Yeah, these high prices seems pretty common in macro. Who want some cheap stuff About contract? Is there an easy way to get one? I dont wanna spend $1995 on a lawyer. Whatabout an email where I tell them they cannot resell it or use it for anything else they told me, that they agree to.

The heat is on... Im really glad I asked They seems to accept a Rm for $2000 but they want it out of the circulation and asked how much that would be. Alot more I said, will have to check my statistics... They are possibly intrested in a custom work for $2000. Theyre having a deadline on tuseday, so Im kind of in a nice position here:) Im glad it isnt april 1:st today... Like Sean said Its a simple woodsign

$5000 or $50. Wich one is it? I could always try with a high amount and lose it, and I got the same as when I started. If I go for a low amount Its the same. The difference is, If they go for it and I get 5000 Id laugh all the way to the bank. If they go for 50 Id say yeeeeeh.
I will suggest something in between and see what they say. I can also offer a customized version since this is a 3d render. Thats probably the safest version and no copyright hassle
Ill keep you updated / Thanks all

They can't use it as a logo. Period. There's no way they can register it as a mark if it has been sold RF.
Its a wood sign, and they will impose text over it. Then its like the wood sign was made like that, if thats making any difference.

Quick answer:
She says "According to Istock agreement Prohibited uses: as part of trade-mark, design-mark, trade-name, business name, service mark, or logo.
We would like to use the photo as part of a logo we are designing.
How much is this worth? Do I need to ask how big the company is, and how many broschyres they are planning to use it in and so on?

I just got a call from a nice lady who wanted to buy a photo of mine from Istock. My bestseller!! Its available as Rf and Extended but she told me they advised her to contact me directly.
I told her to email all the details how she will use it and so on, so I could think about it. waiting for it rigth now..
Its been sold 900 times already, so I doubt she wanna buy the full rights for all times....
Could there be any point in buying it as Rm when its on the micros as extended.
Any advice is welcomed:)
Ill let you know what she says in the email later on...

Make 100 versions and they may all be flames at Istock. Oversaturate and fake the background and even SS may consider them;) The laws of microstock is a mystery...

The rules keep changing and new submissions are held to ever higher standards, and rejected - leaving old submissions, which don't meet the new standards, to keep pulling in the money. It is not clear to me how this improves things for buyers.
This is especially problematic if this policy is effectively protecting low quality images from high ranking contributors like this one:
http://www.istockphoto.com/stock-photo-7754431-earth-with-night-lights-asia.php
while keeping better images from less prominent members out of the database.
Oops, a simple wrap (But uploaded before simple wraps gets rejected for being simple wraps ) Oh, I just wanna say I like Istock most of the time.

Thanks guys:) I agree and hope its a misunderstanding. Like they think Ive used a actual Nasa photo or something. I think Its pretty creative making a space scene from a flat map. And it takes some pretty expensive tools to do it. It not like anyone could do it with cheap software. I assure you this needs more effort than half of all photos on Istock

Ive got one with a plane driving away thats accepted. I thought stockimages was all about leaving it clean for the designers. Or atleast having variations. (like all millions other stockimage copies)

Already done and scout agreed with reviewer. Im not sure they know how this is done? (Its not possible to add original on scout ticket) But I told scout I put a flat map on a sphere and added stratosphere, light, stars etc.. but still. Theres 1200 pages of earth images. half of em unedited nasa maps on a sphere ?

Scout rejected this with following reason: ++nasa image not sufficiently modified Its made from a flat "nasa map" like this: What do u think? I think Ive done "something" to it...

How many are you talking about? Youve had 70 sales in two years. Hardly anything to base statistic on...

Unfortunately they were right about poor lighting/composition. Also the subject is waaaay to small. Would you pick this photo among 1000 others if you for example make a search at Istock.
Try again and upload here so we can help u.

I checked out Ims agency website (Where they bought it) but couldnt find the image. I found other international images on People sold as RM with the choice "commercial prints". Heres an example: http://www.nordicphotos.se/SE/Details/4373018Is this ok? Im not good at Rm licences

This could easily happen again at agencies without reviewers. At Mostphotos I se Editorials for sale as Rf all the time. People dont know the difference and dont seem to care. Hopefully they check the images when a sale occur. The greek was photographed by a tourist without permission. The photo was sold by a Swedish agency that got it in a package from a spanish agency.

1. How much is 123RF making, the answer is simple: We make 25% - 13.3% = 11.7% from the transaction.
You're telling me that you're paying this third party $337 every time someone will buy a 300MB image? Holy bananas. Why didn't you call me? I'd do it for $325.
Seriously, that is a really poor negotiation on your part.
Ill do it for 320$...

Whats wrong with you? Probably nothing. Were just having a hard time believing that anyone these days can be successful with a new site. When even well known " On the list" sites have hard times. Theres simply no more to get out of this for us.
ps. F***stock is not a good name...

We will never know for sure. How could we? The bad guys are always ahead. Its like thinking about where does space end? Even if the security was 100% there is a possibility for siteowners to not report sales. Id never accuse anyone for that though. Im glad for what I get, not sad for what I dont get.
