panthermedia.net / Re: What about the Panther ?
« on: April 01, 2008, 06:05 »
anyone try ftp uploading today?

I thought i would try pantermedia out, but am getting an error after I edit the image info.

I also think it is ridiculous to have that 30% commision for images in other microstock sites :(

And since PM offers a license for UNLIMITED uses, whereas most other sites limit the use to 10,000 or so in print - they would be fored to buy the extended license on regular microstock sites making the cost MORE on other sites than on PM... hmmmmm

Anyone actually tried selling anything there first???

They do nothing for me.  There are some great stock photographers.  This is more my taste.

That of course is why u are a stockphotografer and make only cents fro ur art.

« on: February 19, 2008, 10:46 »
It's not really difficult to get in, it's just a pain in the butt putting together the application. Getty in particular you'd need to go to nigth classes just to get past their meta word requirement.

Zymmetrical.com / Re: Zymmetrical appears NOT to deliver
« on: February 19, 2008, 10:24 »
Despite the title of this thread, it's looking like this site appears NOT to deliver.
It appears to me Zymmetrical has already become a victim of its own hype and from the amount of bugs encountered so far and other sloppy typos on the site the omens are not good.

Would it not make sense to 5 user test this site or even put it in beta before going live??? This is very basic stuff we're talking about here!  :-[

Zymmetricald, I'd lose those rotating images on the front page. It could be just my monitor but they're not smooth and I'm seeing jagged edges as they spin.

Strangely nobody has commented on DT's sworn right to keep all your earnings if u decide to close your account???

Why comment something which is common business?! IIRC e.g. SS does the same. So what?

Disable you pics first , wait until next payout, request payout, wait for payout hitting your bank account, close your DT account. Easy, isn't it?

Yes, that's the most obvious solution but please understand not everyone would think of doing that or more importantly feel that that was necessary.

And just because it's common practice doesn't make it right either. No matter how you look at it, keeping earnings which haven't hit the 100 mark and then to discover you've forfeited that money because you've closed your account is totally dishonest if you ask me.

Found this on another forum would anyone comment before joining :)

Let's be very clear about this. DT will not allow you to DELETE any images after the requisite 6 month period is up. You can only "disable" them as I said, which is of course another way of saying, we're going to hold onto them for as long we like because if we actually let you delete anything you also inadvertently reduce the value of our company.

Which also means should they decide to sell up or go bust he still has a bucket load of stock to open his next stall with.

Cha ching!

And then to add insult to injury you also forfeit all earnings if you happen to be a few cents short of the $100 mark as we were when we decided we'd had enough of these scam artists.

Need I say anymore!!!!
