Down 10% to last month, and up 18 to September 2011. Best four: Shutterstock, DepositPhotos,  Zazzle, Photospin
Seriously ... Zazzle, Photospin ? Were those like a single $1000 sale that just skewed the results or are you seriously getting regular sales?
I am getting regular sales every month with Zazzle and Photospin. Zazzle does has its spikes but last month was more low. I am only a few month with Photospin, but I had sales right from the beginning.

General Stock Discussion / Re: Referral Earnings
« on: July 05, 2012, 16:35 »
In my opinion referral and affiliate income is part of the microstock business model. Yes the biggest part is your photography, but if you have to place a link somewhere to your portfolio or link to a agency, why not linking with a referral link? If you have your own website and link to your different portfolios, why not using referral links.

You could give a workshop with at your photo club about stock photography (probably for free). Ask them to sign up through the links on your website.

I think you can make some income with referrals and don't have to invest to much time in it.

I wish it would be as easy as Zazzle, then I would spend more time there. But it is just to time consuming to create the BC there. (I think) But I have not done it in quite some time, maybe I should try it again.

Mostphotos.com / Re: who would have thought?
« on: April 19, 2012, 10:32 »
I believe (unless they have changed it) buyers do not see the Likes from contributor to contiributor. The site looks different for buyers vs. contributors. At least it was like this when MP change website layout (I think) 2 years ago.

Like use to have an effect, but MP change this a long time ago. And they mad this very clear at this time that Like's will have no more effect on the placement of you image.

General Stock Discussion / stolen images by bayoe.me

Looks like they http://bayoe.me/ use stolen images or grab the images with a search right of different sites.

Put your user name or real name in the search on the bottom right. It comes up with a mixture of stuff from your websites.

I can defiantly see a difference in traffic and income when promoting my store. The two networks that generate the most traffic are twitter and pinterest.

« on: February 13, 2012, 10:54 »
Someone could say that it take much more time and money to generate the sale then to create the product. Other outlets may spend millions of $ on advertisement and then give the supplier only little. There are many approaches to this. And when looking at all the POD, then Zazzle is doing by far the best. And in the end it counts that you do have sales.

Thank you!

« on: February 13, 2012, 08:58 »
I think you underestimate Zazzle. From all the POD site Zazzle is the best ( I think ). You make 15% on a referral sale. When reading Zazzle forum, there are many that is all they do. They don't create product, just creating referral links. And they make a living with it. Not sure how they do it, but it is possible.

So in a way Zazzle does spend money on advertising, it is just a different way, and they only spend it when there is a sale. When you think about it, then that is smart from Zazzle point of view.

I agree that it is more difficult to sell on DevianArt, RedBubble, ArtisRising, ImageKind, ...
Cafepress - for what I was reading some have good results and others don't have any luck.

The one that stands out is Zazzle. You start creating products there and you will have sales. It just depends on how much afford you put into it.

Zazzle income is still rising for me. I use the same images that I use for stock photography. But it takes time to create product. Much more time then creating image for microstock. But then you get more money per sale. Zazzle belongs to my top earner. I guess it is a balance of time. Sometimes you have to spend more time on the POD and then again on stock photography.

Yes the blog is an attempt to increase the affiliate/referral earnings. You can only make money with sales, not with referring a new contributor. I hope that I can see after one month if it works or not.
