Adobe Stock / Re: Extended RF License for $4.60?
« on: April 04, 2011, 15:41 »
Is there a way to see and edit extended prices for my files?

Yes, I described it above. You go to your files, click the edit button on the far right next to you small image thumb, then scroll down to the tab with prices. In there you can change the X price to 50 and save the change.

I guess I am bronze there... so what the heck?

Yes, in that case that's exactly it. Your older files still have the 20 credit price tag (you did not have option to assign any other tag when you were submitting them as white and they do not go to higher price with your level).

23% * 20 = $4.6

If you log in, click on the 'Files' tab and then 'Edit' on any of you images, you can scroll down to see tab with prices and your royalities for all licenses.

I think the page I pointed to above is outdated, the comission is now lower after their latest cut. Obviously they did not yet get to updating that page. So for me it is 23% of my 50 price which means $11.5. If I would leave my older files at 20, it would be exactly $
4.6, so I think that's it.

^^^ Yes, I believe for white it is 20, for bronze 50 and from Silver up it is 100. Also I believe old files will stay at whatever price you assigned to them when submitted unless you do something about it (like go through them and up the price or ask support).

However it still does not seem to go this low:

http://www.fotolia.com/Info/Contributors

Seems to suggest that the lowest one can get is 35% of 20 credits which should be $7. Wait, how about the witholding tax? If the max of 30% is applied on that it means $4.9.

Ok, did few searches and as far as I can tell, all Vetta and Agency files simply go first in the Best Match and only after that the rest. I would say this is a bug or something that will get sorted another way in up to few days at max.

Because it does not make much sense. I can't imagine IS would think business works this way.

31
The price difference between these files is so huge that I would be very surprised if IS will be able to just sell them by pushing them up the search results. That's silly idea.

Hack, it is 700% more for Vetta and 1000% more for Agency than for standard non exclusive file (L size).

So does this mean roughly this: the prices shifted, so the new level 0 is the previous level 1 prices. So in reality all our pics with any download moved one level up from price perspective?

Huch:

Considering the anniversary as well as price increase, we've decided to offer all our imagery free of charge for the day. Designers or simple members will be able to download any images for free, promoting the site to their business partners, associates or friends. This is available only for a 24 hour window on April 1st 2011 and should allow everyone to adjust to the new price structure.

April Fools. Try it :)

:D

The ID and address proof are (for my country which is part of EU) required when getting close to certain treshold in yearly recieved amount. This happened to me quite some time ago and it did not result in change of my account type. It is still personal.

Because it was designed to produce a fixed percentage of profit and therefore only a certain percentage of contributors can be at each commission level. If average sales were to rise and they didn't increase the targets then more contributors would qualify for higher commissions. However ... if sales were to fall ... then fewer and fewer contributors will be able to sustain their own commission levels ... unless they adjust the targets accordingly. That's why RC targets were 'generously' reduced at the end of the year __ because the original sales projections turned out to be over-optimistic.

Exactly.  Great explanation :)

It seems pretty obvious that RC targets will be connected to sales levels.  Not sure why that should even be up for debate?

Except that it could be to opposite :]. They may have targets in $ instead of %. Which would require moving the targets up in case of lower sales to get the overall % down and hit the $ target.

Uhhh....

I've experienced delays when the batch ended up with 'partially failed' status. In every case this happened, it was because of 'file processing error' in one of the files in the batch. Which I assume means some type of technical problem with the file itself (rather than the photo content of it). I also assume that in this case the batch goes to some other queue.

did they say raise the money to 0.28 a sale ??but i still got 0.25 a sale in FEB ???

Hmmmmm... excellent point.  My earnings don't seem to be divisable by 28?   ??? :P

No one ever said the former StockXpert (i.e. Hemera collection) will go to 0.28.

New Sites - General / Re: Earnings on Zoonar
« on: March 08, 2011, 09:06 »
That was a special deal they made (and obviously Deutsche Telekom was the buyer). You should have gotten an e-mail in advance indicating what picture they intend to buy and for what usage, and you had to agree.
That's how it worked for me. It's been a while ago that they asked, and now the deal seems to have settled.
could be, don't remember.

I wonder if anyone is having sales at Zoonar. I had some Polylooks sales in the past, and I've got one Telecom sale, but I am not getting anything else than that. 0 sales of Zoonar itself, or any other partner.

Exact same experience here.

Same here. 500+ files there, opted in all partners that offer micro option.

Unbelievable mix of people in microstock, indeed.

Me with my white sheet of paper, $500 DSLR and two lenses making hardly $300 per month and someone with such a huge investment into the equipment. And all those in between. Interesting that it all can sell in one marketplace.

^^^ Huh, are you really sure you gave it enough thoughts? 42$ for what? 168 sales? 0.25 a license? Is that something you should be thankful for?

I S T O C K   B A Dddddddd  R E S T  O F  T H E  W O R L D  G O O Dddddddddd.... is that better?  ;D I love this place you guys are so nutty!

So not a glimpse into your thoughts about the hefty drop in commission your loyalty to Istock just bought you then? You really have swallowed it hook, line & sinker haven't you?
Here's a glimpse, the big hefty drop has turned out to be a drop of about 2% because of Vetta/Agency sells....

Congrats to your 'relative' success to stay at almost the previous level... Your 2% drop could have been nice increase, but you are obviously free to be thankful for staying at the same level.

Are you guys blind or what? Grab the two images, make them into layers with bit of transparency on the upper one, you will clearly see that all the significant lines matches exactly. I mean EXACTLY.

That's not a coincidence, that's just a clear copying. Yeah, he added few elements, probably even his own. I guess this means for you it is ok.

Clearly the agencies do not think so, and I'm glad they do not.

Sorry, this is disgusting, and I don't mean only the copying, I mean also the discussion in here. People just come in saying 'hey this is generic item' and 'I have already seen images like this'. And what? Just because anyone can draw a len, it is ok to copy them? What type of argument is that?

Yes, apparently it is closed to zero. On the other hand they disclosing personal account information and allowing people to steal from others by not fixing it. That is rather serious issue.

Just curious, was it a single event or are people reporting such problems?

It was not a single event, it happens to various people from time to time (as Warren points out for more than a year).

The support guy (Darek, obviously in charge of StockXpert stuff at IS) got back to me in timely manner and in very polite tone and said he will ensure the payment goes to my Paypal address. He did not said whether it was already going to my address or if someone indeed attempted to get the money.

Anyhow, he did not sound surprised to hear I just got to someone else account and someone else got to mine. Obviously a known bug.

This (the login/account problem) is not a new "feature."  It has happened to me more than once and I have reported it more than once.

All occurrences were after StockXpert was acquired by that other entity.

Yes, I know it is not new, although this is the first time it happened to me. What makes it special (at least for me :]) is that someone went ahead and requested the payout of may $58.

So, I opened the StockXPert page today morning, logged into my account and then navigated away. When I returned to the page bit later during the same browser session, I noticed that I'm still logged in but to a different account (with much greater balance). I thought 'crap'. Logged out and logged in again with my credentials. And so I was back to my account. Then I checked my balance just to notice someone has requested payment at 2:26 AM my time yesterday (when I was asleep).

My profile still has the same correct paypal address. I don't know if it is possible for someone to change it, request payment and then change it back, so that I don't notice anything. I'm not sure if payment address is recorded at the moment of payment request and goes with the payment or if it is used at the moment of payment processing from the account.

Anyway, this is real crap.

EDIT: I've contacted support and requested them to verify the payment is going to correct Paypal address. Anyhow, this is pretty serious security issue.
