123RF / Are 123RF Crooks
« on: April 19, 2022, 17:45 »
This is another site that is obviously going down the pan, there refunds are from years ago 2012/13/15/16, none of the other sites I'm on give anywhere near the amount of refunds these people do, every month refund after refund.

The only conclusion I can come to, is they are CROOKS.

« on: April 19, 2022, 17:40 »
Just had two sales for 1c each and another for 3c, do these people really think that I believe this is the correct commission rate, so called partner sales, more like lets sharft the contributor sales.

Just written them a email asking them to stop doing this.

My account is at $95.68 and the sales have slowed to a snails pace, the reality is they are in trouble financially otherwise I would have had a payout last year.

I'm still getting downloads in Russia, this needs to be stopped.

I had two in Moscow today, they are breaking the sanctions on Putins Russia, this must stop.

DepositPhotos / 2c Image Sale RSM Subscription
« on: March 01, 2022, 05:01 »
Checked my downloads this morning only to find a 2c sale, called a RSM Subscription.

I immediately contacted them by their 'Chat now' function and asked for my Portfolio to be removed from this subscription section, and was helpfully informed by someone called Irene that they would do this.

If it happens again, I will delete my entire Port, which is over 10 years work.

Selling for 2c, is beyond ridiculous, I'm on the verge of deleting this portfolio anyway as they made cuts last year from 31c to 27c.

10 years ago the the download commission was 30c, they are going backwards, not forwards, but as with all the sites that cut commissions, it's about larger shareholder dividends and lack of imagination on how to sell microstock.

Shutterstock.com / ShutterStock Forums no longer active
« on: October 25, 2021, 07:24 »
Just tried to go over to the Forum to see what was happening and it appears to have disappeared.

Is anyone else having this problem.

I was watching Noel Gallagher on a chat show recently and he was saying that back in the 90s when Oasis made it big, the record company worked for them, but now with the new bands and streaming services it is the other way around.

Really the whole gig economy that has arisen in the last 15 years has flipped work on its head, and the returns in the creative industries have been stolen by a small minority.

My question would be, when do you think the pendulum will swing back.

What could be the catalyst for this?

General Stock Discussion / European Union suing Apple
« on: May 03, 2021, 05:31 »
The European Commission said the tech giant was in breach of its rules by charging high commission fees in its App Store.

Could this be the thin end of the wedge, and help the Microstock creative sector fight back against the likes of Shutterstock and Getty.

Shutterstock.com / Will Getty buy Shutterstock?
« on: March 22, 2021, 07:00 »
This is really just a thought, all these moves by Oringer smack of cashing in, shareholders, commission cuts and really now he has shown his hand, I don't expect these commission cut to release as much cash as he wants.

So what are the alternatives for him?

Uber drivers are workers, UK supreme court rules

Will this affect the Stock industry?

Part of the ruling was drivers were considered to be employees because they didn't set the fairs.

This is exactly the same as in Microstock, except for a few I can think of, Pond 5, Envato and Creative Markets.

Maybe this ruling will have a impact on Shutterstock.

123RF / Is this the oldest refund ever
« on: February 16, 2021, 04:16 »
I have a refund for 32 cents which is dated 2017-09-18.

Simply unbelievable.

I have written to them to ask for this to be reversed.

Who the heck ask for a refund of 32 cents from over THREE YEARS AGO?

Just received a email titled:- Congrats, you climbed to a higher level as an image contributor!

I haven't uploaded since their criminal behaviour started.

It makes no difference in my earnings, I will, as soon as I can shut my Port down.

I saw this on the Shutterstock Forum:-

https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=863&v=18XDzw-xlCI&feature=emb_logo

How this guy can actually talk so much utter rubbish for 20 minutes is mind numbing.

He gives away his own thinking on the the contributors, by calling our images free content, this really shows his mindset.

Apart from this one mention the rest of the video is about him and him.

iStockPhoto.com / istock not allowing login
« on: May 11, 2020, 08:50 »
I have been trying to login to my account and I am being refused, including trying to reset the password by sending a email for a new one and having the same problem with DeepMeta.

Is anyone else having a problem with istock/Getty? :(

I upload to them years ago as they looked like a good site at the time, unfortunately they don't seem to have made it.

Not a good day, I thought they maybe able to give some of the larger sites a run for their money.

123RF / Is it the end of 123rf
« on: January 30, 2020, 07:12 »
Having contributed to 123RF for 10 years, they have consistently cut the commission rates, while at the same time proclaiming that sales will go up, this of course is absolute rubbish.

In the last couple of years my sales have been going one way and that is down, as well as getting 4 or 5 returns sales every month, no other site does this.

Have the buyers on this site been getting a rough deal as well and will we about to see the collapse of 123RF.

General Stock Discussion / Time to stop uploading to Getty
« on: April 21, 2019, 10:49 »
Just looked through my sales for last month and again down to under a quarter what they used to be a couple of years ago, commission rates are abysmal at 15 and 20%.

Essentially I believe it is time too stop paying Getty's loans and the wealthy shareholders with their dividend payments, who with their greed have moved into the MicroStock market.

Microstock was about a Stock imagery sites selling there contributor's photo's for a reasonable commission, it should be for both sides, a win, win, not as it is now, with Getty's turning it into a slave factory.

How long before Dreamstime is in the Middle Tier?

My sales on Dreamtime have steadily receded over the years, even though I regularly upload.

Are they worth keep uploading to with their crazy rejections, I often get images rejected that sell really well on other sites.

General Stock Discussion / New Year Predictions
« on: January 09, 2015, 11:57 »
My New Year predictions for the big four agencies are:-

All the big four agencies will increase there commission by a minimum of 15%.

Three of the top four agencies will overhaul there websites to include more data on who bought what and when, right down to the name and address of the buyer.

One of the agencies will give away shares in the company to there contributors.

Three of the top four agencies will Improve there algorithms so that the buyer finds what he wants on the first page.

Instant payments will be initiated so that all payments will be made within one hour of asking.

 ;)
