Changed the permissions of the WP-content folder to 777 and still getting same error. Updates of Wordpress not allowed or updates of plugins, uploader still not working.
Can anyone suggest anything else?

When I select File manager in Cpanel I get a menu to choose directorys:
I chose the webroot directory and then the permissions for wp-content was 0755.
Do you want me to change to it to 777 or 0777 ?
Most of them are 0755 or 0644

I haven't been able to use the uploader for a few days.
I can't seem to update wordpress or any of the plugins installed. Neither can I install any plugins?
Can anyone help?

I used another site map generator at first. I deleted the site map from the google tools and then used Leo's to create a new map to put in its place

I used to use Yuri's tool, once he pulled his port from shutterstock that went down hill so now I use shutterstocks tool.

These are my ideas on how to promote our own sites. However, feel free to comment on my ideas or other ideas:
Write blogs on separate sites and point them towards our own site
Set up a flickr account and point towards our site. Not sure how possible that one is as what content would I upload to flickr. Do they allow watermarked images?
Use photos to create a video slide show with watermark and upload to you tube which then points towards our site.
Craigslist/gumtree ad/friday ad
Any other ideas?
My site is near completion so I'm now thinking of marketing.

One more thing a proper mobile site. I read an article where sites that don't support mobile will be deranked by google. Therefore a mobile plugin would be useful

Can we have a plugin to increase the number of images per page to 100 please?
Also a way of ranking the files so we can send our best sellers to the top of the search rank on our sites. Maybe a tick box to always promote these within the categories or something.
At the moment if you upload your best sellers first they get sent to the bottom of the search rank.

Lower the opacity of the clone brush on photoshop try 85% or less to blend it in. I found it helpful when I started to get photoshop training.

Thanks for the replies and offers of help. I've managed to get to a point where I can upload images. I'm still lost on network connections and how to implement child theme but at leadt I'm further forward than I was yesterday. Although I can use a pc my pc skills are not that great.
