Hi Dan,

What is your Can Stock Photo username?  The easiest way to find your images on Fotosearch is to do a search for "artist:USERNAME"

mtkang,

HERE is your portfolio on Fotosearch.

Or just do a search for "artist:mtkang".  Hope that helps!

Hi mtkang,

Off the top of my head I'm not exactly sure what the problem could be. We're not aware of any problems with our uploads at the moment.

If you would not mind, could you kindly send us the exact error that you get? Any information will help us track down your issue.

Thanks,

Duncan

CanStockPhoto.com / Re: My first FotoSearch Regular - $19.80
« on: June 15, 2010, 10:04 »
I wonder why the approval process takes so long at the moment, I have them pending for a week now

We've had a steady increase in submissions, which has been adding to our approval time. We're in the process of bringing on a number of new inspectors, so I'd expect approval times to be back to normal in a couple of weeks.  In the mean time keep submitting as usual and they will be processed as soon as we possibly can.

Thanks,
Duncan

madelaide,

They are instant (non-member) sales through Can Stock Photo. They pay you twice as much as a normal CanStockPhoto "member" sale.

CanStockPhoto.com / New Portfolio Management Pages
« on: April 25, 2010, 12:05 »
Hi Everyone,

For any CanStockPhoto photographers who haven't checked the site in the last week, we are pleased to announce that we've revamped all our portfolio management pages.

We listened to your feedback and made a number of upgrades. A few of them are outlined here:

- Better Tracking of Approved Files - You now have quick access to stats on your files, which you can sort and organize. The page is designed to allow you to quickly digest and skim through your portfolio.

- Edit Approved File Information - You can now submit changes for approved files, whether it be keywords, title, description, or category selections.

- Faster File Submission - Our "Unfinished Files" section has been refined to allow you to submit and edit more files and faster than before. You can quickly see which files need information filled out, and can quickly submit an entire page of files with just two clicks.

- Integrated Re-Submission - If one of your files is rejected for missing a model release or for bad keywords (i.e. something easily correctable), it will be returned to your Unfinished folder with a note attached, allowing you to quickly make the correction and re-submit.

- Fast - Everything has been designed to allow you to submit and manage your files faster and easier. If you already embed your file information, you can literally submit several thousand images in under a minute!

There are many other changes, but these are the most notable. Have a look and please let us know what you think! We're always very open to feedback, and are eager to hear any suggestions or ideas. With your help, we want to always have the fastest and most efficient submission system available anywhere.

Cheers,

Duncan

CanStockPhoto.com / Re: Uploaded files not appearing?
« on: April 16, 2010, 12:05 »
The files should always show up, although FTP'ed files may have a short delay.  If they don't show up, definitely open a support ticket and we'll look into it for you.

If you don't want the possibility of a short delay, you can upload using our Java, ActiveX, or HTML tools - all of which will have your files appear instantly.

Cheers,

Duncan

CanStockPhoto.com / Re: Problems with EPS files Canstock
« on: March 27, 2010, 16:52 »
Hello -

Can you please kindly email us one of your zip files at info@ canstockphoto.com? We'll test it out on our end to determine what the issue is.

If you are uploading using FTP, perhaps try uploading with our ActiveX/Java upload utility. Or in the mean time you could also upload the individual EPS files, without the zip file.

Thank you,

Duncan

Hi borg,

We send out payments twice a month - and based on when your request was submitted, you should receive your payment in tomorrow.  I hope that helps.

Leaf - I think by Key, he refers to an alpha-channel or mask embedded in the file that allows the background to be removed by the end-user.

I wish there was a way to embed/read keywords in video files!

dnavarrojr,

We're happy to accept that format. And for anyone else who is interested, we accept the following formats:

HDV, MPEG4, MPEG 2, DVCPRO HD, Photo JPEG, Motion JPEG, Apple JPEG-B, Quicktime Animation, PNG, DV, H.264

If you submit a file with a different type of codec, we will do our best to support it. Just let us know.

Duncan

90
Yes we will for sure have dedicated video searches, once a few more files come online to support the need. You should see this shortly.

They're visible on both CanStock and Fotosearch.  Just like JPG or vector images.

Seems to be working on my end. What happens when you click on it? Does it launch?

93
We havent finalized our list of approved codecs and file formats because we want to be accommodating to our contributors, and at the same time, to maintain a high-quality offering for our customers. Currently we are accepting .mov format, but we will be happy to consider any codec or file format that you have if your file wont upload, please open a support ticket and we will look into it.

dnavarrojr  - Sorry, we have corrected a glitch on your account that it wouldn't allow footage uploads.

94
There is a 1GB size limit, but that's it.  They can be any length, we just ask that you only upload .mov files for now.

CanStockPhoto.com / Can Stock Photo Now Accepts Footage
« on: May 05, 2009, 09:56 »
Hi Everyone,

We're extremely pleased to announce that we've begun accepting the submission of stock footage at Can Stock.  Now, all you videographers can submit your clips at Can Stock Photo and also have them added automatically to Fotosearch's diverse and ever-growing collection of over 80,000 clips.  The demand for stock footage is growing rapidly, and the Can Stock - Fotosearch partnership lets you submit once and start licensing your clips to thousands of stock footage buyers immediately.

Our innovative SpeedSubmit interface allows you to quickly attach releases to uploads and submit batches of video clips in significantly less time than at other microstock sites.  To make things even easier, you can simply upload a text file with footage metadata instead of having to manually enter it.  Upload via FTP and submit your clips the same way you do photos.  If you have limited bandwidth or a collection of large files, you can also send DVDs to us, and we'll load them for you.

Payouts for video licensed on Can Stock Photo are $5 for Low Resolution, $15 for Standard Definition, $20 for 720 HD, and $25 for 1080 HD.  Fotosearch sells enhanced licenses for footage with payouts of $9.80 for Low Resolution, $29.80 for Standard Definition, and $39.80 for HD.

If you're just starting out, grab your camcorder and start shooting.  If you already have a footage collection, now's the time to upload.  We'd love to help you make money with it.

Best Regards,

Duncan

Hi ChasingMoments,

The $19.80 was subsequently reversed as it was a fraudulent order.

While such situations are very infrequent, we have put a $20 courtesy credit on your account. We will work to make the refund process more clear.

We appreciate your contributions to our collection.

Sincerely,

Duncan

CanStockPhoto.com / Re: First sale on CanStockPhoto
« on: March 11, 2009, 14:00 »
Hey cdwheatley,

Regarding Fotosearch sales - it can take some time for your new uploads to migrate to Fotosearch from CanStockPhoto. So while your photos may be approved on X date, they may not appear on Fotosearch for up to a few weeks.

Also, Fotosearch is still in the testing phase and is not showing CanStockPhoto images to all customers. So depending on what group you are randomly put into when you visit their site, you may or may not see any CanStockPhoto photos at all. I think that should explain the confusion on your follow-up visit.

Hope that helps. You have some great images, I'm sure they will do quite well. I'm looking forward to seeing more of them.

Cheers,

Duncan

CanStockPhoto.com / Re: Model release
« on: March 10, 2009, 16:28 »
Xalanx,

You could always scan the pages into one file, but I agree we can condense it down a little. One page would be ideal.

But as goldenangel suggested - we also accept 3rd party releases, as long as they cover the same general terms. So if you have your own 1 page release, or one from another agency, you can use that as well.

Hope that helps!

We are indeed breaking away from categories - so you don't have to worry about them anymore. If you are using our new submission system, you are not asked to select any.

Also, we have corrected the other issues brought up earlier in this thread.

Hope that helps!

I applied to join in november, still nothing. I'm starting to feel hurt.  ::)

Hi Einochi,

Our photographer applications usually only take a few hours - so I checked your account and you were indeed accepted. So welcome :)
