New Sites - General / Re: photocase.com
« on: December 14, 2009, 22:50 »
I just checked my photocase account and my vast portfolio (5 images) and it turns out I got a sale last week for 2.16 euro on one of my images.  It's a start.

I rake in hundreds of pennies every day; sometimes even thousands.

Congrats Warren!  Ah yes I know that power plant Page.  That one does have stock potential for pollution concept shots.

Ok so just after my previous post I placed a proper payout request.  About an hour ago I got a payout email from Deposit Photos for 100.00 and this was confirmed by a paypal notification of funds received.  I think that's about the fastest time I've ever gotten a payout from anybody.

My sales site will be "CrapStock" where only exclusive photos are license for $1 (pay 33c to artist) may not be hosted anywhere else, and are required to have proof of being rejected at, at least one of the big seven sites. I keep reading how rejects are best sellers, I want a piece of that!

LOL!  Or we could begin an image database where image ranking is based upon how many times a given image was rejected by one of the "big 6"; the more it was rejected, the higher the ranking!

Ah thanks Elvinstar!

I've got 520 files online with them now and just requested a payout.  I didnt see a specific place to request a payout so I used the "Contact Us" form and used "Financial Questions" for a category.

Funny since I got a similar email today but this one was "customer downloaded the wrong file"

I have a final batch in que which will give me a 500+ portfolio (barring no "lightning" rejections) and then I'll promptly request a payout.

That windows experience rating is quite interesting!  I got a 5.9 as my disk data transfer is the 5.9 and lowest score.
Graphics and gaming are 6's and the other two, processor and RAM, are 7.4 and 7.6 respectively.

Istock accounts for over half of my earnings, so I like Istock for that reason.

The one thats really good is the +$180 add on, the nVidia GeForce GTX260 1792MB GDDR3.

That's the exact Video Card that I have but it came installed on my Gateway.  I'm running a 23" monitor with 1920x1080 resolution and it's been humming along very nicely for me; although the 12 gigs of RAM Im sure is also helping out there.  I dont run Photoshop so unfortunately I can't comment on that software.  Lightroom definitely runs faster now than it did on my old XP system with 4 gigs RAM and 512MB card.

Yeah now the whole reduced 30% comission for those who submitted their images tainted by microstock doesn't seem to make much sense anymore.

From what I understand there seems to be three levels of accepted images at Panther media.  Lowest is the accepted image, second is the "recommended" and the top is the "Ed Tip", which has higher priority in the search engine and the "Ed Tip" designation is publicly viewable.  The recommendation I believe also has higher search engine priority but the recommendation designation isn't publicly viewable.

well at 4 images so far, it's not much of a port to look at yet.  My fireworks shot seems to have alot of an "interestingness" factor though.

Lol turns out that those 4 were the only ones accepted from the 22, so I guess I don't have them figured out like I thought I did. Back to my portfolio with my tail between my legs...

I find Panthermedia pretty good for accepting my images too.  I also have a fair number of Editor Tips and Recommendations.

fotolia is completely different. only one photo was accepted out of a series of 4 similars with corresponding rejection reason. so, i sneaked one reject in a few weeks after the fact and...they remembered and rejected with 'similar' reason.

Drat!  There goes my strategy for resubmitting rejects at Fotolia.  Maybe I should wait a couple months first.
