Hi
I have been giving this back up a lot of thought and my concern was what happens if whilst downloading site, the database changes? I saw this plugin "code freeze" would this be suitable to freeze the site to allow you to back it up properly.
Kind regards Mark

Just wanted to check I'm settting up updraftplus correctly. Tick plugins, uploads, any other directoies in wpcontent, themes, core boxes including core and exclude "symbiostock_XML_Cache" is that correct?

Looking at my cpanel, i seem to have two sets of folders the same, in public html the same folders exist that also exist in the www folder. Do you need both ? Is there a reason for this?

It backs up your site but not the database. If you have access to your cpanel, you can go to your database and export for a backup. Check on your hosts website, they will probably tell you how to do it.
Thanks, Its a good job im on unlimited, the whole public html folder is 25.8gb I can go back further in the directory tree and back up more should I? If I back up the whole tree from :/ will it include the databases?

Hi
Can someone help me with the ftp backup. I have copied the whole of "public_html" directory. Does this literally back up the whole site? Does it back up the data tables?

I took out a vaultpress subscription, as it sounded great. However, I need to warn any other symbiostock member that they don't back up the root directory and this is particulary an issue for the Symbiostock_rf directory. This contains all of your high res images. The only way I can see around the problem is to create a folder in your wp content/uploads folder, and then copy your files across.
If u lose files from this directory you will need to reupload, and keyword them.
This means that if you add an image, you also need to manually copy it across.
Do other backup solutions offer root back up?

I have been using adobe camera raw in photoshop to process my raw images for a while. However, i know a lot of people use lightroom. What are the main differences?

I think this thread should be a sticky.

112% acceptance here.
Duplicates ?
I think the 12% is exclusive content

Probably about the same as yours Ron. Why bother to pay for hosting to fill it with rubbish.

Using ImageMagick (exec enabled)
Web Host: GoDaddy
Its unknown if I'm going to make this a premium feature or base...but for now I want to get an idea of who has access to the terminal through php.
I would humbly suggest that this be added to the base code (and not a paid premium feature), since this seems to be one of the biggest issues for new Symbiostockers. I don't have the issue, so it won't affect me either way, but IMO it would cut down on the frustration from new users.
Imagmajick is fundamental to running a site so it should be a base feature and not a luxury.

When i added the html code to description box so it would display a video, it locked that particular page the same way that Christine is describing. Dont know if that helps

Hi
I know Leo released the cart manager free, but wondered if anyone could shine light on this error:
"Warning: unserialize() expects parameter 1 to be string, array given in /home2/picturz4/public_html/wp-content/plugins/ss-cart-manager/functions.php on line 246"
Im on version 2.6.0 and using leo's premium plugin.
Thanks Mark
This is fixed. It will be included in the premium version as an auto-install and upgradeable if you happen to have the free version.
Thanks, i will update once ive backed up my site

How much should we charge for enhanced/extended license? Leo's plugin gives us price slots for all of the sizes.
How much would you charge for a small up to large?
Kind regards Mark

I'll probably buy the premium upgrade sometime but I'm a bit concerned that you were talking about giving this away for free and now the site states the old price was $125. As its only just out, when was it being sold for $125? Do you really need to make it look like this is $50 off?
I don't have a problem paying $75 for all your hard work but I don't think the old price $125 is going to entice me, it has the opposite effect.
75$ till september 15th. However in this thread Leo does offer it for free according to a referall program. http://www.microstockgroup.com/symbiostock-development-area/symbiostock-premium-previews/

I have already gone into this with some depth.
To host the video, according to blue host tech you would need a VPS either the cheapest or 2nd cheapest. I have spoken to Leo about getting it coded and he said it is possible. Also spoken to AJT and Cascoly about how it might affect the search engine. Apparently it is tagable in the search.
Depends who is willing to take the plunge first. I guess for a first we need it coded. I would be happy to support the development of symbiostock video.

Are you tired of reading all these threads about the latest problems with istock? I can understand exclusives sticking ovwith them but isn't it time non-exclusives did something? I know lots of people have already left or removed images but it seems like there's lots that spend time whinging about them while doing noting about it. We did do something positive with D-Day and that was a success for me. I removed my 500 best images and have no regrets. Perhaps the best thing to do is to inform any buyers you know that istock pay non-exclusives 15 to 19% commission. The few I've spoken to are shocked by how little we get paid. Now that prices have been slashed for non-exclusives and I'll be getting another commission cut at the end of the year, I'll start removing more images.
I have already removed all images from istock

Does anyone have any experience with VideoBlocks.com. They have large number of videos but I can't find info about their pricing system and commision. All I know they are sub site.
Yes, if I remember correctly it was set up by a student who left high school. Looking at what they charge, for the sub package the commissions arn't going to be good.
