Try to contact Cindy Cohen, she is a great IP lawyer and her organization can help you for free. Link: https://www.eff.org/about/staff

Cindy Cohn is the Legal Director for the Electronic Frontier Foundation as well as its General Counsel. She is responsible for overseeing the EFF's overall legal strategy and supervising EFF's fourteen staff attorneys. Ms. Cohn first became involved with the EFF in 1993, when the EFF asked her to serve as the outside lead attorney in Bernstein v. Dept. of Justice, the successful First Amendment challenge to the U.S. export restrictions on cryptography. Outside the Courts, Ms. Cohn has testified before Congress, been featured in the New York Times, San Francisco Chronicle and elsewhere for her work on digital rights and has traveled onto the Internet with Stephen Colbert.

The National Law Journal named Ms. Cohn one of 100 most influential lawyers in America in 2013, noting: "f Big Brother is watching, he better look out for Cindy Cohn." She was also named in 2006 for "rushing to the barricades wherever freedom and civil liberties are at stake online."  In 2007 the National Law Journal named her one of the 50 most influential women lawyers in America. Terrible November and December as IS exclusive.

Apparently it was a temporary glitch. Alamy has fixed it now. Thanks all for responding!

Alamy.com / Payment postponed to February?
« on: January 02, 2015, 20:21 »
I reached Alamy's payment amount in December, the website said it would be paid on January 1. As a long time Alamy contributor, it was normal.

Today I checked again, it said it would be paid on February 1, 2014. Does anyone know what's going on?

My hope is I will not hold on to false hopes and just do it.  :P

Nothing can prevent any of us to ask 6.5 million in FAA or our own site.

hahaha, i think it would be against their TOS and perceived as trolling.

Where do you see this clause in their TOS? Actually if you are a paying artist, FAA says clearly it is your own website. A piece of artwork can be worth nothing, like van Gogh's during his lifetime, then what is van Gogh's worth now? The value of artwork is definitely a perceived one, my friend.  ;)

If I were you, I'd write another email to IS that you had given a notice of termination 30 days ago and intend to activate your account with other agencies on such such date unless you hear any objections from IS. Keep a copy of this email in case there are any issues.

As much as I resent Getty, I must admit Alamy is much worse in delaying payments.

Out of curiosity, how often do contributors get paid by Stocksy? Every week?

186
Next time, don't forget to bring a piece of rope and tie yourself to a tree before shooting. lol

187
One more thing, if anyone else has not mentioned it.

I like the old version better because it was simple and effective. I could edit a few images on the same page without having to click if I don't want to.

I hope Alamy will find ways to make contributors more effective and not use newer web design to slow us down.

Is it possible to make the pending images visible? I sometimes forget what I uploaded.

The new trend seems to be an increasingly large portion of revenue is coming from G.I., PP and subscription sales for me (an exclusive).

My total revenue in 2014 has been slightly higher than that of 2013, FWIW.

Too bad we have no idea what are selling due to the lack of transparency. The small comfort is the uptick in revenue.

I agree that the sales are decreasing the second half of 2014, although I had fantastic experience in the first half.

I don't do any self promotions, no facebook, no blog, no nothing.

^ really ? What kind of nasty person votes someone down for pointing out that they never wrote something which they have been quoted as saying?  And does not have the common decency to at least explain why.

LOL, someone also voted "Disagree" when I was reporting my experience. How can one disagree with someone's experience?

It made me laugh.

I wonder how other exclusives fared in subscription sales in September. I had never made as many sub sales as I did in September 2014.

193
Perhaps Alexa ranks the whole month.

My Alamy chart always has a dip before sales come in in a given months. When I get sales, the chart will go up for the month.

September subs were substantial and growing and October's haven't been reported yet.

This was my experience in September too. I had never had so many sub sales, at about $1 per DL. Good or bad? I don't know.

As an exclusive, I don't know yet.

PP has only been updated to the 15th, and G.I. has not reported yet. G.I. sales sometimes constitute around 30% of my revenue.
Do you think your PP and/ or G.I. sales will be affected by the changes at IS?

It's been one month since the changes hit iStock.com. I don't think it's too early to see how those changes have affected your iStock.com sales, anyway.

You know what, not sure if I am just lucky, I actually see more dls and revenue after the change was announced. Honestly I don't like to sell all sizes at one price. But hey, if it works, then so be it. I am willing to have an open mind for now.

Just reviewed my stats. The revenue for this September on IS site alone (without GI and complete PP) was better than the combined total in September 2013 (my WMY). So yes, I have seen an increase. The question is how much.

When someone comes up with an idea like this, it just reflect on the OP's personality, and does not help make IS better.

iStockPhoto.com / Re: First Week of New iStock - How are you doing?
« on: September 21, 2014, 12:21 »
DLs are better than July and August. Earning is slightly better but not as good as it should be in a September month.

There is still one more week, we shall see.

I am not a customer, my DLs/earnings are better comparing to the summer months. Could be just the season.

The unauthorized user claimed that the image was generated by Google search and there was no indication that one should pay for its use. Why isn't there any indication that it could be purchased from Alamy?

However, my image has been removed from the site.
