CanStockPhoto.com / Re: IPTC data reading error
« on: May 19, 2015, 14:44 »
Well, I sent a message to support about that 3 months ago! No response. I have this problem with ZIP (EPS/JPG) going through FTP. When I go through the website, I have no problem.

I'm unable to upload there off and on since Sunday. My FTP has been saying Disk Full-Upload Later

I was impressed with this presentation from iStock for us. Although they ignore illustrations, it's still useful. https://www.brighttalk.com/community/customer-experience/webcast/10189/150537?utm_medium=web&utm_source=brighttalk-portal&utm_campaign=community-live-recorded

Newbie Discussion / Re: Tagging - does order matter?
« on: May 04, 2015, 14:51 »
I tend to reorder things only for iStock through Deepmeta (occasionally)

Hello,

I am a newbie to the group so sorry if I ask the oldest question but does the order in which you put your tags matter for the search engines?

Thank you.

We only need to assign one category. That's a good thing.  8)

Sounds great. I hope for the best. ;D

Hey guys,

I'm going to be your Symbiostock liaison from now on so don't hesitate to throw me questions if you have any. We'll be updating you as releases are made but I wanted to let you all know that me and Leo are extremely excited about some of the things we are doing with Symbiostock.

We're hoping that with your continued support and involvement, we will be able to not only enhance Symbiostock's current offering, but really expand its reach so that you can even use the system to generate sales and find customers at a level that competes with large microstock companies.

I have been a contributor for a long time, but am still somewhat new to the Symbiostock community so I'll be relying on you guys for a little guidance at times. I will keep you updated on release dates as we near launch, and again, throw me any questions you have and I'll do my best to answer them.

All the best,
Robin.

PhotoDune / Re: 10% approval rate
« on: April 29, 2015, 11:53 »
Not surprised with PhotoDune. Submitting there, especially as a cartoonist (Graphic River or ENvato(?), was an absolute waste of time. Ridiculous submission process and outrageous rejections.

I just roughly checked my last 1400 photos and Photodune have accepted about 140. I have an acceptance rate of 10% on PD.  :o

Bigstock is 96%
CanStockPhoto is 94%
123RF is 95%
Shutterstock 90%
Fotolia was 60%
Alamy was 100%
Deposit was 95%

I have to say the their payout scheme really has me p#@#$!ed off. They get to owe us money and we won't have any clue unless we harass them about it.

Photo Critique / Re: Please critque my pictures - thank you
« on: April 22, 2015, 15:17 »
Fast, probably notunless you have 30,000 people shots with signed model releases (or illustrations with reference images). It will take many years of sacrifice and starvation. But if you stay focused, it can happen.

Sorry, I cant take a risk on downloading a zip of files.

Hello!

I want to start stock photography, because I became unemployed and I need to make a living fast.

But first I need to know, if my pictures contain at least 10 that worth a try. I would like to join Shutterstock.

If you have the time, could you please mark the pictures that are good for submission, or if not, what are the errors.

Thank you very much.

P.S. Pictures are in a zip file. I wont post the pictures to shutterstock with the copyright mark.

Now there is an idea why not send requests to Jon Oringer's twitter account requesting a raise?

If enough people do that maybe he'll get off his plinth long enough to do it :D

Not aggressive but just point it out to him ~ a little naming and shaming (its fashionable  8) )

Just make sure you keep anonymous. Those with power tend to abuse it when exposed to their failures by those who work for them.  8)

Time to increase our pay, Mr. Oringer.

LMAO as if he comes here to read this. maybe you go tweet his own site he might read it
really, i don`t expect any raise any more than you get a raise watching porn  :D
i would say at least let the total monthly earning be increased across the board
with SOD of those $28 to $120 per single earning
so we still end up making better than having 1000 dls of 30 cts per month.
as someone alteady started a new thread, even that new good thing seem to have disappeared lately...

Truthfully, I don't watch porn nor do I expect the lords of microstock to care about those of us who bring them wealth. I only hope to inspire my fellow artists to never be satisfied until we all can make an equal profit from our work. Addressing him was symbolic as his name is now symbolic with the most wealthy in our industry. Peace.

I'm glad you got paid. I haven't been paid yet and was owed over $200.00+. Now my balance reads $7.00!!!! Yeah, same here: No response to my inquiries.

Same here - contacted IS 10 days ago who a few days later told me to contact Getty - not a word back - the customer service issues are appalling - have no idea what is going on, can get no one to respond other than to pass the buck and meanwhile over a $100 missing from my account for a month. I think its time to pull images from IS - too much hassle for too little return.

Disgusting company. I won't pull my images out, but resentment is growing. I'm sure their salaried managers are getting paid weekly. But they can sit on our money for months.

Adobe Stock / Re: Adobe changes at Fotolia
« on: March 31, 2015, 15:13 »
There is an Adobe logo on the web site.  I feel much better seeing it.  So that is an benefit.

The Adobe logo means we're going to start to need to pay Fodobe $20/month to submit our work. But that includes immediate upgrades for review times.

GraphicRiver / Re: Uploading vectors to GraphicRiver
« on: March 31, 2015, 15:11 »
Do I really have to jump through these hoops to submit an EPS vector image https://help.market.envato.com/hc/en-us/articles/203269650-A-step-by-step-guide-to-the-upload-process

This is what  am designing, its not rocket science

That site's process is ridiculous. Then after you spend an hour submitting, you get all rejections. Don't waste your time.  :(

This discussion is truly insightful. As an American, I'm very glad to have a worldwide perspective on this forum. Good question!  8)

SInce a long time, impossible to upload files on Canstockphoto...
My zip files are imported from Ftp but metadata in my jpeg files are no longer recognized...
It worked all well before in this way
Anyone having these troubles ?

Same FTP problem for my EPS/JPG inside ZIP for about a month. I opened a support ticket and have not received a response. So I upload directly through the website now. No problems with that method. Sales are steady for me.

196
Sometimes they take a while to show up - has the count of online files increased?

You I could very well be seeing things. It's been a rough week of various work projects. So you might be right. Since no one else has confirmed it, it's probably me.  ???

197
This is simply frustrating to watch.

Well stated. Could be nauseating too.

198
Pisses me off to watch that video. They need to share the wealth a little more with us. Let's all send messages to support to protest the unfair wages.  >:( Better yet, all those contributors that live in NYC can do a picket linemaybe not so easy since they pay us so little.

I can't help but think about this forum post: http://www.microstockgroup.com/shutterstock-com/i-think-we-need-a-well-deserved-raise-this-year/msg409569/?topicseen#new

Last night I must have had almost 50 drawings in Pending. Today, they were gone. No rejection or selection email notifications. None are in Refused or Online. Has anyone had this problem recently?

Alamy.com / Re: Alamy - is it worth the time and trouble?
« on: February 26, 2015, 20:01 »
I say yes, but only if you don't manually add those extra keywords (a real pain). I'm an illustrator. They force you to choose manual keywords, so I choose "illustration." I have been making a $100 every couple months with 3,000+ images.
