Don't do uploads to Istock anymore. Have deleted part of the images that sell well at other websites and have a still a lot to delete. Just saw that I sold an image for 8 (!) cents.

I've stopped uploading about two weeks ago and I don't think I will restart in the near future. I hardly see any downloads above 29 cents while it used to be a meagre 32. Going down, down, down....

It's above FT and slightly below DT as far as I'm concerned. And they p(l)ay fair!

Shutterstock.com / Re: No downloads SS before 12.00 in Europe?
« on: September 15, 2011, 08:07 »
I'd say my morning sales today are stronger than the past few days (and Tuesday was my BDE).

If you don't mind me asking, how many sales would you typically have by around 12 in Europe?  If normally in the 10 range or under, and you have 0 so far today, that might not be statistically significant, but if it's normally 40 or 50 or more, then that would be truly strange and call for troubleshooting.

I wish. No average is about ten or a bit more.
Just bad luck these days then.
Thanks!

« on: September 15, 2011, 05:09 »
Hi, I have been now with SS for almost 4 years and I think this has never happened to me. I have no downloads up till now for today and yesterday has happened the same. I don't think there is a major european holiday so I wonder if anyone else is experiencing this as an abnormality or is it just bad luck?  Also I have about 20 images waiting for review for many days now which is also (almost) an abnormality. I understand more are experiencing this. What's happening?

I like DT too but I wonder why they reject editorial images of vintage postcards. Lately I got rejections because: " We have reviewed your file and this is not quite what we're looking for" They don't seem to understand that these images sell. I have a few who slipped through and they are all selling.

15 subscription and five credit sales and I have a RPD of  83 cents. In June I had almost only credit sales and had a RPD 2.07. Maybe it comes and goes

I just had a reject this morning of an editorial image of a coca cola truck with the remark that it was rejected beacause it ' Contains potential trademark or copyright infringement' . Makes me wonder if the reviewer even noticed it to be an editorial.

Stay and upload selectively from now on .

If in the future they try to transfer all non-exclusive content to TS and make IS exclusives only , I'm out

Thanks! I'll start deleting my bestsellers next month as they still make some money. I'll leave a few just to see what they'll do.

I had a API sale a few days ago but I don't know what that is and when do I see how much I earned with that sale?

115
I think I'll leave. I will not let hem sell my images for free and therefore not selling at the more expensive agencies. If all these great images of all of us are practically given away for free why would buyers go elsewhere? Delete , delete, delete...
But how to delete? I don't know how to do this anymore. Can anyone give me some information on this?

I started uploading some images again the last couple of weeks and I want to delete those first. I forgot how to delete files. Anyone can tell me how to do this? Thanks

Very slow, rejections with no explanation and hardly any sales. I used to sell there but it has stopped almost totally the last year. I uploaded some images in june and some haven't been reviewed yet. I would say it isn't worth it...

I'm very happy with Dreamstime the last months. Lots of XL sales and Dreamstime is now nr 2 after SS. Istock  has sunk below 123RF and is hardly worth looking at anymore.  Dreamstime is doing well!

I have earned more sofar at DT or FT than Istock this month. Dramatic fall compared to last year and may turns out to be worse tha april. I didn't know about P (I hardly look at Istock anymore) but I'll give it a try

Last week I discovered some old photos which are selling (still) very well at SS and thought I could upgrade them whith my better photoshop abilties. For example I made some brighter. Apart from one they were all rejected. And they are definitely better than the ones who are still selling well. And they were rejected for reasons like ' Limited commercial value due to framing, cropping, and/or composition'  . Astounding .. They are like five years old and still bestsellers....

« on: March 26, 2011, 06:24 »
@jsfoto: I totally agree with you. I hadn't uploaded to PM for quite a while and with the new structure I uploaded some of my best new images which are doing well everywhere. Apart from 5 (!) they were alle rejected. I don't know why because they didn't tell. I have a few more which have been uploaded but still to be submitted. I try those and when the result is the same, I will not upload there anymore. To much hassle for too few euros...

My income at IS (non exclusive) has dropped 30% compared to january last year and almost 50% compared to january 2009. I'm at Istock since 2007. As SS income has increased 30% with last january.

Thanks for the info! It takes quite some time to make it right and I haven't figured out most of it but I will some day ;) Is having fans important for sales? Thanks anyway. I will 'fan' you as well...
