Upload more images per week, generate more sales per month, surpass 2009.

You can change your settings in Flickr

(In Flickr Preferences Privacy & Permissions:
Who can download your stuff    Only you

"When people are looking at the main display page for one of your photos or a video (e.g.), they will see a button labeled "all sizes" underneath the title. From there, they can download any of the different sizes available, including the original file, unless you choose to prevent it.

Preventing people from downloading something also means that a transparent image will be positioned over the image on the main photo page, which is intended to discourage* people from right-clicking to save, or dragging the image on to their desktop."

I love your site and gallery of wonderful photos.  :)

Photocase is becoming one of my favorite sites. I enjoy browsing the photos and find the site inspiring and well run. Now all I need to do is learn German (been using a translator to read comments and forum)

Fine here. Better than average month so far.

Yep, happened to me yesterday as well. Had just uploaded a few photos and wanted to check the keywords. Instead it went to a "Stephen's" workspace. I could see all his photos. I signed out and signed back in. A real problem, eh?

I am (was) about 3-4 months away from achieving silver at IS.

Part of the draw to microstock is the always changing field of agencies. New ones pop up all the time and existing agencies add microstock sections to their sites, and then there are the hidden gems out there you find occasionally. This keeps things interesting and allows me to expand my horizons. If I was stuck in IS exclusively and didn't have the chance to explore these new horizons, I would get bored very quickly. The last thing I want is to have restrictions placed on me about what and where I want to upload.

Here's some tips from steffne from the Photocase forum:

1. Photos should be "complete," i.e., what you upload is the picture as you prefer it (in contrast to saying that downloaders have all the possibilities to edit the image). Crop the photo to get the composition you feel is best. Ideally, you'll do that before shooting (in your photo, composition and focus are not convincing).

2. Photos should be easy to read. Concentrate on your motive and leave out anything else (in your photo, the background [branches] distracts the eye from the motive, thus, is uneasy). Do not forget that a good motive is mood/emotion (e.g., nice light).

3. You do not want to exaggerate use of photoshop filters. Editing is okay but can not replace composition or mood. I think there is room for improvement in yours

4. Try to give it a personal touch. Don't let a photo look like this of anybody. Look for special perspectives etc. Be original! At least, try so.

It's on other sites, just doesn't sell much, pretty though. Didn't go through the cue like the others, approved in less than a day.

You can see it here:

http://www.photocase.com/en/photodetail.asp?i=186911

I'm going back through photos I took 5-6 years ago before I became "stockmatized."

But isn't it nice to share. ;)
I upload the same through holidays as any other time, a few quality images a week and very consistently.

Finally got one accepted. ;D
Quite an involved finalization process, but I didn't mind. I like the how the site works and enjoy seeing all the interesting photos. A breath of fresh air.

I think Avril is right about this.  My sales the last several days would seem to indicate the tap for non-exclusives has already been turned WAY down.

Yep, I also noticed a significant drop in sales starting on Monday of this week. I hate it when they make these radical changes and expect us to just say nothing about it and the last thing I'd do is drop all my other sites and put all my work with IS. Just not sensible or practical.

« on: December 10, 2009, 14:50 »
I'll probably buy a video camera after the first of the year. Have already been practicing with my Canon Sureshot by pulling samples into iMovie and saving them as NTSC (720 x 480). Also have been playing around with Final Cut Pro at work. That is a great application.

There are a lot of simple vector, type and raster graphics that IS won't take. Those would be gone completely if I went exclusive.

I wouldn't feel comfortable going exclusive with IS. They are one of the most volatile sites. How could you trust them?

You need to show us the images that were deleted and the images that were supposedly copied.

I've uploaded large groups, medium groups, small groups, one at a time, no luck getting any accepted. Don't have a clue what they want. Maybe they want more European style imagery. :-\ Who knows? If you find out, tell me please. :)

My JIU and StockXpert regular and sub sales have also increased since the Photos.com content was removed, some of the best selling months ever. Hope it keeps on this way.

New Age version: After getting an EL you think, "I don't need as many downloads now to make a payout" and voil, you get less downloads because that thought has turned into a reality. ;)

Print on Demand Forum / Re: Zazzle top 10
« on: December 08, 2009, 10:59 »
I already have a bunch of card artwork selling on microstock sites so it would make sense to put these on Zazzle. POD seems to be another good avenue to explore. :)

I'm a bronze non-exclusive and tested a few files with 0 sales. I also got 30.
So this equals the price given by StockXpert for Photos.com and JIU.

Why was I thinking they were only paying 25. Did they change it?
