They seem to be targetting single people images none of my group people images. All one model at a time. I have told SS so will prob get a response tomorrow.

I have like 1100 images on SS. Again today they have downloaded another like 25 images. I'm just concerned about two things

1. What SS thinks, i don't want them to think I am doing something dodgy which I'm not.

2. What exactly are they going to do with all of these images? My port isn't that varied its just people on white.

Boring and unimaginative. However, stock is just a hobby for me.

Someone or multiple people have been downloading my images like 25 per day!
The strange thing is it seems to be one person i think as they are mass downloading one particular model!

I normally sell like 6 images per day on ss and now its like 30.

Should i be concerned or report it to ss as possible problem?

Dreamstime.com / Re: Yuri still on Dreamstime?
« on: October 28, 2013, 17:20 »
So. Yuri had this to say on his blog in July -

"...Posted by Yuri Arcurs on July 25, 2013

You might have noticed huge amounts of images being removed from micro subscription sites such as Shutterstock.com, Fotolia.com, Dreamstime.com etc."

All of his images are still on Dreamstime and one is even featured in the October newsletter.

I know that this has been discussed ad finitum but I thought they might be removed by now.  Whassup?

Last time Yuri was in the forum I asked him why his images were still on dreamstime. He said he didn't know.

I use after effects, but it has a learning curve.

I havent had a sale on canstock in a while

Doesn't sound like an interesting proposition to me. Just a way of lowering the retail price of the clip

I got this info from someone who works for a web design company. So it should be good. The first backup is quite big, but after that it gets easier.

And here it is again, with Bad Behavior plugin turned back on :D

Symbiostock Site Under xmlrpc attack with "Bad Behavior Plugin" Installed

Notice how much the system resources were freed up. These attacks are pretty horrific! The spammers are still trying, but now getting a 403 and wasting their resources.

Leo,

Should we install bad behaviour?
I remember you saying it has special settings, any chance of giving some guidance on the settings at all please

Thanks
Mark

I think u just need ,,$

19
An another note it might not be the idea that Symbiostock could "compete" with them as much as people might just lose interest in agents altogether.

Whats scarier? Having competition, or no longer being taken seriously? So on that level I can see the concern. "You mean, I don't need to use an agent? Why didn't anyone tell me this?!"

I think you have hit the nail on the head. Ive stopped uploading to all agencies as a result of symbiostock

20
Symbiostock could potentially be a big threat. Recently i have had big problems with one of my agencies. They wont give me my cash balance! They know i want to quit to take up symbiostock. The minute im over their pay out threshold im quitting them. However, by not telling me the balance I dont know if im over threshold

I can't answer what it's for, but (a) a cache is usually something created on the fly if it isn't there, and is thus by its nature only temporary stuff and (b) the above thread says you can exclude it from backups :)

I know, just curious as to what it is

Could someone tell me what this Symbiostock_XML_Cache is at all please? Is it needed for the site to function as I'm not including it in backups, but its a large folder.

No, it's not enough.
You should check "Any other directories ..." and then include the symbiostock_rf, symbiostock_ipn and symbiostock_network folders.
Thanks

You're welcome. Give it a try and let us know if it works because I'm a little sceptical that Updraft will be able to handle a 10 to 12GB backup (like in your specific case).

Actually, today i completed my SEO, and also contact a web design company to show me how to back it up properly. I just have a very uncomfortable feeling usibg these back up programs.
