123RF / Re: hi what is 123RF API Sites partenaires on this site
« on: December 05, 2022, 21:39 »
Yes, we distribute content via our API to certain partners and resellers.
They license content for their community and the API is like through webapps, mobile apps, and other desktop applications.

If you like to maximize your distribution, we recommend that you leave this option on.

Hi everyone,

Apologies if you found that we were unresponsive at times. Our team is very busy with your requests. We are working with our developers to give better and more timely support.

We recently deployed an update where by all new uploads won't be tagged with the PLUS tab anymore. We hope this gives you assurance that your newer content isn't automatically opted into the PLUS program.

Please note that only content that meet certain criteria will be opted into PLUS. And our intentions for PLUS is clear : to give your content more opportunity of getting monetized. What we've done is for the sake of convenience and expediency, contributors with large portfolios would not want to opt in or out files on a piecemeal basis.

We are working on a better user experience for you, do look out for these enhancements which are being deployed soon.

Thanking you always for your continued support and trust.

123RF / Re: 123rf sharing commissions with parent company Inmagine
« on: December 07, 2014, 20:45 »
Hi everyone,

With regards to:
1. Not accepted at Inmagine IRIS if you are a contributor 123RF - it simply means that Inmagine's IRIS does not accept microstock images under a premium pricing. If you produce 2 levels of content, you are welcome to send in your micro priced content to 123RF and sell your higher priced images under Inmagine's IRIS.
2. More transparency and better reporting - our IT team is trying their best to update the contributor's section of the site. It's been a challenge and they will come around to it.
3. We've fixed the Reseller API so that if you've opted out, it will no longer show in any of our API Partner's results. Certain results have been cached by various CDNs so you might still see results especially if you keep on revisiting the results pages.
4. Our aim is to increase sales for everyone, certain partners have different working models and we have to adapt to their business models - if you have opted out, you won't be included in the program.

I hope this addresses some of your concerns. Do write in or email us if you need more information.

Thanks,

Alex.

Hi Everyone,

We understand your concern and I am glad to report that in the next few days, we will no longer feature your portfolio at any API Partner Reseller site, if you have opted out from the Partner Reseller program.

Thank you,

Alex.

Hi everyone,

I've been following the thread and I hope I would be given the opportunity to jump in and clarify a few matters.

Yes, you're right to view Inmagine as a sister or parent company, whose main product are PREMIUM RM and RF images and have the same shareholders. However, that's where the similarities end -  Inmagine and 123RF do not share manpower, infrastructure, sales or marketing budgets, marketing activities, strategies etc.

Being experienced contributors, you would understand that every business is carried out differently - Inmagine's target audience are customers of a different segment with different needs. With 123RF, we're largely a self-serve, pay before you consume, volume based sales approach. While Inmagine has longer sales cycles, heavily reliant on relationship based sales, requires a lot of extensive image research, travelling and pitching before a client finally gets on board and the customer care that entails after the sale is very protracted, a lot of manual invoicing, mailing and follow up is required even if only a single image was sold.  A majority of Inmagine's customers demand credit terms ranging anywhere from 2 weeks to 3 months. This is because, Inmagine's own customers (the agencies themselves) have to be paid beforehand. Once they're paid then only Inmagine gets paid.

However, the 123RF Partner Reseller API (the bridge between 123RF and Inmagine) immediately registers a sale whenever Inmagine records an image purchase. 123RF is then committed to pay the commissions to you regardless of the ability of Inmagine to collect payment with credit terms mentioned above.

The image that I'm trying to paint here is:
1. Inmagine's cost of sales is very much different from 123RF's. It's a lot more involved - client visits and servicing are imperative to the business.
2. Inmagine's undertaking of RISK is also very much higher because there is a significant chance that clients might default or even go bust before payments are collected. This is a very real risk during bad economic downturns when a large number of agencies stopped operating.
3. 123RF has to pay commissions upon record of sale and charge Inmagine immediately, but Inmagine has to take a long time to recover the sales as Imagine have to abide by the credit terms given.
4. Inmagine and 123RF are incorporated in different parts of the world, we cannot "merge" the accounting systems between the 2 companies as easily as some might think.

With the 4 points above, I hope you can somewhat relate that we are unable treat the businesses as a single entity. Inmagine has to retain that margin because of a larger cost of sale required to sustain its business. Please also note that we feel that Inmagine should retain itself as an API Partner Reseller because we believe that every sale we can fight for our contributors and keep it within the community would be beneficial and count towards your earnings.

Thanks for lending us your ears.

Alex

« on: August 21, 2014, 07:41 »
Hi everyone,

If you've been overpaid this time, the amount of overpayment will be deducted in your next month, so everything will be nice and balanced. And if underpaid, you'll receive the underpayment amount in the next month.

Our IT and Finance teams are working hard to ensure that this doesn't happen next month, and yes, we are still logging your earnings and downloads nicely - it's just that when we run the bulk earnings report, things get a little funky.

In any case, we'll sort this out soon.

Thanks for your understanding and apologies for any trouble this has caused you.

Alex.

Hi guys,

We have been approached by Payoneer to link up with them.

So if we did this, is anyone:
1. Interested?
2. Already with them?
3. Is beneficial if we had them as a payment option to you?

Thoughts?

123RF / Re: December payment?
« on: December 20, 2013, 01:52 »
Hi Everyone,

Our Finance Department has just confirmed that we've made payment to everyone. We do apologize for missing this out in the first place.

@Ron:
*Why did you make a change to the payment date, pushed back by 2 days without informing us?
We did not change the payment date. We always try our best to pay right in the middle of the new month. For those who received payment on time, they got it right on schedule.

*Why is it necessary to push the  payment by two days?
It was not our intention to push any payment by any number of days. Do read the previous posts for an explanation of what happened here and the steps we're taking to counter the problem.

*Why is it not possible to pay right after the month has ended like Shutterstock does?
I can't comment on the practices of other sites but on 123RF, we do have to ensure that financially we conduct checks, preliminary audits, and iron out any issues on the client side before making final payment to the contributors. So a little extra time is required to run a few checks on receipt of payments etc especially now when we have a lot of local offices around the world.

Thank you very much, Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and have a Great New Year to everyone!!!

Wishing you much happiness and prosperity for 2014!
Alex.

Thank you for the suggestions. We do understand the repercussions but this was unexpected and we did test the scripts in the previous month... Sometimes things just don't work out the way they're supposed to.

Thanks again! We'll be in touch.

123RF / Re: December payment?
« on: December 18, 2013, 23:15 »
Hi everyone,

I just wanted to keep you updated on the non-payment investigations. From the communications that we have received so far, we have narrowed things down a little, after some extensive checking we now understand that the problem came about because we implemented a new script.

This new script allows us to calculate your earnings faster and takes (a whole lot) less server side resources, however, some of the conditions that checks for payment were not "raised" in some of your accounts.

To solve this, we are reverting to the older script to flag the accounts for payment but it takes more than a little time to run these scripts. We then had to manually comb through this list and check the amounts due to you to avoid further discrepancies.

We are taking the extra care to make sure nothing goes awry this time around and that everyone will have a cheery Christmas. As some of you have noticed, we are not in the business of running away with your money, or trying to skimp on several days of interests, we're trying to get things RIGHT.

Our Finance will then make payment to you once they are satisfied that the amounts are correct and there are no over or under payments.

We have received a lot of reports and we wanted to make sure that we send out acknowledgement replies to say, "Yes, you're in our system, we're taking some time to check through everything." and then add you to a special "report received" spreadsheet to track everything.

We are doing things as systematically as we can to avoid further complications.

We're sorry for missing out on your payment. We are trying our best to make all payments in the fastest way possible. Thank you for understanding.

Alex

Hi everyone,

We're expediting everything as best as we can, but we need to check things first. It could very well be tomorrow and tomorrow isn't Christmas yet. We do appreciate your patience and understanding while we iron things out at our side.

Thank you very much,

Hi Guys,

We're registered in Hong Kong SAR. From my understanding as 123RF was registered in Hong Kong SAR, we do not have / practice withholding tax. Therefore, we would remit to you your earnings as a whole.

In conclusion: You will have to declare taxes in your own country of residence according to its local laws and regulations.

And yes: We're wholly owned by Inmagine, we have offices all over the world.

Hello, I'm Alex from 123RF.com.

We have altered the way we process FTPed files.

We would like to get in touch with the developer to see if your system and ours are compatible and if they are not, what can we do to make them speak to each other!

Please email me: alex(at)123rf.com.

Thank you very much!

« on: July 03, 2013, 09:55 »
Hello!

I can verify that we have not disabled our FTP. It is now up and working.

We have also re-enabled our old processing scripts so that when activated it will send the all files in your FTP for processing. You should no longer have any error 404s. This was done to accommodate the automated apps that triggers the processing scripts to us.

Thank you,

Alex.

« on: July 02, 2013, 09:55 »
Hi Everyone,

I believe that all automated uploading apps will not work with 123RF currently.
We are however re-engineering all old scripts that these apps use to intuitively queue the files for processing so that things will continue to work seamlessly.

I have not received any timelines with regards to this but I will try to stay on top of the problem and try my best to see if the re-engineering will work.

*keeping fingers crossed here*

Hello ruxpriencdiam,

I am sorry to hear you're having a hard time with our system.

Can I ask you to send us your files via email and allow us to upload them into your FTP folder and do the processing in an attempt to experience the problem that you are experiencing?

We have managed to improve the robustness of the system but I guess it is still not functioning as perfectly as we want it to be. Please email your files to [email protected] and we'll try our very best to help you out.

For those of you who are having problems, please do email us and we will investigate things further.

Thank you!

« on: June 27, 2013, 20:20 »
Hi Everyone,

Thank you for your patience. It's near Friday and I hope to report the progress on the upload system at 123RF.

As promised, we have included a time estimation when you queue files for processing with us.
We have really thrown the book at the system by queuing batches of 4000+ files from one portfolio into it and stress testing it out.
It seems to be able to queue files gracefully and display the correct error messages when it encounters any problems instead of stalling.

If you click on the "Processing Queue" tab, the reporting on the estimated time it takes to process your files seems to be correct now. And the proper errors are also being displayed here.

As for problems with keywords and descriptions, you may also opt to use the "Upload CSV" tool to help with the mapping:
http://submit.123rf.com/images_uploadcsv.php

Alternatively, you may click on the "Completed Images" tab to complete your description and keywording activities.
http://submit.123rf.com/myuploaded.php

Thank you very much, if you find the system still bugging out on you, please feel free to email [email protected].

Alex.

Hi Everyone,

We are in the midst of switching to a new image processing system that works along the same lines as our video and audio processing mechanism.

How this works is:
Via FTP:
1. Upload your files into FTP.
2. Go to the upload page (yes the captcha is a necessary step)
3. Pass the captcha challenge
4. Click FTP Settings / Check FTP Upload Results
5. Click Continue >>>
6. What this does is our system will transfer the files from your FTP folder into a queue.

Via Web form:
1. Upload your files into FTP.
2. Go to the upload page (yes the captcha is a necessary step)
3. Pass the captcha challenge
4. Click Web Form Uploader
5. Select the items that have to be uploaded
6. Check the appropriate check boxes and
7. Click Upload!
8. What this does is our system will transfer the files from your computer into into a queue.

Why is a queue necessary?
We have an increasing number of digital files to process and work with. Due to the popularity of "upload once, send to many" apps out there, these apps are really good at uploading and then processing files concurrently. What happens is that our servers will literally max out on CPU resources and this results in even more angst as your files are corrupted due to failed graceful processing.

Why is captcha necessary?
To allay the auto processing of the apps above. We will work to ensure that the apps will eventually be able to process your files automatically too but we're switching to a new system, so for the time being, do be patient with the system as we work to iron out the bugs.

What's are we working on actively?
Various items:
1. We are currently working to improve the system so that you receive a message on the ESTIMATED time before your files are available for MR attachments/describing/keywording. This is proving to be a challenge as we have to determine the existing queue length and then estimate the time you need for your own files to arrive at a logical estimated timeframe.

2. I do believe that the messaging for the various error detection are a bit vague as well. We are working to make sure that we will give you proper error reports in the future.

3. The system messaging must also be a lot more intuitive because a lot of contributors are so used to processing things in real time, we hope to change this with better messaging to you so that everyone understands that there IS A QUEUE, and you have to send the files in, and come back later to complete the steps.

What don't we recommend?
We advise against refreshing the page continuously as it will generate even more errors. We advise you to be patient, click once and let it take a short while as the system churns through the queue. We too are testing the system so that its robustness and responsiveness is up to par with your expectations as well as ours.

I also note that you might be worried if you missed out certain files due to this problem. We have begun to keep track of your original file names quite some time back. We can give you a CSV dump of all the files you have sent to us and you can identify which files are missing from your portfolio rather easily. Please email [email protected] if you need your CSV file to conduct the reconciliation exercise.

Thank you for your understanding! Please give us a week to iron things out and get the system back on its feet again. We haven't restricted any uploading or processing.
Alex
