I'm wondering how one knows when an image is sold. Some agencies send an email when that happens but most I use dont. So besides logging in constantly to see if something happened, what else can we do? It would be really cool to have an app on my mobile phone to keep track of that but its just wishful thinking. :)

Thanks for the headsup.
Kindly email your UID and image code to [email protected] so that we can check it for you.

... and this is something I think is great on 123RF. Doesn't make me feel like a number, like most other microstock agencies do.

and all of my best sellers on DT, Shutterstock, etc. were rejected for low commercial value.

Different reason but same ending then. For me it was nice to see images no one else wanted being approved, at least this way I have a change to try them out but it was frustrating to see most of my best sellers being refused. It doesn't make much sense. Well but that's (microstock)  life, I guess. Let's see how it turns out regarding earnings.

123RF / New to 123RF. Initial thoughts.

Just applied to 123RF the other day and started uploading the portfolio I have on other agencies. Three things that got my attention:

- Image review was almost immediate!! I couldnt believe my eyes when I saw that as my ftp transfer ended, almost half of my images where approved (50) and the other where pending. Then I hit F5 and more images where approved. How do they do that??

- Most images I sold on other agencies where rejected with Poor light / composition

- Most of the images rejected on other agencies where approved.

Does anyone else have a similar experience?

Pretty good port I'd say. Your keywords aren't the best though, you have a photo of two boats and there is no keyword "boats" and a photo of a surfboard and no keyword "surfboard". Also you've spelt "holiday", hollyday in one of them. You could do with a few more keywords for some of them.

Thanks very much for taking the time to review my portfolio and for pointing out those mistakes. :)

if I upgrade to another body with a motor in the future, will I still be able to use those AF-S lenses with motors?

Yes. But if it is (likely) a DX crop lens, you will be limited on a full frame sensor body like the 12MP D3. It will still work, but it will go into an automatic crop mode of about 6MP I think. Don't have any DX lenses anymore so can't give you the exact here.

It depends. If its an AF-S Full Frame lens, like the Nikon AF-S Nikkor 50mm 1.4G, you can use it both on DX and on APS-C (Full Frame) bodies. If its an AF-S DX lens, it will happen what stormchaser said.

Photo Critique / New to Microstock. Care to critique me?

Hi all!

I'm new to the microstock world. I'm just around for 2 months, although I'm shooting for some years now. In these 2 months I tried to shoot a lot thinking microstock and was able to sell 12 images in DT and 3 in FT. I know this is kind of a slow start so I was wondering if anyone was kind enough to take the time and critique my portfolio. Were should I improve?

Here's the link to my portfolio in DT: http://www.dreamstime.com/Vertigopt_info

Thanks! Help is much appreciated.
