I was hoping things would catch up a bit since May, but no. I also am getting reviewed after 27 days, and I only get the images that are over 27 days reviewed. I know someone who is getting overnight reviews. It is demotivating for sure!

Thanks Michael, I appreciate your courtesy very much. To clarify, yes, there is a large volume of generative AI content coming in which has created a backlog in the moderation queue. As mentioned, we have recently set upload limits to give the moderation team a chance to catch up in the queue. We are looking at up to 5 weeks in some cases for review times. I'm hopeful we will get that wait time down to a more reasonable level in the weeks to come.

Thanks to most of you ;) for your patience,

Mat Hayward

Hi Mat, thanks for the info but is there a reason, that you would give here, why some contributors images are not reviewed for a month while other contributors that submitted more recently are getting reviewed? I can accept waiting patiently except for the fact that it doesn't seem to be fairly spread out based on upload dates. I have less than 100 in the queue, the person I know with many reviews over the last month is usually at or under 100 in review at a time. I am speaking of AI mostly, though I do have one photo that is also waiting longer than typical. Neither of us are new adobe contributors.

Thanks,
Impatient for review justice  ;)

No, sorry but I don't have specific details on moderation queues and how they are set up to share.

thanks for the question,

Mat

I didn't really think you would. I was just stating the situation. :D  But thanks for responding anyway, I finally see some progress. My 8 oldest images in the queue were reviewed in about 25 days! Let's hope it continues to progress so everyone can get a fair shake!!

Im over 30 days now. The status went from saying how many days ago I submitted my content to saying Submitted last month.

To clarify, the date range you see in your pending files is based on the date you uploaded the image to the Adobe Stock contributor portal, not the date you actually submit the file for review. If you uploaded a file and wait for a while before submitting, the time pending you see will be longer than the actual time it has been in the queue.

That said, I acknowledge the wait time is still significant but progress is being made. We appreciate your patience.

I  always submit images on the same day I upload them, so the time I see there is the actual review time - 26 days for me right now, so I do not see this 'progress' that is being made, because review times get longer for me, not shorter.  :-\

I am at 24 days waiting. I also submit on the same day I upload them.  I even have a photo in review that also has not gotten reviewed. Is there more than one queue a person might end up in? I have a friend doing AI that has been getting reviewed all along, they just got like 40 more reviewed that were uploaded within the last week or so while mine sit for 24 days?

Contributor Care is outsourced individuals, not SSTK employees. You might as well have contacted a chatbot for that reply.

Levels are recorded at Midnight and supposed to be credited back to when you actually reached the new level. Sometimes it takes a day to show, but they are supposed to adjust everything to the specific time the level was achieved.

That's has always been the way it worked.

I know the contributor care are outsourced people, usually ex reviewers or submitters. The email I received was a response from my question forwarded to the next level of contact, which in my experience is usually someone at SS who manages the contributor care. Agreed that any response might as well be a bot, but as far as I know it's the only route to getting any kind of answer these days or alerting to an issue.

I've never had any level issues in the past, but I'm not surprised by any IT issues from SS. I was more concerned whether the level issue was just me or more people affected.

Regardless of the cause it just feels like another attempt to eek out an additional day of lower commissions and blame it on a glitch.

I received my level up confirmation email Tuesday evening.

Oh good, I got my confirmation as well.  Here is the response I finally got from SS today.

"I fully understand how important is for your to get your level information on time. I have investigated this information with our Higher division and they mentioned that it seems there was a delay in the level display section, however, upon checking the information in the system, it is now visible.
We apologize for this error and are working with our tech teams to correct this issue to ensure that the following levels can be displayed at the proper time.

Shutterstock Contributor Care Team"

Not like that helps anything. Just another issue to watch for. Glad you got your confirmation!

Same here, no level change notification.

Great  :-\

I had my request forwarded to SS, we'll see if I get an email answer.

Just wondering if anyone else has reached a new level recently and not had it reflected on the home page within a reasonable time. I reached a level threshold on Sunday morning and it still says I'm at the former level. In the past I thought that rolled over after you get one dl above the threshold amount, this is over 24 hours later. Of course the 'expert' assured me that I should be getting paid the new percentage on all downloads above the threshold with no proof of that actually happening.   :-\

9
I know a submitter who has had hundreds of sales in the past few days. Hundreds on either one photo or a few photos and all under SODs

10
I usually check my stats more than once a day. Now I only see a Shutterstock blog page for a dashboard. My stats are hidden. I have to scroll around to see if my recent uploaded files,.. I mean my  "+Add's",  have been reviewed or not. Totally unusable except to hide sales information from contributors. In that way it is a success!

Shutterstock.com / Re: SS strict rejection policy
« on: September 17, 2022, 14:33 »
"I notice there is a difference with rejections for me, compared to a few weeks ago. In my experience I have not gotten the instant rejections until now.  I had an image that had some light flares in it on a bike frame. I had intentionally enhanced the flares liking the effect.  It was rejected for noise. I resubmitted and it was rejected again for noise. I got rid of the flares in case they were the noise. Still rejected for noise. I reduced the size, ran it through noise software and always got the immediate noise rejection."

I'm not looking for a critique, just making a comment.  I uploaded 7 times, and got instant rejections. In the past, it was not instant unless the Qs were empty.  It doesn't seem to be getting a new look,  but just rejected for the same thing over and over.

I realize they have 80 gazillion images, but if a submitter is not able to ever correct an error or get another look.....

Adobe Stock / Re: AS rejections
« on: August 09, 2022, 17:47 »
I came searching for "rejections from AS"  because some photos I submitted at the beginning of August had rejections for Quality Issues.  It seemed odd to me that the rejections were a wide range of subjects, dates taken and different camera/lens combinations. They were photos from shoots of recently approved similar photos, studio lighting, outdoors, and some isolated on white. No other rejection reason.  It stood out enough for me to go looking in the forums for answers. Typically I also have a high acceptance rate.

« on: March 19, 2022, 18:53 »
Same here,.. still missing images from the 11th.  Here is the response I got from another expert on the case:

"It's a known problem and I'm really sorry about your frustration! Please rest assured that your contents are safe, but they just don't show online temporarily! Having the files deleted and reapproved, wont help with the bug and they may never get approved again. Please kindly wait till the issue is resolved. You can continue your work as usual. Thanks. Please do not delete them as it will not help. "

I responded "deleting them will help me, as long as I can get them accepted"

I'm so glad to know my missing images are "safe"

This is the message I got today from a SS expert:

"Numerous contributors are reporting the same problem.  A system fault is causing the publishing delay and Shutterstock technical team have been notified.  This will be fixed as soon as possible and, hopefully, your content will be published within the next couple of days.

It's mostly images from the 10-11th March, but I have several missing that were approved yesterday. It's a pretty widespread issue, which is why it might take a couple of days for all the missing images to populate throughout the database.

Again, apologies for the inconvenience."

Of course this missing photos thing has happened in the past, but interestingly, this time my only missing photos are the model released ones. One of mine is missing from the 11th of March, the other missing photo is from March 14, both released.

My $ per photo is also very bad. Much worse than last year.

I got a .10 On Demand, which I have not seen before, and don't know how that could be calculated off of a single image purchase.

I would understand if they negotiated a "discount" rate, but assumed those would fall under SODs (understand does not equal being happy, I would just get their logic :-\ )

Looks like I might make less than I did my first month Jan 2014.  Thats ten times less than my monthly peak.

I had to go back to 2011 to find similar earnings compared to the first half of January 2022.

Comparing my numbers after the levels change from the first part of Jan 2021 to 2022, my DL's are 22% less and my $$ are 28% less.

How are your sales this month?
Mine are poor in numbers and money (on Shutterstock) ...

Ditto, for me, with SS!! Numbers of downloads are not as bad as the earnings for me, but lower than its been in years.  Compared to last January there are less OD's and less larger SOD's to make up the diffference in dollars.  First time in forever that Adobe is now my top.

Shutterstock.com / Re: Anyone get paid from Shutterstock yet?
« on: December 12, 2021, 10:04 »
Do not wait till the 15th to contact support. They say payouts by the 15th but most companies give a range of dates to account for delays.

I didn't get paid in June.  It's an error that has been going on since at least last January.  I contacted support and was told it was "due to an error in the system that pulls together accounts eligible for payouts" and also that I'd be paid in the next cycle. They generally issue one payout cycle a month.

Experts like Kevin are the "newer" contributor support hired to answer simple questions, they know general answers.  I do not remember if the expert gave me another email link to contact or if I found one on the site.

19
I also had numerous images deleted since June.  This is a response I received about an image of mine of a child sticking their tongue out.

"The image became unacceptable in light of new child policy regulations. In short we have to remove and no longer accept any images that may be deemed by regulators as inappropriate. This includes this kind of images where children stick their tongues out. While we consider them innocent there are people out there who dont so we must prevent any inappropriate usage and the only way to do this is to systematically remove everything we had online and no longer accept such images."

Seems like that could apply to almost any subject  :-\

Just got an email technical error will pay you June 15... Something doesn't add up. It is MY money you are withholding and a technical glitch doesn't take a month to fix!!
They aren't going to bend over backwards by doing a special run for us not good but I wouldn't read more than that into it.

I agree.  They have an automated payout once a month and they aren't going to go out of their way to do a special payment.  I do hope they actually fix the error and keep on top of it unlike they have since this first started happening back in January or potentially even earlier.  I'm more concerned that this has happened twice to at least one person's account.

As far as people assuming not getting paid is a bug......
I have been submitting for a long time and this is the first time I have not been paid during a payout cycle.  I have contacted support and have been told there was an error and unfortunately I'll be paid in the next cycle by June 15.
I have seen in the forums that this seems to be going on since around January...this should be concerning to us all.
Making multiple payments a month wouldn't be typical business practice.  Yes they say by the 15th of the month but most companies give a range of dates to account for any delays.
