Thanks chromaco, it works. I still like symbiostock, my bitter words are just because I am disappointed that Leo withdrawn from the project.

Hi,
As far as I can see the symbiostock website is dead and the project is cancelled. I consider it disrespectful towards people who paid for the premium upgrade and/or the child theme and more importantly spent A LOT of time creating the site and supporting the project. Nevertheless, I would need a symbiostock theme with a premium upgrade (I paid for it) for a small project. Does anyone one where I can download it?
Thanks,

Well yes, Shutterstock was normal yesterday, what makes me worry since yesterday or so is Fotolia..

Hi,
I am experiencing slower sales across the board since yesterday, anyone else? (I have quite a big portfolio) I suspect there are some religious or national holidays worldwide?
Best, Michal

How is this different from lightroom?
Sure it is different. I have both and for keywording/captioning I use Stockuploader only. It is simple, convenient and I believe the most optimized for stock photographers' purposes.

May just giving 50% royalty share be called "contributor-friendly business approach" ? Having received a bot-like response to my e-mail shows they just don't care.

If you go to their photos department and sort all photos (7 million) by sales, the top selling file has 41 downloads. So I really dont think that at the moment photos is a strong subject for them.
http://www.pond5.com/photos/1/*.html#1/2176/
But they are a fair trade agency and their business is going up. I only have 127 images there, but already got a few sales.
So i think before you upload 4000 files, why dont you just upload 300 and see how it goes?
It would be wonderful if pond5 became a stronger photo agency. They do really well with video, so who knows.
I'd echo this sentiment. It probably won't be an instant financial success, but I think Pond5 seems like a good agency to build with for the future.
Yep... If only they were willing to take care of post-uploading tasks.... Now, as has been pointed out above, there is little sense in spending a few days getting pictures sent to the review.

Hi! I am on Pond5 through Yaymicro api program and I am considering uploading to Pond5 directly. They do not have "upload and forget" offer for contributors . I contacted them I received a bot-like response that I can send them pictures on a hard drive, but still would need to make thousands of clicks to get them sent. I consider their system quite laborious e.g. it does not read about half of the titles of my images and it seems that I would need to spend about 3-5 days getting it all sent to their curators. What are you experiences? Are they worth all this effort ? Thanks, Michal

The buyer is told 1$ - 1 photo, which is a typical pay-per-image deal. Why then Fotolia pays the subscription royalty?

I get 37% on Fotolia (emerald), so I guess I should be receiving $0.37 per download from this DPC deal, is that right ? If that's the case I have yet to see a download from DPC on my Fotolia account.

A big banner on the main Fotolia site of the Polish version as well.
really? If I look at pl.fotolia.com I can't see a banner for the DollarPhotoClub
Well... I am based in Poland and see the big banner both on the main page and the contributor page.

I have not seen a negative impact in sales. My sales have been climbing since the last 2 months and I have not uploaded to many new images. So it might be that this $club is a good thing and give more new sales? As long as sales are okey I don't see any problem with a new approach.
So do I! I just hope not too many buyers will migrate from Fotolia to this club.

My earnings are up as well. Nevertheless I'm still concerned about the number of images approved every week for the very reason EmberMike said that these tons of lower standard images/vectors may make it harder for buyers to find the good ones.

199 Euro seems to be a bit exaggerated. I understand there is a lot of a valuable material, but come on, wouldn't 50 Euro be enough ?
this is hilarious, now that I read it again
199 Eur is a bit exaggerated = valuable material = 50 Eur is enough
next time you have a client make sure you make him a 75% discount
microstock prices are already 75% discounted

Ron is right, they should edit their videos, who is going to watch those 23 hours ? Not to mention most of it seems to be recorded from two places in a conference hall - a camera on a tripod recording non stop (moments of boring technical breaks like speakers changing are not cut-out as it may be seen on the free 5 minutes video they provide) If they made an interesting two hours video out of it, it would be awesome.

It's all about volume. I thought if it was cheaper, more photographers/illustrators would afford it, which would possibly result in higher profit for the hosts of Expo. That being said, I CAN afford it, however I don't always come across 200 Euro for some videos (with all due respect to its value), hence my consternation.

Ron, I'll consider it a compliment for me . Has any of you bought the full access? Do Shutterstock and other big players say something new, revealing and helpful ?

Well the 2 dollar sales (the amount I receive) are extremely rare, about 5% of my sales. This is for small size. I avarage $5 per sale. This is not what I would like to get for an EL, that's true, but at least it's not for the full resolution.

It's a pain seeing my photos on this scam website called sh*tshop. I hope they will be gone asap.

With all due (dis)respect for DP, I think that the shotshop guys are in fault to the same extent! They were perfectly aware what was going on, plus they took advantage of this sick situation by pretending to be a selective top-notch agency at the same time receiving content from DP which was waaaay cheaper for them to pay royalties to photographers. They deserve to be pushed in the black abyss of the microstock world and never be let in again.

Requested to remove my port from the shotshop scam too. This is outrageous, shotshop are guilty as well, maybe even more than deposit.
