Veer is doing better than 123RF this month for me.

The 123RF website has been extremely slow for a while now. If I was a customer, I wouldn't want to wait 30+ seconds for the home page to load. :-\

Started uploading late August: 237 photos online, 10,080 views, 2 cart counts, 0 sales  :-\
Hopeful though, because others have had sales :)

General Photography Discussion / Re: Really bad wedding shoot

Wow! Those are unbelievably bad. Most people could have done better with a point and shoot on auto.

Only been with CanStockPhoto for a few months and have 11 small sales with close to 600 photos online. Still waiting for the big Photosearch sales. :)

It has my age at 6 years younger than I really am and says I look like Kirsti Alley, Sarah Michelle Gellar and Paul McCartney

A bought some software for a couple hundred dollars a while back that animates and morphs fractals and can save them in HD. I uploaded a few of these to SS and pond5 in the last month. Don't know if they will sell or not but they are sure fun to make.  :) I'll have to buy a new computer to render them though. My Mac G4 is almost 7 years old. :-\

Love this guy's work. A great illustrator and photographer combined. :)

Newbie Discussion / Re: Color Space question
« on: October 07, 2009, 16:25 »
I would assign the Color Setting of sRGB to begin with for your workspace, then you won't have to remember to convert when saving to jpeg. Adobe RGB is a PRINT setting. sRGB is a WEB setting.

Veer / Re: Veery Quiet

For me, there has been an increase in views and sales each of the last three months I've been with them. :)

Spent 25 years of my life in southern California and moved to the southeast in 1993. Have lived in Knoxville, TN for 12 years and like it more the longer I live here. That doesn't mean ya'll have to move here.  ;) Very competitive area for photographers, by the way. We have a group called the Southern Appalachian Nature Photographers.

Excellent. You can place the watermark in a more aesthetically pleasing position. :)

What do you think would be an adequate number of stolen images in your portfolio or ripped off photographers until an agency will shut you down?

BME on IS. All other sites did pretty well except DT with extremely poor results.

That percentage seems a little higher in my field advertising. :-\

9 sales so far with views increasing. :) I wasn't with SV before.

Dreamstime.com / Re: More than usual rejections from Dreamtime
« on: September 26, 2009, 07:33 »
Apparently not.

245
I agree with sjlocke that the mantis head does not have enough in focus. Not quite sharp enough.

Maybe lighten the midtones on the Big Ben building only (not background).

246
The chess pieces and big ben look pretty good. :)

The christmas ornament looks out of focus. You're losing the string and be sure to clean up any blemishes on the ornament surface. Multiple problems.

There is a problem with the isolation on the praying mantis. I see gray around the front feet. The photo would be rejected because of that.

Coins may work. Doesn't seem like enough contrast on the surfaces.

My RPD for Sept. has fallen to Dec. 08 levels. ??? Was this caused by their recent changes?

Things have really tightened up at IS. When I applied in Feb. 08 and was initially rejected (5 times), only had to wait a couple weeks to reapply, now it is 6 months. :o

daz314, I think you have some nice photos in your gallery and the love of photography shows. Especially like the straws which make a nice pattern and 3 apartment windows with plants. You seem to have a good eye for composition and capturing patterns. The Shutterstock forum Critique / Tips / Tricks is a great place to upload some samples to get input from experts before you apply again. Keep going! :)

Oh boy, hope BigStock is hiring some new reviewers to deal with the deluge of migrating SS submitters. :-\

It would be nice to simplify and modernize BigStock's look. Too many clicks to get where you have to go now.
