It usually takes 2-3 weeks for me to get payout. It seems that every year the FT payout timeline is longer and longer...

I don't like they don't accept illustrations. It sucks.
Second thing sucks that they don't explain at all why some images are rejected.
Think what you want...

« on: July 02, 2008, 08:20 »
I uploaded a batch of some new images I have on Alamy. As on FP we can set our prices, I set all images from $100 to $300. I'm really angry at all these 20 cents, so it's finished with these prices. Anyway there are no many sells, my images are very good , I value them and please pay now accordingly if some want it!

About 90% of all my new images go now to Alamy only.

If I would have INFORMATION about the FUTURE of the Dollar, I wouldn't be sitting in my office behind my computer screen but rather be hugging a huge Caipirinha somewhere under a palm tree... ;D

me too... :)
People who know that (if know) are playing Forex, not stock.

toneteam,
Warm up in the microstock market a few months, test the water on other agencies, at least the BIG 6-7, check and compare numbers etc... Emotions is good but make serious decisions only when stock market situation will be more clear for you. Good luck.

10 sales this month on FP, with one Small Business Extension License.
7-8 place on my earners list.

I'm a bit disappointed with 123.

Despite the fact that I'm uploading regularly and expanded my portfolio from ~2000 to ~3000 images last 10 month, my earnings are not growing and they are still on the same level they were a year ago.
Maybe it is general rule for all microstock in nowdays: you must work hard just to stay on the same level.

123RF is my 4-5 most earner together with Stockxpert. And this may be bright side, that earnings are steady and did not declined.

che che.. IS is kind of adrenalin. When I feel lack of it, I'm uploading to IS. From my last batch of 35 they approved 2.
Of course, all uploaded images are best and good sellers on other agencies, but IS think they are "not stock oriented".
Though they are plain jpgs from my vectors, IS say "there is noise and artifacts".
Though they are original graphic renders, IS say "please upload original photo"...
etc.. etc.. Wacky...

One thing what they love and want, are exclusives.

Yaymicro / Re: YAY - How long will you give it?
« on: June 27, 2008, 02:34 »
I don't know why here is such a global furor about YAY?.. What I missed?

I registered and uploaded ~100 files a few weeks ago, have no one download and didn't notice any signs who separate YAY from other any new sites.

Best uploading and post processing system? I don't think so.
Best earnings per photo? It's normal for nowdays.
Best interface? No, imho.
Best personal account info? No. I miss some information I have on other sites.
Best marketing and most clients? I don't know... before I have regular downloads.

You say "but you have only 100 photos and here is only beginning...", but I say that with 100 files at least on 4 agencies (IS, SS, DT and FT) I had downloads on the very first days after uploading IN THE BEGINNING of these agencies.

So who knows this secret, why YAY is different and so good that I must upload thousands images without any signs of successful agency?

I don't ask rhetorical, really would appreciate any answer that I don't know yet maybe..

over 1000 portfolio, 2 months online, 0 (zero) sales.
MP goes to my UFO ("upload & forget") category.

If admins will buy a couple of my images, then I will upload a couple thousands more.
Maybe....

jsnover,

just red your post on IS forum. Good questions. Interesting to see how no one, I mean exclusives, has nothing to answer

They have a unique faculty to indispose people toward themselves and mischief contributors between istockers and others. It's a spirit, not only business. Kind of religious sect.

all microstock is evil!

lot of rejections...
lot of new photographers to conquer me...
lot of new creative images (I can't do that..)...
low prices for subscriptions...
low acceptance rate...
no downloads at all...
BIG brother on forums...
no freedom to f**k admins...
......

I think, I like it... ;)

Alamy.com / Re: Sales at Alamy. Any updates?
« on: June 21, 2008, 01:57 »
Thank you Adeptris for clarification.

I was desperately checking and counting my views and zooms as I thought that without zooms there are no sales :)

Of course they matter to CTR but now I know that sales can happen suddenly without them.

At last yesterday got my first sale with $85 commissions.

Interesting that this sold illustration had no zooms. It denies theory that without zooms can not be sales, like I red in Alamy forums.
In fact on search results page customer can add image to cart and can buy it without zoom.

I began upload 5 weeks ago and now have ~300 online with them.

I dont know if this is good news or not, may be good for spamming, but this give me the feeling that istock is trying to drive non-exclusive out of their site. They are very hard on rejections, photos that sell real well in other sites they reject for stupid reasons, now this is another excuse to reject your non-exclusive images even more. Sales have dropped very much for me at this site and I dont see them coming back at the level I was before. As a matter of fact after being my second best selling site has gone to be the worst.

I would edit this: it's not only feeling, i's a fact.

Almost the same here. I'm with IS from the beginning and long time IS was my No1 earner, now it's No7, even BS earns more...

They should write very clear about rejections: "We don't like nonexclusives so all your images have been rejected" instead of stupid reasons..

che che...

These IS "exclusive prestige" emails belong to "you were chosen to win 1 million euros..." or "my father sheik died in Africa and I would like to transfer 20 millions in your account.." group.

Maybe one or two will decide to became exclusives from thousands emails..

It's a nonsense. Calculate from beginning to the end and back million times, anyhow you will not earn more with IS exclusive than without exclusive on several agencies. To say nothing about restrictions to sell your photos, stupid rejections etc...

Ach, yes, I forgot about all "benefits"!.. LOL
I really don't understand... I seemed  IS administration is clever...

Exclusive? Not today.
Exclusive with IS? Never.
Not for me.

« on: June 19, 2008, 09:58 »
thank you jsnover. I see... Seems I will not opt out because of credit sales.

On other hand, I like DT, it always was my favorite from the beginning and long time is my second best earner after SS.

« on: June 19, 2008, 08:47 »
I had a $0.21 sale yesterday. I don't think I have ever seen anything that low a DT before.

06/17/2008 ($0.21)

It was probably XS so I am not complaining.

what??? just got one $.21 sale too for LARGE size!!!
What does it mean "partners" sales? Can I opt out these "partners"??

Sorry for asking, perhaps there is some info but I'm a bit nervous now...
I hate this pennies subscription... At least must be 30 cents for small...
Of course, my main earnings go from SS subs and I didn't want to complain to much.. but these 21 cents really suck...

Please send me my money

Cranky MIZ
The voice of reason

Thank you, but I just checked my IS account and there is no exclusive icon by my name... :(

I would like to send you money but without exclusivity my earnings on IS dropped from $10000 to $100/month...
I think WITH exclusivity my acceptance ratio will grow from 5% till 10% so then I will pay you double..

:-)

98
MIZ, you have a fantastic stuff in your shop. I would like to buy Istockphoto Exclusive logo installed near to my nickname, would you create one?

As IS reviewers declared war against me I think it's because I'm nonexclusive with them..

I do not want to be a wet blanket but are we speaking about FeaturePics or Fotolia here?

yeah, sorry, I wrote FT instead of FP. Now I edited. I'm speaking about FeaturePics.
