Adobe Stock / Re: How fast you can fall?
« on: June 12, 2012, 10:32 »
I've noticed another complete turn around  in the last few days.   The new files have virtually stopped selling and old files are selling again.  Is anybody else experiencing this or is it just total coincidence.  Also seems to be a higher percentage of credit sales as opposed to subs

Yes I've had some good sales of old files in the last couple of days and they have been on files that hardly sold before, strange??

Have used the Canon lens for a few months now and find the image quality excellent very sharp throughout the range, so would recommend it. Haven't used the Sigma so can't say.

Crestock.com / Re: Review time
« on: May 08, 2012, 09:55 »
I'm very close to leaving this agency, let's see how the review turns out (after months of waiting)
They have been bugging me from the start with their long review times and weird rejections.

Exactly if after waiting a ridiculous time images were sensibly rejected then its not too bad but when you get stupid rejections its not worth it. Think I will stop uploading there for a while its less hassle.

I think Crestock have seen the last of me since I originally posted this I have had 10 images reviewed. I now have 50 still in the queue the oldest being there for 5 weeks. Its a complete waste of time.

I'd say it was crap but its not been that good. I'd be happy if my images got a view at the moment. I'm hoping it will even itself out............SOON.

I don't quite see why everyone is so excited about this, Yuri's the only winner here the only way this will affect the rest of us is that when buyers search his sight for images they are only going to get his to choose from. Whereas previously there was a chance that one of mine (or anyone elses} would appear next to his and on a very rare occassion mine would get picked instead of his. (well maybe not very often I know I don't shoot the same sort of subject that he does but you know what I mean}. If he builds up a loyal following of buyer who only go to his sight then the rest of us will loose out.
Whilst I wish him well in his new venture as I would anyone I don't see it as anything I should be getting excited about.

The rest of the MS companies out there are not going to give us more favourable deals just because of this.

Does anyone use the picworkflow lightroom plug in? If so is it any good or can you easily live without it?

Yaymicro / Re: Review time slowdown at Yay?
« on: April 24, 2012, 15:17 »
I uploaded 18 images last week, reviewed in under 7 days. I thought they had sorted themselves out but its sounds as if mine were just a blip.

Druid

Mine still not reviewed after nearly 3 weeks Druid (definite favoritism here)  ;)

Sorry mate, I was very surprised when I found they had been reviewed usually I upload there and forget about them as it tends to be 3 to 4 weeks before they are reviewed. Now all I need is a few more sales there.

General Stock Discussion / Re: No sales/views at BS and CS
« on: April 21, 2012, 03:59 »
Totally agree a complete waste of time, if I got the views it wouldn't be too bad would just have to accept my images don't suit the site. But when you don't get any views you have to wonder does anyone ever use these sites. They do seem to be the only ones that I experience with.

« on: April 20, 2012, 04:36 »
Both cams are crappy, cheap new models of nothings.

what does that mean? only the 1D and D4 are worth?

Hi!  no what I meant was:  its a pretty poor update from Canon, I have used the MIII, for a day and frankly apart from better AF ( which I dont need), it gave me nothing, exept 1 MP, big deal?

As far as the D800?  yes, more MP, even so, its not going to give me much extras on top of my D3X.

The MP, race is over, once you are around 20MP, youre in on MF quality, so thats a hypothetical question, really.

So because it doesn't meet your needs its crappy. With such sound judgement you should get a job as an impartial reviewer.

Hi,

Mine have gone as well had 10 images pending yesterday today gone but not in port. I was hoping there was a delay between passing review and appearing in port. Will wait until tomorrow to see if it sorts itself out.

Well this is an interesting thread, I've only just come across it. I'm not going to give my view as it differs from Roxxstocks' and I'm not really in the mood for the abuse he's thrown at other contributors here.

Suffice to say lets hope "I REST MY CASE" does actually mean he will rest his case, as he can't obviously see that at least 90% of the people on here do not agree with his opinions.

I have not thrown any abuse at anyone in this thread (apart from the Swede who miraculously disappeared and *** ***** who deserved it.

What you do not see (but I do) is a very significant number of people that relish this debate of plagiarism (by email). 120 (ish) people posting but over 2,700 reading the thread. You do the math. I am not alone. Not alone at all. And trust me, it is not 90%.

I'm not really interested in your figures and I'm not disputing them you'll have no doubt taken the trouble to find out how many people have contributed and read this thread. To be truthful I've found it quite interesting with some good points made on both sides of the arguement.

I was merely interested in whether you were actually going to rest your case thats all..............

Envato / Re: Photodune, Thoughts?
« on: March 10, 2012, 04:17 »
Well I thought I would give Photodune a go see what the process was like so yesterday evening after being accepted as contributor I uploaded 110 images via filzilla. Before I went to my bed dismayed they had managed to process just 38 images which I checked keywording and submitted. This morning there are still 72 waiting to be processed before I can check them.

They must have the slowest computer system on the planet. I may not bother in future................

Whats the price of oil got to do with it?

Before you go banging on about the bombing of a bunker in Iraq and critise the USA or UK then you should have a think about the atrocities committed by Croatia in the not too distant part during the various wars in the Balkans.

Lagereek is right with out the US and UK taking a stand the world would be in a pretty crapy state............
