Site Related / Re: Moaning Arena?
« on: March 06, 2012, 17:14 »
The classic moaners here are either IS bronze or joined somewhere around 2010-2011, when all troubles started. They display feelings of infriority coupled with a sort of schitzophrenic wannabee among the big lads.
Leaf should do something about these people since they are dangerous to the rest of us.

The usual ridiculous post.............

I upload to 12, but like many who have replied one or two are really not worth the bother ie. Crestock and Cutcaster so have just about stopped uploading to them. I'm still waiting for my last upload to Crestock (4 weeks ago) to be reviewed so haven't bothered uploading any since complete waste of time and effort.

Whats happening at Crestock are they on holiday?

I've had images waiting for over 4 weeks to be reviewed. This is the longest I've waited there, it usually only takes them a couple of weeks to reject my images maybe the extra wait will mean they will accept a few more this time. One can only hope....

Nikon / Re: Nikon D800 36MP coming?
« on: February 10, 2012, 08:11 »
sorry but you're wrong :)

2 yrs ago i was seriously switching to Canon, went 3-4 times in many shops, tried both the 7D and the 5D2 but each time they felt so awkyard in my hand, it was like .. what is this toy ??

even a D90 with battery grip feels stronger than a 5d2 or 7D.

for anything else we can talk, i don't deny canons in general can produce better images in some instances, but for me ergonomics is very very important.

You talk through the back end of your trousers, you prefer Nikons theres nothing wrong with that but at least be honest about it. There is no way the 5DmkII  or the 7D handle like toys and as for the D90 feeling stronger thats just plain rubbish.

Canon / Canon 60d or 600d
« on: December 15, 2011, 14:44 »
Looking for a bit of advise please, am about to purchase a new dslr and have been looking at either a 60d or 600d. I have done a bit of research and can't really see a lot of difference in these models other than the 60d has the top plate lcd and is more expensive. So does anyone use these cameras and what do you think.

Thanks

Cidepix, have to agree with you. When I get an image rejected by SS I usually agree with their reasons after having another look at it and I think this helps me improve the quality of my images.
I would much prefer to get paid more for the images that are accepted.

Don't know about anyone else but I had no trouble uploading to them yesterday however went to complete images today and can't get them to update. Seems to be a problem their end. I select the image I want to edit put on the info but it doesn't save it......getting a bit annoying to say the least.

Off Topic / Re: Why are you anonymous?
« on: August 09, 2011, 13:44 »
Why must someone who is anonymous have to invested little into his photography? Many people have stated in this thread very valid reasons why they do not use their real names, it doesn't make their opinions less valued. You either agree with someones point of view or you don't it really shouldn't have anything to do with by what name they sign into the forum. A bit naive I think....

Druid (no its not my real name, could be my religion though)

Hi All,

I've noticed that quite a few people on here use Firefox, are there any advantages to using it as your browser instead of IE. Is it just more reliable or are there any other reasons for using it??

I take it he arrived on this planet a fully qualified expert photographer! or did he have to learn the art like the rest of us.
I suppose there are people out there who think they can run before they can walk but whats wrong with a bit of ambition? They either learn the hard way and succeed or they fail doesn't affect me.

Well that's a surprise. No I've never been in Florida, just in NYC, when it comes to USA. From what I've gathered from all of the newspaper/magazine articles, movies, documentaries, TV shows, talk shows I never got the feeling white ppl in those states speak any Spanish. Yeah I know it's, for instance, drawing conclusions from a TV show like Dexter when no non-hispanic cop speaks a word of Spanish, they always call a Latino to sort things out. But it wouldn't surprise me at all, since so many Americans (I'm not saying most ;) ) are so ignorant they can't name a single European capital, finding someone who can show Iraq on the map or sth similar can be mission impossible. And to get back to the TV shows, now when I get to think, the picture we get really is totally skewed. Not that you never see fat ppl in them (in America lol), not even from streetshots supposedly showing city life and its inhabitants going about their business, but the main actors, even though middle aged, always have six packs and everybody greets their perfect loving family with honey I'm home when they walk through the door ;D .

Well nice to hear that. But really, how many ppl (%) do speak Spanish in those states?

I don't even know what that Rant means.....is there a point????
