anyone please ? Or all use i7 ?

27
I need to get a new desktop pc. I do photo video edit for stock. I wanted to get i7 processor with 16gb ram with some dedicated graphic card, but the problem is the desktop pc with only i5 processor and 8gb default ram is available in my country and i dont want to buy another laptop..
so if any one using or has used i5+8gb ram for video editing, could you please tell me if i go with this configuration or only i7 is best? do you find any significant difference in i5 and i7 processor for video editing in after effects/premier (and also photo edit too)
Thanking you in advance..

I think she was successful with this email earlier somewhere so she just pasted the same to try on you.

what should be the minimum size of 25 sample images ? and as it is for evaluation purpose so can one send images which are already on any other site ?

I'm not sure about the number of sample images but yes, you can submit images for your application that are already on other sites.

Just to understand this better. The sample images after review will get approved for sale (like SS) or they are just part of the application to get approved (like iS where the sample images need to get submitted again for getting into sale).

I think it should be just part of application like IS if stocksy has not changed the rule what were there last year, so following some old stocksy threads here, its for application purpose and if you are accepted as stocksy photographer once, you have to submit again so that they can be reviewed before including to the stocksy collection. If its not so then any stocksy member kindly correct me.
And i dont see anything wrong in the image posted in above link, its just that microstock has changed our view and taste for photography. I liked Michael's recent post about stocksy in his blog
When I submitted my application yesterday, it stated the files must be at least 5.8 MP..

Thanks Tanya. Am I reading it right.. at least "5.8" MP ?

i would say try exclusivity as your images are performing better in istock. Going exclusive to non exclusive is easy but the other way is not i think especially when you have spread images in many sites (and hence their partner sites) because its really hard and unreliable whether the pp sites also have also stopped selling your images after months of closing your a/c in the parent microstock site. Again if stock photography is not your only job then it may may be harder to upload and maintaining large portfolio in multiple sites though there are some tools to upload at multiple agencies at a time. I myself now uploading to 2-3 agencies only though i am non exclusive. If i were at your place, i would have tried exclusivity. But be ready to also accept the negative aspect of exclusivity if you face in future. Good luck.

My 2014 stats are more 'disappointed by Alamy':

2014 has not ended yet so your graph may rise :)

ss does automatically but in p5 you have to upload both 4k and hd.
Thanks, does ss do sd, hd, 2k?
i had to upload only 4k and it was converted into hd, sd and web. Not 2k.

that means it will show files with zero or least downloads for the search terms ! Great idea. Good for all.

So IS now saying us (indirectly) that you have to pay istock a fee to sell your images from istock. Now wait and see when istock publicly announces this.

When i joined MSG i wished to see Alamy in the poll(because Alamy was and is still now my one of mainstream stock income source)  but i was told that this forum is "Microstockgroup" and sales in alamy don't come regularly as in micro, so there is no use to include alamy in poll but now we see it has been included. So AGE can also be included, specially now when even AGE has a separate section LBRF (Low Budget RF) for micro images (one can not send his microstock images to regular RF section). So i guess AGE is not here in poll because i believe only few MSG active members are in AGE and there is probably no regular sales from age too. I have not sold any LBRF or RF there, just RM and that too very few BUT for good price.
Now i don't submit my images there now, probably because fewer sales compared to effort to submit images. But i really like age's admin, support team and some very gentle photographers working with Age. Very friendly and ready to help, any time.

I know very well where Alamy is heading : they will finally give up and start selling RM at 5-10$ flat rate and  they will launch monthly subscriptions and eventually they will switch the RM images to "editorial RF".

Their CEO has been very clear about what's going on, their clients wants cheaper photos and are sick of the RM model altogether so they'll either adapt or die.

How long will it take ? 1 year ? 2 year ? we will see but i've the feeling this is unavoidable.
We must accept that for buyers RM is more and more perceived as pain in the A-ss and they can't justify the prices considering the gazillions of decent RF micro alternatives.

On top of this, iphone-quality  cr-ap is now earning lots of supporters in the publishing industry.
As much as we're disgusted at the idea this is already happening and it will be the soon the norm, i'm already seeing newspapers and magazines using sh-it done with iphones EVERY DAY.

No matter if they paid for it or if it was stolen from Instagram, Flickr, WeChat, FB, Twitter, photo editors now like this sh-it and nobody seem to complain especially their readers.

Actually we're even seeing iphone stuff coming from the frontlines in Sirya, Lybia, and Afghanistan and the recent clashes in Bangkok.

I'm horrified by this trend but it can't be stopped.
they wont die, at least not in next 1-2 years. If they had to then it would already have died long before when were paying 70% and then 60%. But they continued to survive paying highest commission with out requiring exclusivity even during economical crisis was at peak and most of the well established sites had reduced commission to 15-30%. I cant say they cant reduce commission to further but i am sure they will "not" die. Btw  i also sell very few but at the end of month my income surpass other micro sites reaching to 3 digit income and that too for my small portfolio of about 700 images and many of them are unreleased images
he didnt say Alamy will die, but RM will die. That was his whole point.

Ron ! I think by saying "They" he meant Alamy. what i understood-

and here another sad news. Loss of actor Paul Walker, actor of movie 'Fast and Furious' i really like that guy and his acting in these car racing movie series. Really he lived and died in the fast lane.

Please leave Mark his space. It doesn't need to be filled up with celebrities.
sure. I mentioned because both the artists had passion for cars in their professions. Anyways may the souls live in peace.
