Happy with getting 100% commission, average earnings of just under $300 a month from a pretty new agency that was easy enough to upload all my existing stuff to, and a $1000 payment for 50 of my clips that had average earnings of around $2.50 a year?* Yeah, I was pretty happy with that deal.
*The 50 clips I let them have were my 50 lowest sellers, and only had about six sales in the previous two years combined.
...buuuuut if those clips would have been invited to the revenue sharing part of the membership library it is likely that they would have earned much more per year than that single payout. At least based on other sub libraries.
Anyway, we all do what we believe is the right thing at any given moment. If it's the right decision for that moment (we need money now, don't expect much for the future from that site, etc. etc., any other reason) it is the right decision, since we cannot predict the future.
I said no since some of the clips they wanted have earned $2,000 elsewhere, it didn't seem logical to give them full rights for $20...
... not at SB, for sure...

... probably Pond5 reviewer asks you to correct something and resubmit - usually missing Model or Property release, typos or keywords(title) issues... they provide instructions with those returned batch files...

How do you mean?
... by sales... ups, NO Marketplace sales...

... no. 1 agency to be avoided... promising start, lasted a while and then went totally to subscription model... with their `answer-avoiding` policy even for banal questions...

In addition to all the caveats above, you have to decide if you think this will work in the medium to longer term, even if you make something decent in the short term.
They are pitching that it's a limited group who will participate - because they know if they take in too many videos it'll dilute earnings. But if this package is appealing, buyers will want more choice of videos which will encourage Envato to include more content, which will dilute your earnings.
Where are these new buyers coming from? Where could they be coming from? There is a market for video, but how is that going to suddenly enlarge because of their marketing and promotion? I doubt that it will, which means that they're either cannibalizing their own sales or stealing from another agency. There's no magic here.
I'm sure those quotes are genuine from the early participants, but would you bet you'll see the same type of enthusiasm?
Bottom line is that your interests and the agency's interests will not be aligned - they will want more buyers and don't care about how many videos are in the pool. You will want to sustain your earnings by keeping the pool of videos limited. It won't end well for contributors, IMO.
...exactly as my experience at other agency, what convinced me to ran asap I was able to... in long term it`s bad for us and for agency too... they will get new files when you go away, for sure... but every contributor will experience the same - to many files, so little return(share)... well imagined scheme in short terms, with bankruptcy for both sides at the end...

... @SpaceStockFootage, are you talking about SB MS or Envato Elements...?!

... I second that... have tried and I ran away asap... think twice, because return is not worth of risk, to offer your files almost for nothing...

9.1. Relationship. If you reside in the United States, your relationship is with Adobe Systems Incorporated, a United States company. If you reside outside of the United States, your relationship is with Adobe Canada Services Corporation, a Canadian company. [/quote]
.. now this is interesting... if we got our royalties with deduction, will someone from Adobe explain exact meaning of this...

... yes something is weird with them(Adobe)... after constant rise, there are some gaps with no selling periods.. like everything was frozen, none or sporadic sales... this is second or third time... similar happens at P5 from time to time...

... question for SB - how are we going to split -30% for non-treaty countries like mine...? SB, you are taking 30% for ALL files sold on your site, no meter if they are sold to USA or Senegal buyers...? This practice is only seen on SB... well, if I sold HD for 49USD with -30% every time, and half of that is my commission -> 17.15USD for HD video...?!

Pretty big uptick in sales for me this year. Seemed to start in Feb and increase to a reasonably consistent rate in March. No specific reason based on my uploads from what I can tell so must be a combination of increased overall sales and/or changes to the search in my favour. $435 for me in 2017... $445 in 2018 so far.
... totally opposite in my case... everything was fine and in rise until February this year and after that just decline... something changed and not seeing me with rare sales after slow, but evident progress year-after-year...
