123RF / Re: New 123RF site design
« on: March 23, 2010, 06:12 »
Apart from the furiating download stats they seem to like rejecting a lot nowadays. From the 45 images I uploaded the last weeks, 38 were rejected for lighting issues. 80% of those had no problems at Istock.. The upside is that I sell  more than I used to. I guess I'll use my old images for that, as I will stop uploading for a while I guess.

Shutterstock.com / Re: Fast Fast Fast reviews?
« on: March 17, 2010, 02:53 »
It's much slower than I'm used to and worst is the rejection rate these days. Images which have been approved at istock now are rejected in whole batches for strange reasons.

Same here. Uploaded a bunch yesterday but nothing has shown yet.

Adobe Stock / Re: The Mysteries of Fotolia
« on: January 20, 2010, 04:07 »
Fotolia puzzles me enormously. I have been uploading there now for quite some time. I have a rank around 1000 and about 1350 images on line. Lately they hardly accept anything besides my photos with models. Anything else (accepted at the other big stocksites and doing well) is rejected for reasons I never grasp. I have about twenty images  which sell all the time but many others which are better and or newer never do. I've stopped uploading anything non model and I wonder if should not stop uploading altogether. Fotolia is my number three seller but on the brink of losing that position to my now number four.

Veer / Re: Veer, the new Crestock?
« on: October 16, 2009, 02:03 »
I've sold 17 so far and they are not running for such a long time so I'm not too disappointed. Considering the other 'new'comer Yay. I'm doing better at Veer with less images...

Of my twenty most popular images seven of them were uploaded more than 2 years ago as part of my first 50 images I think. They still are regularly downloaded.

Veer / How to change profile information
« on: September 05, 2009, 00:42 »
Hi, I want to delete my adress info on my profile page but on my profile page it says this information is required. I have tried it with making info like adress and telephone number private but nothing changes. It still is visible. I understand they need it but I don't want it on my profile page for everyone to see. Is there a way I can change this or is there a glitch?
I would like to ask this on their forum but somehow I can never find their forum.
Hope someone can help me. Thanks in advance
Patricia

Yaymicro / Re: Yaymicro Third Party Sales
« on: September 04, 2009, 01:12 »
How do you know which images have been selected? I have some in this third party batch too (as I was told in an email some months ago) but I can't find out which have been selected.  The normal sales are improving slowly but I haven't sold anything big as some people say when they sell with this third party.

Veer / Where are the keywords at Veer?
« on: August 31, 2009, 08:27 »
Sales reports are there but now the keywords are missing. None of my images has keywords. I know someone else has the same problem anyone else? If I'd have to choose I'd rather have keywords because it will be hard to get sales this way. Veer isn't rock steady. Or should I say stock ready?

Veer / Re: Veer Has Sales Charts/Reports Now as promised
« on: August 31, 2009, 05:23 »
I'm happy to be able to see that I have sold about 7 images but now all my keywords are missing. All my images have suddenly no keywords anymore so are not to be found, viewed and bought. Veer is not really rock steady.. Anyone else having this problem too?

iStockPhoto.com / Re: Considering Exclusivity
« on: June 29, 2009, 09:44 »
I see you have als artwork on your website. Isn't it true that you cannot sell this either once exclusive? I don't know how many sites you contribute to but maybe you can consider adding some other ones? There are now many more like Veer or Panthermedia http://www.panthermedia.net/?aff=125267
and I have no idea how Veer will work out but I am selling at Panthermedia (although not so much but sales do tend to be high and in euros).

« on: June 29, 2009, 08:23 »
Hi, I sometimes consider exlusivity at Istock as well (nowhere near you standard as I am a mere silver contributer) as Fotolia is really getting worse by the day and shutterstock is also not such a winner anymore but I am very afraid that I lose control over my own images. One exclusive I understand you are not allowed to sell or use your images by yourself (I don't mean via stock) Even images which has been rejected are no go. And all your eggs in one basket still seems to me is not very businesswise. But I hope some exlusive or ex exlusive will answer your question. That would really help.
Good luck with your decision.

Dreamstime.com / Re: No views, no sales
« on: June 16, 2009, 13:03 »
Thanks for the replies. Suddenly after this posting I got 3 views but that was it. I used to sell at least 4 or 5 a day but the last week was a very sad zero in total.
I'll just wait . I guess it is the algorithm then. Nothing to do about that. And @ Oboy: I added these links a long time ago and have no clue whatsoever how to change it...

Dreamstime.com / Re: No views, no sales
« on: June 16, 2009, 08:25 »
Well, the link works but my portfolio doesn't show. I don't know what you get when you try the link but I get my home page with info about the money I earned (not much this month) and the amount of uploads I have but no portfolio. That's strange.

Dreamstime.com / No views, no sales
« on: June 16, 2009, 07:55 »
I don't want to whine but I am truly very curious if most of you notice too that new uploads have no views and that sales are bad? Of my 26 latest uploads (since may 27th) I have had one view on one image. My sales have dropped seriously with 75%! If I am the only one then there is something suddenly wrong with my portfolio because it has been days since I've sold anything. I work with them now since late 2006 and have a bit more than 1000 images and this is totally new for me. Anyone care to elaborate? Thanks, Patricia

167
Yep, thanks for this info. I didn't see this but I'm glad that I know now. I guess I'm getting paid by 123rf then..
Thanks again,
Patricia

Hi, Anyone knows about Stocklib by Epictura? www.stocklib.com .They are a French company which is selling millions of images. I just discovered they are selling about 1327 of mine and I never gave them my consent and I dont think they payed me for any of these images. Are they connected to any of the major stocksites?
Thanks, Patricia

Shutterstock.com / Re: SS rejections explosion!!!
« on: December 22, 2008, 14:09 »
Well, Atilla is still there. Or all his clones anyway. The only thing you can do is stop uploading for a while  and then see if they change the mode... Almost all my batches have been rejected because of bad lighting. Bull.

« on: December 19, 2008, 08:28 »
Hi Keith,
I wanted to contact you via the site but the site will not open. It takes minutes and minutes and than still nothing. Early this morning I was able to log in but I couldn't send my images up for reviewing. Is there something wrong?

Zymmetrical.com / Re: First Sale Zymmetrical
« on: December 18, 2008, 09:06 »
@ Zymmettrical: After attempt three it worked but maybe you can tell me something about the reviewing system. I upload with ftp a bunch of about 25 images. But when I log in I can't find them. Is this normal? How will I know if they have arrived at zymmetrical and just are waiting for review or if they have never arrived at all? And I also didn't see any images in my queu. (when looking at statistics.)
Thanks in advance

StockXpert.com / Re: Opting in at Stockxpert?
« on: December 16, 2008, 12:18 »
It seems to me that to answer the question about whether to opt in or out of subs at StockXpert you need to know if the bonus of the high commission on the occasional photos.com/Jupitor sales offsets the low $0.30 subscription commission.

For me it is easy.  I still only get $0.25 per sub at SS so why would I not sell the same pictures at the StockXpert $0.30 sub rate and the possibility (haven't seen any yet) of a few very high commission sales to boost the average.  Currently about 80% of my earnings on StockXpert are from StockXpert PPDs and it is my best site (IS,SS,FT,BigStock,123 are the others) for average earnings per download.

For others you might look at it like this.  If you are selling subs at other sites at a higher rate than StockXpert, then figure what you would make on 1000 sub downloads and see what you need from StockXpert/photos.com/JI subs on StockXpert to get the same per image return.  For instance, if you are getting $0.38 per sub dl on SS then you need to make $80.00 in high commission photos.com/JI sales for ever 1000 downloads to get the same return from StockXpert as you get from SS.

SS      1000 dl @ $0.38 = $380
StockXpert    1000 dl @ $0.30 = $300
                 Difference   = $ 80
If StockXpert high commission sales are greater than the  $80.00  difference then opting in for subs allows a better return than the highest commission at SS. (Disregarding SS On Demand Sales.)

I'm just a newby in this business so maybe I am missing something but it seems clear to me that opting in for subs at StockXpert is nearly always the best course of action.

I think you're missing a point.
If the difference of $ 80 has to be "made up" by higher commision sales, that assumes that by offering your files at StockXpert for subscription will cannibalize ALL your subscription sales at SS.

So in your example it would mean:
Currently (opted out at StockXpert) you make 1000 x 0,38 $ at SS = 380 $.
If you opt in, you will make
(1000 - X) x 0,38 $ at SS (X determines the number of sales made on StockXpert instead of on SS)
+
(X + Y) x 0,30 $ at StockXpert (Y is the number of subs you get from StockXpert that are not made by customers switching from SS)

And you have to factor in the amount of "on demand" sales at StockXpert that might be replaced by subs (which is hard to know, especially in advance).

So you have to subtract Z (with Z < Y) x your RPD at StockXpert for on demand downloads.

So actually, trying to attack that problem with mathematics ends up in a number of variables you have no way of knowing... ::)

And that's what I'm afraid of.  Canabalizing from my other stocksites. Do any of you notice this or doesn't it seem a problem? Are you by any chance opted in. I guess not...
