Software - General / Re: new Application for Photographer
« on: November 14, 2008, 10:17 »
Are you going to update it? It does not work with SX any more and it has stopped working with SS today. It stopped showing DT and 123rf todays DLs several weeks ago. And for me it never showed IS todays DLs. This way it would soon turn useless, which I would be very sorry about. I liked this application.

Since when has Canstock Photo been a microstock innovator ??? I must have missed it! :-)

iStockPhoto.com / Re: How's Your Month Shaping Up?
« on: November 10, 2008, 05:22 »
It's a disaster for me, Istock used to be either #1 or #2, however this month, even bigstock, stockxpert, fotolia, shutterstock, 123rf all are head of Istock, does that ever happen to you?

Well, yes. Almost every month. BS and IS usually compete which of them will be the worst earner of the month. SS, DT, FT, SX and even 123 are always far better than IS.

Wow - about ten sales have just appeared!!! But when I want to check them on my balance page, I always get the error message too.

Exactly. Why would anybody steal images (or "buying" them with a stolen card) if they did not want to use them?

Crestock.com / Re: Crestock Rejects?
« on: November 03, 2008, 15:28 »
I suspect there is one bloody idiot who refuses almost everything. I have now 5/25 accepted only. And I usually do much better than that even there. But I have noticed that one i a while I got almost everything rejected - and usually there is another mail about how great  my pictures are. So I really think it is always the same "reviewer". I am almost tempted to send it to the JoshCrestock guy to compare this batch to - say - three last. And to tell me why so many images got accepted in one batch and so many got rejected in the other. Is the quality of my work changing so often? I would not say so...

I do not like it at all. It is November and I still do not know anything about the "lost" sales in the first half of October. Did they record the sales at all? If not, they should double the earnings for the second half of October - at the very least - to compensate us.

I can get to the Istockphoto homepage with no problem, but I can't log-in.

Same for me.

84
Nope. I am way over 5000 USD and I have not got any poll either.

85
I have had two sales so far. Looks good! One of them was paid for very quickly, the other one is taking its time... It is still grey.

What is reason "fraud"? Meaning somebody has our images and paid for them by a stolen card e.g.? Then it should be the agency loss, not ours. I cannot imagine a shop not paying for the goods to their suppliers because the goods got stolen e.g. or paid for by a stolen card. This "customer refund" of theirs is egregious!

87
Oh, I do not know. I would say it is just a coincidence as I have noticed a drop in sales recently too and I have had almost all images accepted in the respective period of time.

Adobe Stock / Re: accepted images at Fotolia
« on: October 24, 2008, 16:21 »
Not speaking about just Fotolia, but it's not a bad idea to keep a folder of similars and when the originals start to lose momentum, push through a fresh batch.  I remember Sy posting that once during a slow period she went through old folders and came up with many new submissions and was rewarded with sales.

I usually do exactly that. And it works well for me - especially on SS.

I must admit my sales are loads better this month than usual. Never have I had so many sales there berore. But they are 100% subs. So I must say I am not too happy about them...

I do not think the other one is so useless. I have sold a very similar one several times.

In fact I can see only one JIU sale... I do not think it is working properly Steve. I used to have them every day.

« on: October 21, 2008, 11:51 »
I agree the new reviewers are a bit overzealous to say the least. I have had at least one photo rejected out of every batch recently. The reasons are ridiculous and the photos were accepted everywhere else. I think they do the stupid rejections so that nobody can say they are doing nothing....

This is really annoying and I am getting angry. Not only are there still no sales for the first half of October, but I have had hardly any sales at all recently! No bookmarks are working, no links, no nothing! Not even the link from this site. StockMon is not able to access the site any more either. I wonder whether this is happening at the buyers end too. If yes, it is a disaster!

I got one of these today for one image and have replied asking for clarification. Will post here if I get a worthwhile answer.

At least they notified you. On another site, my account had a reversal and when I asked why, they said, they didn't track that. No big deal for me, only 50c, but no notice, no reason, no clue? At least DT has been giving notice and a reason.

I don't know, but when I buy something online, the CC is verified before the purchase is completed. When I pay for food or go shopping, the payment is electronically verified, before I get the goods. Maybe the photo sites are getting hit with stolen CCs and only find out after the photos are downloaded, which can be days or weeks later. In other words, the card is checked and passes through at first, and the charges are later reversed by the CC company.

What else can they do? Someone sings up and wants photos, then they say, you have to wait two weeks, for the payment to clear and account verification, before you can download? How many buyers would just go somewhere else if that happened.

This assumes that the payments are being checked live on the site as they should be.

What else can they do??? Are you serious? It is THEIR responsibility and their risk. They accepted the fraud-cc. Not us! They must not transfer their loss to us! I hate being so helpless. We just must let them do whatever they want with our money. This is just risk-free for them, isntt it? If the sale is OK, they grab their huge percentage of the sale and are so nice to let us have the teeeeeny rest. And if the sale turns out to be fraud - they just take our money away without our being able to prevent it! And even after a lot of months! This really stiknks. OK - I would be willing to give them a week to check the payments (like BS). But past the week - it must be their loss. I strongly disagree to having my money stolen from my account after several weeks.

Exactly - August which is said to be a slow month was much better than either September or October. In September SS even was not my best earner.

Superfast at reviewing may they be, but the sales are going to hell. I did not sell a single photo for the whole weekend. Never have I had two zero sales days before! And I have had sales almost everywhere else over the weekends recently.

What is going on with them??? I upload regularly and I had ZERO sales yesterday! Anyone else has ever had zero sales? It is ridiculous. I usually have a few dozens DLs every day. But the stupid weekends are growing worse and worse.

I can log-in too and I have even had one photos.com sale. But nothing for the last two weeks! And I can see some mistake in earnings - unless it is a bonus from SX for the bug!

Featurepics.com / Re: No sale in 4 months!
« on: October 17, 2008, 02:47 »
funny, everyone talks about YAYmicro and Featurepics, having no sales...
but you don't hear anyone asking the same question about SnapVillage,
Image Catalog,etc...
from what i hear , they don't sell either. or is it just my network ?

That is easy to explain. I have regular sales at SnapVillage, but zero sales at YaY and not a single sales for about half a year at Feature.
