Print on Demand Forum / Re: Nice earning in Zazzle
« on: January 23, 2011, 07:22 »
Thanks! I have been able to create three products but they do not appear in my store. Does it take a long time or could I have done something wrong? http://www.zazzle.com/hofmeester/

I just started with zazzle but I don't understand how it works. Have uploaded images but if I want to create a product how do I get it in my store? If I open ' create a product'  with an image I don't see a link to 'put in my store' or something..Are there tutorials for sellers how to start at zazzle?

Adobe Stock / Re: Fotolia cuts commissions again

Well let's try to give our worst to FT and not our best! I actually never liked FT although it is my third earner. They can't handle criticism and their search machine is very strange (to say it mildly). And they pay lousy (even more now!)

StockFresh / Re: Rejections in StockFresh
« on: January 10, 2011, 10:46 »
I experience weird rejections for images which are in my top ten earners at for instance Istock and shutterstock. It has to do mainly with isolations which are presumably not good in their opinion. Well their loss. I will not upload those there again and I wonder if uploading there makes any sense at all. Anyone selling there lately? I have had two sales there for 50cts each in total...

Lately I only sell (when I sell) small (under a euro) prices. It used to be 10 or 15 euro but I hardly sell there anymore nowadays

Alamy.com / Re: Sales at Alamy #2 Update from 2008 Thread

...On SS we all know, it's 25c...
No, it's $0.38, if you put in a small amount of work.  And they charge about the same as thinkstock and have to pay more reviewers.  I still think that if it wasn't for thinkstock, SS and others would of raised commissions by now, so we are probably losing more money because of them.  All people are doing by using them is showing that they don't mind how low a site sets commissions.  Don't you think the other sites will see that as an excuse to give us a worse deal in the future?
I agree 100%.  I also think that Thinkstock sells a lot of bad stuff too, hopefully they keep doing that....
On the subject of Alamy. I'm having a good month at Alamy sold 4 so far all $100 +.

Newbie Discussion / Re: Who has had sales at Graphic Leftovers?
« on: November 11, 2010, 04:35 »
I wanted to become a submitter and looked at the site but when I see what you can do with one photo I wondered if $5,- isn't cheap selling? This looks like an extended license elsewhere or am I wrong?

Shutterstock.com / Re: What's up with SS???????? rejections
« on: October 14, 2010, 02:57 »
Having problems with SS rejections also. I used to have quite a good acceptance at SS but now there are days when all my photos in my batches are rejected for reasons I don't understand. The reviewing also takes a lot longer than it used to take. Maybe the reviewers are too busy with the Istock runners and just reject everything they don't fancy in one glimpse?

New Sites - General / Re: The 3D Studio - anyway selling there?
« on: October 08, 2010, 09:40 »
I joined two weeks ago and have had two sales of 1.80 each and are seeing thousands of views on my 1000+ images. I wonder how that works? I have many more to upload but when I have uploaded my last batch I will wait untill I see some more action in buying. Anyone seen any sales there the last month?

iStockPhoto.com / Re: Is iStock getting pickier
« on: October 04, 2010, 08:37 »
Simple solution - stop uploading. I wish everyone would just stop uploading to Getty, especially the independents. You keep uploading and what sort of message does that send to Getty - that it's OK to rip-off their loyal contributors? Do you really want to see the other micros follow Getty's greedy example? Because that's where this is leading to we don't don't find an effective means of protesting the commission cut. Ten cents a download anyone?

I am more curious how many people have actually stopped uploading? I did the moment Istock came up with their new politics but whhen I look at portfolios of many concerned critics they still upload images to Istock....

I hope the Istockers will stop uploading there now, just for a while at least. I know I have. I would love to see Stockfresh get results but I would love it more when first I would get in.

Veer / Re: Introducing the new Veer
« on: July 16, 2010, 16:36 »
I just sold one of a dentist's chair. It must has been pure luck because the keyword dentist was not in the keywords. The six images i have now checked since a few days are all missing the essential keywords. Something is really wrong with the keywording! Please do something about it,,,,
Thanks,

Looks good but I also see that something strange has been going on with the keywords. I have an image (2052824) of two glasses of stout beer which has keywords like 'rice paddies' (probably something to do with Paddy's) but no 'glasses'. Another beer image has something similar with different strange words like  day and saints.  I have an image of a deckchair near a swimming pool. The word pool has vanished aswell as deckchair. Instead there are words like romance and emotions. And those are the ones I checked. I'm afraid of looking at the rest. What happened with the keywording? I would love to  be able to change the keywording but I would rather have it that my own keywording is applied as I entered it.

Another question is that I wonder what  makes the difference that some images have a price range of 1.50-11 and others are much higher in price. Some I made of the same object but they sell for twice the amount. Who decides the price range and is it something I could do to get them in a higher price range? Hope to hear from you and thanks.

Shutterstock.com / Long review times at SS at the moment?
« on: June 15, 2010, 01:49 »
Anyone else noticing that review takes longer than usual at SS? I have a batch waiting already for 4 days which is very long for SS. If not I have to contact them. Thanks

144
Thanks for all the great ideas. I haven't heard from them anymore so I guess it was a hoax. But I'm a lot wiser now if I would get a similar request for real .I still think that a print screen of my images is a good idea too.  Thanks again.

Yaymicro / Re: Who has had sales at YayMicro ?

24 sales in nearly 2 years. No more uploading for me....

Thank you all. Very helpful ideas. I haven't had a reaction yet since I asked for their website but I'll wait. I thought about making a print of the pages with the selected images on Adobe Bridge and sent that to them. Small images not worthwile copying but giving a good idea of what I have. Hope it works out. Thanks again.

Thanks for your concerned reaction. Yes, I mean enhanced license and I'm also a bit worried if this is a legitimite request. I am not sure. They do have an address with phone but no website is found yet. I have asked this today by email so I'll see what will be the reply. My other concern is if they are for real that I have no idea how to get all these images (a few hundred I have) available for them to see without giving them the possibility to copy them. If anyone ever had a similar request how did you handle this? It would be a great chance to sell quite a lot of my images but I have to be sure it's no scam.

Thanks

EDIT: I have only a small portion of my images of the subject they are looking for on Dreamstime. Although I don't see how It would breach my contract with Dreamstime. I'm not exclusive to them and can sell my images anywhere I please.

Dreamstime.com / Prices for extensive use on Dreamtime?
« on: May 19, 2010, 06:02 »
Hi, I have been asked to send an extensive amount of my pictures of a certain subject to a possible buyer. They want to buy them like Dreamstime is selling them but I can't find what their price is for extensive use.Shutterstock pays me 28 but what do they ask and what is the price Dreamstime asks? Does anyone know? I can't seem to find these prices. Hope someone can help.
Thanks,
Patricia

Adobe Stock / Re: Fotolia exclusives opted out of subs?
« on: April 22, 2010, 02:35 »
Interesting how Fotolia is performing for everyone differently. It used to be my number three after Istock, Shutterstock (not specifically in that order) but this month everything seems to stand on hold. Hardly any sales but they do accept almost anything from me suddenly as they didn't in the past.  I have about 1500 files but still only a few are selling all the time. I'm still very puzzeled by Fotolia.
