CanStockPhoto.com / Preview Image Colors WAY Off
« on: May 17, 2017, 13:07 »
Anyone else having trouble with the preview images for their most recently accepted images? I'm a vector contributor at CanStock and the most recent batch of my images have preview colors that look fluorescent. This never happened with my older images there.

Also, review/approval time there is really slow lately. It's taking over a month for images to be reviewed.

Adobe Stock / Re: EPS vector uploads temporarily disabled

My question is, if we upload .ai files instead of .eps files, do you convert them to .eps at your end? Or do they remain .ai files on the site?

Adobe Stock / Re: Fotolia Ranking Significance
« on: April 24, 2017, 13:28 »
The thing I've noticed that seems to greatly increase exposure on Fotolia is the ratio of views to sales. So, if a photo or illustration has 50 views and one sale, it doesn't show up very early in the searches for it. However, if you're lucky enough to have an item that has only 1 or 2 views and has an immediate sale, that image will skyrocket up in the search engine.

I always ignore the option to create folders of my stuff on Fotolia, but I am just wondering if there's some sort of benefit to having your images categorized that way.

Does anyone know if it affects the way customers view those images? Do they get some sort of notification that the image is part of a series when they view it?

Thanks!

Shutterstock.com / Re: Question about SS tier levels
« on: February 27, 2016, 10:35 »
The way I keep myself from thinking about individual sales is that when I upload a stock image I don't consider the value of it for an individual sale but rather the lifetime potential for that image to make money. So I pay more attention to the fact that over the course of 5-10 years that image may make hundreds or thousands of dollars across multiple sites for as long as it is online. Otherwise, I would drive myself crazy thinking about low individual sales. Stock is a game for the tortoise, not the hare.

CanStockPhoto.com / Re: Canstockphoto - is it worth it?
« on: February 27, 2016, 10:28 »
I have a relatively small portfolio of all vector work, 143 images, and I regularly get sales there in their "instant" category that range from $1.00 to $5.00. I think it's probably the most successful middle tier site for me.

Envato / Re: On the Naughty Step

I'm having the same issue at their GraphicRiver site with my vectors. I actually have decent sales there with what they have accepted but about 6 months ago they started rejecting 90% of what I submitted. My work didn't suddenly take a quality dive, they're rejecting stuff that is equal to or sometimes better than the things they've accepted in the past. It makes no sense.

Their process for uploading vectors is too complex anyway. I wind up having to save 2 extra formats per image just for them in order to upload. I think I'm done after my next payout.

Envato / Re: Graphic River Suddenly Rejecting Everything
« on: December 29, 2015, 12:22 »
Months later and they're still rejecting 95% of what I submit. The other 6 sites I contribute to have happily accepted my work with a 100% acceptance rate. This, along with their ridiculously complex upload system, makes me think they're just not worth it anymore. I will probably be pulling my portfolio. I know this does no real damage to them, I just think I'll be happier streamlining my stock work flow.

General - Top Sites / Top 4 Sites for Vector Contributors?
« on: November 06, 2015, 15:01 »
I'm on iStock, Shutterstock and Fotolia. I don't want to branch out too much further but was wondering where other vector only contributors have the best success. Would like to maybe upload to 1 or 2 more sites.

Thanks!

Envato / Graphic River Suddenly Rejecting Everything
« on: May 16, 2015, 11:27 »
I've had a pretty good acceptance rate at Graphic River in the past, though they've always been a bit more picky than other sites. However, the last 7-8 images I've uploaded have been rejected for "not meeting their standards". The rejected images are pretty much to the same standard as everything else they've accepted in the past, which is puzzling.

Anyone else having this problem? Here's my portfolio there: http://graphicriver.net/user/pvg

In the past it was necessary to upload an entire separate jpeg file of a vector image to Shutterstock after the vector was accepted. Now I've noticed that my newer uploads are including the jpeg automatically. However, the jpeg is only a high-res version and is not offered in multiple sizes. The older jpegs I had uploaded separately are offered in small, medium and large sizes.

I was just wondering how other contributors are handling jpegs of their vector files on SS?

Thank you! That's very helpful.  :)

Does anyone have a complete list of the partner sites where DepositPhotos is selling our images? I'd like to compose a email asking to delete my portfolio and would like to name specific sites in the letter that I also want the images removed from.

Thanks!

Thanks for all the input! I hadn't thought about the "Keep Calm and..." posters. That's probably a big part of it.

Turns out that crowns file is a best seller for me across all of the sites that I submit to. Past 500 downloads on Shutterstock after a little more than a year!

Now if only I could think of a few more images that would perform that well...  :)

I have pretty healthy sales on Shutterstock overall, but I have one file that I sell the bejeezus out of. I usually sell it on a daily basis, sometimes 2 or 3 times daily. It's this one:

Not that I'm complaining, I'm just wondering what might have shot this file to the top of the charts. Does anyone else have one file in their portfolio that does significantly better than all of their others?
