"Everything they touch seem to turn into something soft and brown "

seems like the majority of my images fall into this category  ;D

Yep, "sticky, soft & brown"...  ;D

but i produce 50 MP pictures and it a shame to downsize them to 20 or less.

In my view, this is the wrong approach! You get between $0.10 and $0.20 for most downloads, and with the revenue you worry about the generous buyer only getting a 20 MP photo? How many downloads do you need to even begin to recoup the cost of an equimpment that allows 50MP?

From a financial point of view, I think you need to rethink!

That's my answer too. Just downsize and move on. Giving away 50MP images for a dime is not going to make more than giving away 10MP images for a dime. And if the 10MP images come from that 50MP camera (what the heck is that?) and you are downsizing, you'll have almost no rejections for focus, pixelation, grain, soft or any of the other absurd rejections from the SS Bots.

When SS was still worthy, I used to send them only the minimum size (6Mpx). The full format was available only on my website, if buyers needed more..

Years ago I lived by the US border and regularly cycled the boundary to take pictures and submit to agencies. When I described the image as a US farm I was being technically accurate. The border has official markers indicating exactly where the border is and I would many times step into the US to improve the framing of my shot. One day a US Patrol Officer drove up after I stepped back into my country. He explained that the rules were strict. I apologized and told him that that would be the last time. He was very good about it and even allowed me to take a photo of him standing beside his patrol car. That all changed very quickly. US Border Patrol
helicopters began following me every time I cycled the border. I think they didn't like what I was doing and would do whatever they could to make me uncomfortable.

i can understand why they're so strict - if we don't come down hard on those Canadian 'photographers', soon we'll have thousands of Afghans & Syrians crossing the border to 'take pictures'

just finished 'Infinite Jest' again, where Canadian border problems play an essential plotline

The invasion will come from Canada !!!  8) ::) :)

General Stock Discussion / Re: Fraud?

I have seen images on one website under a man's name and the same images on SS under a woman's name. Of course only the very best images they are and all often bought according to SS. How can two people with different genders, once it is a man and the other time a woman, have the copyright to the same images? Is one of them stealing images?
Possible, I would probably report it directly to the SS user... You can also do an image search on google and see if there's more to find.

General Stock Discussion / Re: VECPHO - anyone heard of them?

They offered me $2000 upfront if I sign some "Collaboration Statement" giving them a non-exclusive right to distribute my files. With only 200-ish files to give them, I conclude they're either deluded, or maybe they have access to some unknown marketplace (very doubtful). I played it safe, I ignore them.

Send them 20-30 images you don't use anywhere, and tell them they have 6 month to prove their utility...

Difficult to give advice without seeing the image first... is it a logo copyright problem, a person or building release problem ?
