Google does deindex sites and pages that are suspected of private black hat networks once a while.

iStockPhoto.com / Re: The Graph Say It All - sales vs $
« on: August 14, 2013, 03:36 »
I'm very very unhappy with this unproductive site. It has been months since i've stopped uploading. OP is definitely right, this is probably it ,IS nailed it's own coffin. If sales continue this way in a few months, i will have no choice but the remove my port from the site. No point of having more downloads figure while income slumped.

p/s-  Fingers crossed , i think this will be the only month i'm not able to cash out after all these years being with IS

I don't see how on earth a smartphone can take these photos. But if smartphone manufacturers are willing to put a high end lens onto their phone and selling it for 300 bucks. I'll be the first to jump ship.

I noticed all of my photos are 1/2 of their values in istockphoto. Anyone has the script to delete all your photos from istock ? i'm considering a permanent removal of all my photos there.

Please have a feature  to at least group or sort the model release by alphabets. its annoying to have the MR scrambled all over

There was a time when istock was my highest earner. last month , my SS is earnings is 20 times my istock earnings. i'm currently stopping all uploads until it's worthwhile to spend time uploading to this site.

. It amounts to a roughly 3.7% royalty rate.

Image bank with 6M+ royalty-free images, vectors and videos. Find the right photo for your next creative project. More than 8000 photos added daily.

It seems that there are plenty of photographers who don't mind being paid 3.7%

I'm a very happy 123rf contributor with steady increasing payout. 2012 was great but they are improving months by months on 2013

Shutterstock.com / Re: Change of Most popular
« on: May 10, 2013, 03:45 »
I noticed all my most popular files have changed ranking dramatically with a sudden drop on sales too. Files that are first page are now 4th page and those 4th are now back to 1st page. Anyone experiencing this ?

Hmm. There does appear to have been a major shuffle in the 'Popular' order with more weight given to best-selling newer images.

Being as it only appears to have happened in the last few hours it is clearly way too early to determine the overall or long-term effect on sales. It should be a zero-sum effect for SS but obviously could affect individual contributors very differently.

Right, i think i've been hit. 30% sales drop. Fingers crossed and hope it will be back soon  :-\

iStockPhoto.com / Re: Uploaded limits raised to 999
« on: April 26, 2013, 19:24 »
Thank you istock, your sales are so crappy now that I can consider stopping uploads to your site which is extra tedious and it's not worth the time anymore. For the few months, my earnings from smaller sites such as 123, ft and even macrosites have surpasses istock photo.
Because they raised the upload limits to 999?

sorry it's a little irrelevant to the topic. What I earn from SS monthly is 9 times higher than IS. What i earn from photography service daily is 6 times higher than what I can earn from IS monthly.  The keywording process and model release arrangement are hassle. so as far as my concern, they are not worthy as they used to be anymore. You can claim yourself to be the no.1 agency or whatsoever , the sales statement says it all.

At that kind of resolution and images without watermark at all , i think people will be stealing it first.

at least we can be more confident that shutterstock will not be taken over by Getty now.
