basically FT works in 2 ways:
- isolations (whatever it is)
- people

subjects like travel (cities, landmarks) sometimes get over too, nature/landscape is even harder..

+1  Exactly.

^ If you're on Alamy, note that they too will take 6 months before any deleted images are actually removed (though they will remove them from the search after 3 months).

As I understand it, if you ask for the images to be deleted, they take 3-6 months, but if you actually close out your Alamy account, they come down right away.

Oh Really. I did not know that. thanks lisa.

I asked them again referring to their agreement-
and they say-
   Hello Gemmy!
1.       Images have been deleted from the public view.
2.       Images and your account will be deleted (COMPLETELY) in 2 weeks.
3.       Images will be not available for customers because they will not exist.
Thank you, FeaturePics crew.

again i asked them whether the images will be available in their partner sites and they replied-

Hello Gemmy!
All requests have been already submitted.
Nobody can purchase an image on our site (including partners) if it has been deleted.
Thank you, FeaturePics.com

* I had/have a very few images with them.

Are you guys sure that featurepics takes around 360 days for removing all images...???? As i requested for deleting my account there and had few email exchange and they say that featurepics takes takes just "2 weeks" to remove all images completely !!!!

ps- though i can see their rules about deleting an image.

They ask to Download form (of types of membership you want) and send initial sample images to their office address. I dont get it. How do they accept them- Online or by post ?

Veer / Re: Your Veer portfolio on Alamy
« on: May 27, 2012, 03:07 »
omg, I have only 14 images with veer as i joined them recently. and all of 14 images are in pocketstock lol
btw is www.pocketstock.com  different from www.pocketstock.com.mx ? as my images are not in pocketstock.com but in pocketstock.com.mx

Well, Pocketstock has got heaps of my pictures that I never sent to Veer, so I reckon it is getting them from somewhere else.

As i said pocketstock has "only those 14 images of mine" what i had submitted to Veer. so its certainly Veer who has submitted my images to pocketstock

Alamy has steady sales for me. Although it is just about 20% of what I make on shutterstock I consider Alamy as a more reliable and stable Agency in the future than any of the Micros. I currently build up a huge exclusive Portfolio there (Editorial, RM, RF). I cannot hear those negative people anymore who only want to move if something promises immediate Profit.

thank god that i tried in veer recently and only few pix there. No contributor would like to become a part of Veer's this programme. Thanks to Op,other members and msg i could know about this otherwise i had no idea about veer gonna do lol. I wont contribute to veer anymore.

I take macro photos, and I sell macro photos.
Its all about what is the frame.
Go do a louse in a stacked macro, or a mosquitto...
It will sell well.

Half bees with shallow dof does not sell.

+1... .

pp earnings is much more than earning from istock itself. Lol dont know if its good or bad.

185
Well I'm 52 and I sell more images now than when I was much younger so no __ age is not a factor.
Lolzz

I'm having a very strange experience with that Elena.  I tend to have  one or two sales on new files straight away, and then they just stop and become slow and sporadic, but the older stuff keeps churning out sales at a regular rate.

Exactly same here too..!

Seriously?
Yeah don't forget Sean.

Who's Sean?  ::)

Hello wim...? I give you a clue.. Google his name and you will find ;)  lol  (sjlocke)

Good luck Yuri...!

He's getting a puppy?

Big mistake!  I got one in December and I hardly get any work done anymore ;D

I dare you to make him as famous as your husband.
lol Congrats for new puppy Lisa. Howz he/she growing. I am also planning to get one soon but could not decide which one probably GSD or great dane but what ever i bring he will surely bemain  hero of my photos :-D (sorry for being off topic) :)

I'm guess selling just his own work direct, or a new agency or similar
yeah. Probably his own agency. :)

« on: April 21, 2012, 11:22 »
i afraid if it is a new marketing strategy/ strategy for much profit by the agencies. 1st to show your sale and then take back the royalty given to contributor saying it was fraud. Its duty of agency to stop fraud not of a contributor. If some one  uses our images in a fraudulent way then its fault of agency. Why to penalize we contributors. And wot is the guarantee that there was really any fraud and the agency is not telling a lie.

« on: April 20, 2012, 10:53 »
Thanks guys!!! This really helps!!!!

I aplied for Shutterstock before and got accepted first try so that is not the problem.

@ gemmy: "Too many similar images" Yes i get this very often and I don't alway's understand it since it makes no sense sometimes and I see images online that are soooo close to each other that do get accepted were I would think they are way to similar.

You can see my portfolio here: http://www.dreamstime.com/Twindesign_portfolio_pg1

I am still a bit affraid of leaving exclusivity but I realy think I should give it a go. The $ is why I got in this in the first place. I feel as if I am in save waters with Dreamstime and that feels kind of good but I think I have to leave being exclusive at some point.

Thank you all for your great advise!!!

i think you did well that you applied for SS first. I will also suggest you to remain exclusive in DT until you get selected in SS. And after looking at your port i can tell you that you will do quite well in SS also. Your port has  variety - people, isolation, concept and other things what do well in SS and any other micro. Dont worry and be happy.
Good luck.

Mactrunk ! I have no idea what type of images predominately present in your port but SS and (Now) IS do earn much more for me than DT as a non exclusive. More over some images rejected by one agency always get accepted others so i can sell almost sell my all shots taken for stock. Possible that you may face low in earning after leaving exclusivity but its also possible that you will gradually see increase in income and there may come when you will recover well from your loss you faced after leaving exclusivity. In fact you ll see a much higher earning from SS itself if your port is good enough for SS customer. How ever it totally depends on your port size and quality.
Can you tell me one thing. Do you exclusive guys in DT also face rejection with a reason 'Too many similar images' ?

Shutterstock.com / Re: Recent uploads disappeared
« on: April 11, 2012, 23:25 »
it has been really a standard feature in SS now. Not only newly accepted files go missing frequently but also the old ones from the port. Even support teams are probably in long leave. No reply from them at all.

UL to IS FT is terrible. I like those who don't offer categories like 123rf and CS (though no more UL to CS and probably not even to 123rf from the near future) or least /simplified categories eg- SS. If one is exclusive he/she can deal with complicated UL process but for non exclusives like me UL to IS/FT/DP... most terrible.
