"I understand what you are saying but all the columns became offset on the file.
So, while your name is on there, it is not your last 4 or your address.

The forms only show the last 4 digits of the social anyways, but the one listed does not go with the name on the form.

All we can do is amend all the forms at this point and that is what is being done.
We are all human here and unfortunately, mistakes happen."

I received someone else's 1099, but my address.

It was always my understanding that DT doesn't send tax info for under $600, which I did NOT make, but neither did the person's 1099 I got.

As I recall, Pond5 only sends out 1099s if youve earned more than $600.  I always have to compute my taxable income from them manually as a result.

Yeah, but now that Pond5 is a Shutterstock company, there's a chance (maybe next year) that they'll put all three company's earnings on one 1099 form.

I just received the 1099 and it has Bigstock/Shutterstock, but NO Pond5.

1) Anyone receive their SS 1099 yet?

2) Will/does it include Pond5 earnings?

Thanks!

Mine came with a "Top-up amount for Jun-Aug sale." for whatever that's worth.

The Internal Revenue Service is delaying the new $600 reporting threshold for 1099-K tax forms, a move many tax experts believe will help avoid potential chaos this upcoming filing season.

The updated law, enacted by the American Rescue Plan, required third-party transaction networks such as Venmo, Paypal, eBay, and Etsy to issue a 1099-K for users who had more than $600 in payment transactions during the year. The previous threshold was $20,000 with over 200 transactions.

Does anyone know if the "Contributor Fund" money is subject to the Earning Schedule/Levels? Will this also reset in January?

« on: October 25, 2022, 07:13 »
Were excited to announce that we are partnering with OpenAI to bring the tools and experiences to the Shutterstock marketplace that will enable our customers to instantly generate and download images based on the keywords they enter.

As we step into this emerging space, we are going to do it in the best way we know howwith an approach that both compensates our contributor community and protects our customers.

In this spirit, we will not accept content generated by AI to be directly uploaded and sold by contributors in our marketplace because its authorship cannot be attributed to an individual person consistent with the original copyright ownership required to license rights. Please see our latest guidelines here. When the work of many contributed to the creation of a single piece of AI-generated content, we want to ensure that the many are protected and compensated, not just the individual that generated the content.

In the spirit of compensating our contributor community, we are excited to announce an additional form of earnings for our contributors. Given the collective nature of generative content, we developed a revenue share compensation model where contributors whose content was involved in training the model will receive a share of the earnings from datasets and downloads of ALL AI-generated content produced on our platform.

We see generative as an exciting new opportunityan opportunity that were committed to sharing with our contributor community. For more information, please see our FAQ on the subject, which will be updated regularly.

123RF / Editorial vs. Commercial
« on: September 01, 2022, 11:28 »
Wow, what a cluster this has become. (I understand that there has been a discussion of PLUS vs. Premium...)

Has anyone figured out how to differentiate their images between editorial and commercial? They make you click a button that indemnifies 123RF from being sued, so I'm not going to upload until they let me mark images as editorial.

They have turned uploading into an IQ test and I'm failing. I have sent emails (multiple) and have heard nothing in return.

ugh.

I just uploaded and I don't think that it gave me the choice of commercial vs. editorial.

Good lord, who asks for these changes??????

General Stock Discussion / Drone license/Part 107
« on: July 05, 2022, 18:56 »
I am deciding whether to add a drone to my gear but I'd like a little feedback on what is involved with getting the license.

I downloaded an 88 page study guide - I have to pay $175, register, find a testing location and score better than 70% on the test.

TSA background checks, retesting every 24 months (free? $175? on-line?)

I guess my question is, is it worth it?

Thank you Schadenfreude I'll do a bit more research - might practice on a very old Nikon I have first.  Worth learning just nerve wracking.

As long as you're not experimenting with any of the wet wipes, you should be ok. Do yourself a favor and take an unfocused picture of a completely white computer screen at f22 (or whatever your smallest setting is) before and after you clean the sensor - if you did it correctly, you should see much fewer spots. I've been told not to "swipe" with the brush but to dab.

You'll get it.

I'm constantly changing lenses on windy days, so I have an inexpensive sensor cleaning kit - get one with the brush and a squeeze air pump. Also, get a lighted magnifying glass so you can see what you're doing.

When companies make their web-experience more difficult, I find that it's their subtle way of directing you to the app. None of the changes are meant for the contributor's convenience; in the business world of assets vs. liabilities, guess which one we are.

I still can't see all stats in DeepMeta app, something wrong with it?

"Instead, you can download statement text files from the Getty site manually and import them in DeepMeta, using the new Import button or by drag-and-drop. Note: statements already loaded in DeepMeta are unaffected."

You should try using a "real" camera and see if more of your pictures are accepted.
